Ugh, Carlin Isles to Detroit.
He is 5'8' 173 llbs, and has only played rugby for 6 months. After training camp will we never here his name again,we found your Marcus Webb for the year, someone you fall in love with that will turn out to be 00000000000000000000000

Ugh, Carlin Isles to Detroit.
I liken him to the Onobun our robo TE, stud body, no football sense. He will never make it, how many Sprinters try to play in the NFL and only a couple made something out it. He is just a name, we will never see in lights.

Maybe, but I dont wish him well, he is not in blue and orange.

I dont think you need to worry about it, rugby players dont usually translate to the NFL.

Dorsey wasnt special when at KC, but with a ton of good players on the SF defense, I suspect he looked better.

2014 Free Agents to fix the Defense
Some 2nd tier FAgents I would like to see us sign.(in no particular order) Dexter McCluster/KR/WR --------could play the slot and is a good KR we could get for the same money Hester will probably cost to bring back. 26 years old Brian De La Puente/OC-----------he wont command a large contract but wont be cheap either. It is an above average center with ties to Kromer who could probably get him here. 29 years old Vance Walker/DT------------------40 tackles, 3 sacks at 6-3 305, adds a little more beef to the rotation 27 years old Everson Griffen/DE---------------13+1/2 sacks the last two years in a part time role, may be able to catch cheap with upside 27 years old Jon Beason/MLB------------------ a team leader type, stout against the run 93 tackles-one interception at 29 years old Cris Cook/CB--------------------a high round pick that didnt pan out, 6-2 with 4.46 speed, maybe we can restart his career with a new home 27 years old Stevie Brown/S-----------------coming off of knee surgery but had a very good 2012, might be able to catch him cheap until he proves himself again 29 years old Other than De La Puente all of these players can come on team friendly contracts

Peppers News
I think we take the cap hit this year and be done with it. If we keep him one more year and then restructure his contact, we just move the money out for another year to take the big cap hit so he will be expensive for two years instead of just one. Just cut our losses and move on.

mock drafts-ongoing list
here is a 3 round draft from The Football Spot 1/16/14 1-Hageman/DT/Minn 2-Colvin/CB/Okla 3-Bullough/MLB/MSU not familiar with the last two names using there draft here is who I would take: 1-Hageman/DT/Minn---------------We need a large man to add to our line and he is 6-6 318, athletic, can play several positions along the line 2-Bucannon/SS/WashSt------------He has size and 109 tackles with 5 interceptions his senior year. A playmaker type we desperately need. 3-Jones/DT/PennSta----------------He was still available in this round so I thought I had to take him. A productive 6-3 318lb that could also fit in a DE spot in the 3-4. I feel our biggest need is to be strong up the middle and these 3 would go along way at making that happen. I also thought about Smallwood/MLB that was still available in the third, another need spot for us.

Donald looks like a player, but I think we need someone that can be more of a NT/DT/DE type. Hageman is bigger and can play all those positions. Tuitt can play a couple of different positions if we end up going back and forth with our schemes as I suppect we will. I think we will still be a 4-3 but with the same personal on the field be able to switch into a 3-4 on the fly. Donald could become a stud, but too small to play NT and if we use the 3-4 we have to have that player to make that work. I think we resign Ratcliff , possible of Melton on a earn the money contract, and Collins as a rotational guy. So we need the NT type to rotate with Ratcliff and I think Paea could probably play the end spot in a 3-4. I also think with the pending release of Peppers we may get a pass rushing DE in the first round.

3-4 Nose Tackles
Jennings is younger than peanut so that is why they gave him the money.Peanut will be after more money than the Bears will be offering.I think they will bring Bowman back and a FA or two and a draftee. Tucker will get one year to prove himself .
-
3-4 Nose Tackles
I agree, we need to fill our NT spot that can play also in a 4-3, we will be mixed in different looks and that is a key.

SCM and Washington both fall into those numbers, I dont think Bostic is a 3-4 type OLB at his size.
-
3-4 Nose Tackles
Just kind of average it out probably 6-3 320? Hageman or Nix, would definitely fit the mold. I dont think Donald fits that mold,we have Paea as that smallish backup. He would be a 3T in cover 2, maybe a end in a 3-4 but doubt it.

Im not at all a big Romo fan but he is a top 10 qb so I have to take him in the 7th

I like the names you put together, but think in a trade scenario you could have did better than a late 3rd pick.
-
mock drafts-ongoing list
They will bring Britton back to put in the te/extra blocking role. maybe a Jeff Cumberland formidably of the Jets can be brought in in FAgency with out much cost.
-
mock drafts-ongoing list
Early could end up being a beast, but Donald is 6' 288, I was trying to add some bulk to our lineup. Hageman is 309 and Truitt is 312.

That doesnt make a lot of sense for a te. We need another TE but at the end of the draft if it plays out that way.

Jennings to replace Shermam
Time will tell about how well he is at drafting, but he brought us , as you stated 2 pro bowlers and also, lets not forget, the Marshall trade. I give him a c+ so far. This year will go along way on telling us his expertise. I think the first year he had input from Lovie that may have affected his drafting, last year(still yet to define itself) was basically his first in my book.

how do you change your team in the off season? I thought we picked from the team we drafted?
-
mock drafts-ongoing list
Im bored and look at everything, at least they take the time to do a whole draft, the one rounders doesnt give much insight.
-
Jennings to replace Shermam
I looked back at the draft and we could have gotten Warford with our second round pick, he went in early 3rd round and tons of teams passed on him.
-
Jennings to replace Shermam
Warford would have been a good pick, but I think Long will end up being our LT once Bushrod falls off, Warford cant play that spot.

mock drafts-ongoing list
I will periodically list mock drafts of at least 3 rounds on this post. Draft Tek lists a draft as of 1/18 #1 Hagemen/DT/Minn #2 Bailey/SS/USC #3 Friedorowski/TE/Iowa #4 Martin/DE/NC #5 Ryenolds/CB/OreSU #6/a Ikard/OC/Oka #6/b Josh Huff/RB/Oregon I dont know much about any of them except for Hageman,BUT according to how the draft falls, this is who I would take in those spots #1 Hageman/DT #2 S Truitt/DE/ND #3 Desir/CB/Linedwood #4 Anthony Johnson/DT/LSU #5 Ward/SS/NIU #6 Ikard/OC/Okla #6 Logan Thomas/QB/VTU I kiinda went with the best player available theory which got me the 3 DLinemen.

Brendan Daly Considered for DL Job
coaches are a big part of success but if we dont make several changes on the DL , he will look bad too.
