  1. Anyone see Pete Prisco's top 100? Having DJ Moore listed 84 may be realistic but listing Devoo Samuel, Nico Collins, Garret Wilson ahead of him is not. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-top-100-players-of-2024-patrick-mahomes-reigns-again-myles-garrett-top-defender-in-priscos-rankings/
  2. For sure, players are creatures of habit, he needed to train differently to get different results.
  3. For us to hit high marks on offense we need to have 65 offensive plays a game. If we have a good D that will give us those oppurtunities. Last year we had 534 rushing atts and 513 in pass atts with an inconsistant offense. We only need 4 more pass atts a game to reach 600 and more efficency will get us 4200 pass yards at least.
  4. His slow get off in college was a design of that defense. His job was to hit and hold, not get up field. his DL coach in college was interviewed on the SCORE once and told the story. Also I think Pickens takes a step forward this year. All the attention is on Dexter but he has traits too. 4.89 40, long arms -big hands. He had 42 Ts as a DT his last year in college.
  5. The weaknesses we see now may not be next year. Looking forward we could use 2 more players on the DL, a Safety to take over when Byard leaves, a center, another TE, another WR if Allen leaves. I think Pettis is being overlooked, he can contribute on special teams and as a WR. He was brought in last year but got injured. He's only 28 years old with 4.32 speed. Jones is the same and both have speed. Scott underperformed and will show what he is this year. We have enough options that someone will shine and be considered # 4.
  6. I always think you throw out their best and worse years and that's who they are which means he should be top 15 at his position. He's going to be fine.
  7. He acquired Bates before he signed Shelton and gave up something. I think he brought him in to be the starter but him and Shelton are flexable for both OG and OC so it gives him depth and options. PFF is just a measure to compare players, it has some merit but they do get things wrong. Both are an upgrade over last year, I suspect they are average players but that is better than bad players. One may pop , not everyone can be first round picks. Centers usually struggle their first year and are not a good idea with roo0kie QBs. So if our centers play falls to between 12th to 18th, we will have a good line this year.
  8. I think IF he has sights of going to the SB, then he may add to make that run but i think he will let new players fail first before he takes that step. His mind already has this team making the playoffs. i would be disappointed if he didnt think that way.
  9. The Bears just signed DeAndre Carter. A kick returner, who isnt showing preogress on the team?
  10. As much as a star player would be nice, I dont think Poles is going to add a big contract to the team. He can work numbers to make it happen but Troy will want Sweat money if not more. I think he will run with the options on the team. If he adds someone (Yannick) that will be on a team friendly deal. If Allen has a good year ,that wont be cheap bringing him back. If he keeps Jenkins that wont be on the cheap. As he builds this team , he keeps an eye on the cap. I thnk he may want to extent DJ Moore before he spends bigt money to fill a weak spot. He has made several comments on not being able to fill all his needs in this season.
  11. Who is out there that makes us a dominate line? Carl Lawson? Yannick ? Ogbah ? Frank Clark? I dont think any of those are special. I dont think we are tradig assets for a disillusion star that wants a big paycheck. I dont think this year is the year we add another high paid player. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2024/6/12/24176975/a-scouts-take-on-the-2024-chicago-bears-defensive-ends-montez-sweat-jacob-martin-demarcus-walker
  12. I think they can run in Walker to 3 T to add to DT. They added Cowart and drafted Randolph which may fill the forth spot at DT. Everything may be in place we just dont know the quality of the new players. They signed Lewis because the bodies werent good enough. We will see shorty what they think of the DE room by staying pat or adding somen=one will show their hand.
  13. Just having a vet body isnt going to change the situation. There are 3 that might improve the position but , if tha's the case, why are they still available? Last year bringing in a 9 sack guy was suppose to be a great move, it wasnt. Money isnt a problem but there must be work ethic flaws or they would be here. Now if they deem none of the young guys can handle it, then they will bring a guy in. The fact they havent brought in a vet yet tells me someone looks good enough to be the third DE. Maybe Booker and Jacob Martin gives you sopmething we just havent seen yet. If they bring in someone it will be right around now. Soon we will know.
  14. You may be right, but all I could find was info like this. I thought they moved him to OC in 23 to learn the center position.( On statmuse they said he played OC the whole year.) You are correct Games Off. Def. ST Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS Num Pct Num Pct Num Pct 2019 22 BUF G 71 8 0 78 15% 0 0% 27 14% 2020 23 BUF G 71 16 0 82 8% 0 0% 93 21% 2021 24 BUF G 71 17 4 294 25% 0 0% 83 19% 2022 25 BUF RG 71 15 15 947 94% 0 0% 62 16% 2023 26 BUF G 71 17 0 35 3% 0 0% 79 18% Career 1436 0 344
  15. Dexter is getting better.
  16. Bates had always started at guard and his last year was moved to center. He had a seasoned vet in front of him but was being grooved to take over when the Bills started to shed salary. Poles thinks he can be productive there so can see if this is one of his hits or misses. Shelton is sat least average if that doesnt work out.
  17. We have two starting DEs as of now. Walker was disappointing but showed more once Sweat showed up. Booker will only play as a situational edge to start so one more edge would be nice. With a new D-line coach we may have upgrades to all the DL. This stage of practice only shows a players quickness and not full spectum of strengths. Yannick is an option but he wasnt special. Not sure any special players in Free agency are left. Give the young guys the reps and maybe by midseason they can start rolling. I think more importantly is there a player on the roster that can hold up the run defense on a regular base and then run in the rookies. Yannick wasnt that good at holding the point and with the run defense.
  18. As far as the Oline, having the top 30 players in both OG and OT puts us to al least an average to good OL. With a QB that has a quick release that puts us a top 12 OL. I totally expect the center to be top 20 rsting with the other lineman supporting him.
  19. Me think we may expect a pass rusher but they may like Austin Booker-Jacob Martin- Dom Robinson-Jamree Kromah-Khalid Kareem-Daniel Hardy more than we realize.
  20. August 1 we play a football game/
  21. Is it just me but this this team truly display a family atmosphere? Have to give Flus credit , he takes each player group and has them over to his house for BBQ and getting to know his players. He is the main drive to establishing this culture.
  22. I figure 2 years max. 2026 is the year we have to start handing out big contracts and the expensive contracts go off the books.
  23. Depending on how the receptions are ditributed, Allen could be offered a team friendly contract if we do a lot of winning, at worst we could tag him one more year. OTC estimated it would be 24.7 mil for franchise tag and 22.1 mil for transition tag. I think they draft a new one next year and sigh an extenstion for DJ. Leaving Keenan odd man out. DJ , Rome, Kmet, Everret can carry the water while a new one developes.
  24. JJ is at this moment in time but teams will make TS a star by continuing to target him. It took him some time to learn. His first 10 games he had 6 PDs and nothing else. His last 7 games; 4 Ints-2 FFs-10 PDs. I think both CBs can be stars in this league. He tied for 5th in the league in PDs and 7th in the league in interceptions. Watch his tape a great run defender..
