None of us on here are pro scouts or work for a NFL team so we have to take our opinions as little valve in the scheme of things. The draft always intrigues me and spend a lot of time checking out draft sites, mock drafts, ect. and would have made different choices at every point of the draft, but it is like a hobby for me and not my job. I have liked what Emery has done in FAgency and will have to give him the benefit of the doubt and wait and see how this draft class turns out. McCellin-I as well as others seen him in a OLB spot but that doenst mean he cant play DE in a down position, What I like, his name is easy to spell, football instincts, high motor, speed, football skills. A lot to like as a football player. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Jeffery- I liked other WRs better but after reading more about him, I can see him becoming a #1 WR eventually. He can catch the ball and has great skill set where this could be the best pick of our draft. It is all up to his work ethic and what we can get out of him. Hardin-He has everything going for him to be a impact player at this level but his injury history is of concern. As a third rounder, if healthy could be a real steal. Rodriguez- If Emery has some kind of vision, this pick could turn into some kind of weapon. You send Marshall, and Jeffery down field, with Bennett crossing the middle, and have Evan hitting the seam, I can see big things coming from him. At just under 6-2 that sounds short for a TE but if he was considered a WR that would be considered good height, but his skill set is interesting. Frey- Might be able to stick but gives competition to the position, at best a STs player McCoy- Hard to read what valve you get out of these late round picks. We still have UFAs to deal with and another run of NFL players that will be dropped due to new draftees, so his work isnt done yet. The only thing that bothers me is not addressing the OLine, so his first draft will be graded on how these players contribue and what Tice does with the OLine and I can say, on paper we are a much better team going forward.

It is nice to read some positive ideas after spending a few days with this sorry group.
-
From the outside the draft looks like a C-, but what I like is it looks like he has a plan, and that was to get some weapons for Cutler and has done that with the offseason and draft. I didnt like that we didnt address the OLine, but the picks were suprizing and interesting. As we know we cant grade this draft for a couple of years, but am interested in how better our team can be going forward. Emery is suppose to be a draft guru so I will have to say, I think he show balls for the moves he has made.

I agree with some of your concerns, but statements like a "fifth round pick" are just lame.
-
I read good things and bad things, so we will have to see how this plays out.

this aint the JA picking factory, Emery strong suit is drafting, so lets see what all of these players turn out to be. I would have made other choices, but after reading about him, he sounds like he could turn out to be Aaron Hernandaz. Who is 6-1 245, same size as Evan. I think he can line up as a H back, two TE sets and could be a real gem if every thing turns out right. I will give him the benefit of doubt and be anxious to see.
-
I would be liking moving up and give some later picks away, but for who? I think Massie is a high rated player worth doing that for.
-
I think we had a lot to whine and cry about because JA was doing the drafting, since we have a new guy, lets give him a shot and whine and cry if we dont like the results. As far as FAgency, I give him a good grade, so I will wait and see on the drafted players turn out.

Here are the BPA at spots we still need to upgrade, that should go early in the first round. Massie/LT Boykin/CB Crick/DE-DT Dennard/CB Randall/DT Charles/TE Green/TE We still have a chance to get one of these players, probably a TE?
-
I am not sure there are any drafable players in the OL that could come in an start other than Massie who will be long gone before we pick.
-
There are still a few DTs left that could be situational contributers. Daniels/Iowa, and Howard/ Fl,Randle/Tex, and Harris /USC
-
I think all of our picks have some risks, but like you, the more I read, the more I get on board for the moment.
-
Are the last three picks on this list?
-
Emery said that Jeffery was the BPA on their board when they moved up to draft him. I have to give him credit to draft who he wants instead of appeasing draftniks (me included) that think there were better choices out there. The most interesting off season I can remember, and still more to come.

Brought this to the forefront to help people see facts they dont normally use for their arguments.
-
On a post I submitted, Food for thought, I list 7 of the leading DEs sackers that are similar in size. I did list J. Allen who is 2.5 inches taller but listed him because he came from Idaho State, because you used the small school argument. There are 5, mind you 5 that you can completely compare to our pick. But as you have did before , dont let the facts get in the way of your argument.

I would not have picked any of these players, but then I am a plumber and my job is not on the line. He is filling areas of need and throwing it all on his shoulders with these picks. I have to give him cudos for not picking who I want. In two years this draft wont be a conversation, it will be the next draft, and we will know what kind of GM we have. I am a Bears fan first and foremost so I want everybody we picked to be good players, so Im on the bandwagon till proven otherwise. Nobody on this blog is a GM by trade so whine if you want, or praise, just remember it doesnt matter, you should only want everybody to be successful.

Massie is still there, maybe we can get one, one spot away.
-
Their job is on the line, so I trust they did there homework, and I will trust them till the tale of the tape tells us otherwise.
-
Look at the list of leading sackers in the league last year, and you will see many 6-3 6-4 players on that list.
-
they have a running Big Board on GBND website
-
I think in the next two rounds we pick M. Martin/DT/Mich and Stephenson/OT/Okla
-
DTs who are left B. Thompson/Clem Ta'amu/Was M. Martin/Mich rated in the top 18 players left
-
I would say we still need to draft a DT, CB, OT, with the next two picks. Hope they can figure how to do that.

Just showing how different peoples opinions vary quite a bit, most sites have him in that range, so we got valve where were at. The player most like him in the NFL is B. Marshall, so we will have to see how this plan plays out.
