Jason...you are a very smart guy, read more statistics and probably watch more games than I....as do some others around these parts. Just be careful what you are saying to some good guys that have legit opinions, you know what I mean? In the end...we are all at the pub....drinking......having a beer. Laughing........having a good time. We all love the Bears....and will spill blood over that. So....to argue with our own? Why? They love you man....and I know they love you too. Have a great day buddy. Bears fan, one to another. And BTW....look at my record, I have gotten tossed off here once, and am ready to do so again. Take care Jason, you are a bright guy.....let's stick together.

Damn, that is hard Madlith....hahaha.
-
That is an interesting comment, and certainly something I was not aware of. I like Forte.....but he has never quite convinced me. Payton did, Anderson did, even some others did in their own way, ALA Harris, Sanders, Gentry. Let's see what a motivated Forte looks like, I sure appreciate him as he is and the O Line has been terrible in the past and should improve now for awhile. Can't wait to see the finished product! I still wouldn't mind Jason for GM and Terra for HC, with Alaska as special advisor/overseer of all that is Bears history......
-
You are right on IMO Jason, injuries killed us on D last year...if not for that, we would have done much more. We made a killing in FA...time will tell, as always, but it is a good time to be a Bears fan IMO.
-
damn, now you are making me feel old...haha. We seen to have done well in the draft I think, but I am still mourning over Pryor...oh well.
-
Good to hear Stinger...been to Mr. Donut lately? Is that still there? I think we are in good hands....and am comfortable with the decisions. At the end of the day, wins or losses will tell the story. I am waiting, and have paid my NFL access account, so all is paid.
-
I wanted Pryor so am having a hard time getting over it.....I would love to see a big hitting safety, ala Tatum, Parrish, Lott, etc.....but hey, the kid seems solid so we will see. In Emery we trust eh?
-
That's why I like you Terra...Ditka style. Get things done, or eat dirt. You are OK with me, despite my bitching......have a good one, rock on!
-
I say what I did not out of jest...based on my experience here. I think I would feel better with you there, and the lineup I have identified....although Terra might not last long under the media blast, he would likely be very entertaining in the meantime...and look after the Bears throughout. Life goes on.
-
Jason for manager....I can say no more. Perhaps Terra for HC, and Alaska for assistant GM and the rest of the board to fight it out for remaining positions. The first round pick doesn't make sense to me, but who am I? Carry on soldiers, we all fight for the Bears in the end.
-
Wow, I didn't see that coming. Can't say I like the positional aspect of the pick....but in Emery we trust. That being said, don't know the guy at all.
-
I just cannot imagine taking another LB at this point, after taking two with pretty high picks last year, when we have lost one of our starting safeties, the other has had surgery and is not considered to be a lock (being kind here), and we have brought in some guys who have never started much. Don't we need a safety more than a LB? And if so, if Donald is gone and HaHa and/or Pryor are available, with me preferring Pryor, don't we want one of them?
-
Agreed.

Terra, how about the good year Conte had two years ago? Everyone was happy with him then, if I remember. The whole defence sucked last year, we had no leader, Briggs did not step up when Url left, instead he left the locker room before reporters could get to him at the end of the worst game the Bears D has ever suffered.... How did that feel to the young guys? Did you ever think what that might say about how much he is helping out on play calling during the games? The same guy who said he would never play with the Bears again a few years ago when SF came calling and offered him a bit more money? I accept Conte was not up to scratch last year; I would think we all do and so does he. But do we want to write off a guy after one year when he is surrounded by a failing D? Personally, I am quite sure he is at best a solid backup and if coached right could be a starter.....

I hope we can put the Cover 2 to bed now that Lovie is gone...
-
Why HHCD instead of Pryor?
-
Haha, I can take a joke, thank you for giving me a break...you could have been harsher. Haha, I need to be more careful. I have to say that I trust in Emery, more than I do trust myself, so will hope that what he does is best and not complain much. We have to give the guy a chance, and I have a feeling he and Trestmann are going to set the NFL on fire before it is all over. That being said, the more I see of Pryor, the more I would like him. But Donald and Tuitt sound good too....will be interesting to see regardless. I wish it were tomorrow! I can't wait for the regular season. Take care!

Haha, you got me...damn. What can I say. I would think that either Ratliff or Paea will turn out to be above average....and either could be excellent. Collins AKA Newton is good enough for a backup, and who knows, maybe he will work out in the off season and decide he wants to be above average... That being said, a great guy at DT would always be a welcome addition... But equally, a wonderful safety, like Pryor, would be a long-term investment too. I would not spend too much on RB or TE...they are a dime a dozen IMO. QB? Yes, if Trestmann really likes someone... Apologies for the spelling errors etc...what can I say?
-
I am not sure I would be thrilled with two DT's...we have Ratliffe and Peau, either of which could be solid, and Newton as a solid backup. Hmmm..... I have been more and more convinced that an elite safety would be nice. CB I just cannot see taking in the early rounds.... Of course, if there is a great find anywhere, then take him. No more McLellans though...
-
I have just re-read Jack Tatum's book and he notes that his primary job was really to strike fear in the other teams receivers....maybe that is different nowadays with the rule changes but I don't think so really.....I would love to have a good hard hitting guy back there who can also cover and who could take care of running backs too.
-
Agree there Stinger, but damn, with your avatars, who could not? Is there still a Taco Johns on Riverside? Mr. Donut on N. Second? I want hitters, that is what the Bears are about....Pryor it is for me if we go safety.
