  1. Now that sounds like a proper party! Have a great time, lucky you and your friends..... I will be asleep by the time the Bears start up their game, here in the UK game rituals are out the window, so will content myself to getting up early Monday, reading the reviews, and studying the game on Game Pass, which is a great new addition for me so am looking forward to that! Going to check out Exhibition Game 3 again here in a minute, game 4 was too full of backups for me....
  2. Webb seems lost in the wilderness, I am happy to see the staff making changes that previous ones did not and resulted in defeats...
  3. Haha, have to say I like this post....if nothing else the silliness becomes entertaining when things are quiet. Now that I have finally broke down and purchased NFL Game Pass, the only real option for those stuck in other countries who have to see every Bears game, I hopefully will have a bit more substance to contribute.
  4. Broadly speaking, Marshall is a lock to be an go-to top flight receiver, barring health issues, Jeffery gives every indication of being solid this year, but after that much potential but little definitive substance. The jury is out on this issue IMO.
  5. Hi All, I have been watching NFL Access and some other shows here in blighty and references are made regarding Cincinnati's team and them looking like the could be quite strong as they are very talented... How are we going to do on Sunday?
  6. I do not agree, despite the times where things get a bit silly I really enjoy it here and learn alot from the many who know more than I!
  7. It is reassuring to say for me that I trust Trestman and Co. and am quite sure they will do the right thing....they seem to be moving the team in the right direction. I have purchased NFL Game Pass so will now watch all of the games, with AMERICAN announcers, thank God, and be able to have a better viewpoint hopefully. Jeffery looked very good to me in Game 3, I have no worries about Marshall as he will catch passes as he has always done when needed, and with Forte utilised right and a much improved O line, things have to be better. 1st string defence looked good; like most teams if we had to go 2nd team things would look a bit wonky. Injuries always cause problems for any team. I am drinking the kooloaid and hoping for the playoffs this year, with the Super Bowl in mind within two seasons!
  8. Great move by the team and very nice to hear Ditka's positive comments about the Bears and his connection to the team via the Bears News....
  9. I was impressed with Cutler taking the blame for the interception as well, despite it likely not really being his fault. A grown up Cutler would be the best thing we could hope for, he has all of the physical tools and just needs the mental side to be an elite QB.
  10. Lovie was past his sell by date, he was never going to get us to the next level and made extremely bad decisions with the offensive side of the team. The only way anyone would want to keep him is if one was happy with being a marginal playoff team every year with an anaemic offence. Urlacher's failure to play this year speaks for itself, and he didn't help himself with his crude behaviour. I am hopeful that the new regimen will put us in the running for a Super Bowl and am optimistic about the future, which I would not have felt if Lovie was at the helm again this year.
  11. Although I agree that Jeffery should be better, if he came out this year and really played at a high level consistently, which he would seem to be capable of, it would be a great addition to the team and a bit of a surprise gift.... I would love it if Long came out and really shocked all with a high level of play right from the start. Hardin does seem possible as a surprise, he is way off the radar and if he could stay healthy would seem to have all of the attributes to excel. And at the risk of voicing no original thoughts whatsoever, I would love one of the three new LB's, if not two, to have a great year and show all-pro caliber capacity....
  12. An interesting testimony and sheds light on the majority of hard-working football players who play through injuries, and the resultant pain, to make a living. Much to admire there....
  13. McNown all the way if not a current player, he was an absolute embarrassment and a wasted 1st round pick. Current...hmm, have to think about that one!
  14. I definitely would be interested...
  15. I love it here regardless, most knowledgeable bunch around. Opinionated, yes. Do I always agree? No. Do I get a bit pissed from time to time? Yep...but still love it!
  16. I like having the big D tackles inside to stuff the run, leaving the ends to attack the QB!
  17. One has to hope that he is sincere, but at the least it gives one a reason to be optimistic....I am probably drinking too much kool-aid, but I think we have alot to look forward to. And at the least, we don't have to worry about another season of mediocrity, just bearly good enough to make the playoffs and be out, that we had with Lovie and Co. We need innovators and high achievers, let's hope that Trestmann and Co. will give that to us!

    Larry Mayer

Larry Mayer is simply a PR man for the Bears IMO, nothing serious gets discussed in his Q&A section, which is a real shame. I have yet to see any in-depth analysis or real insider information in that column, there is much more going on within this site in regards to analysis of the team etc...
  19. Great player, yes, but the fact he is a putz does detract from my overall view of him definitely and makes me a lot less sad to see him go.
  20. A two way street? How so? Are the Bears an unintelligent franchise? Not to me. Urlacher was a good player but not a good person necessarily IMO... We will see how he ends up in Bears history, but he will never be close to Butkus or Singletary. He will never be remembered the way that Singletary and Butkus were, not to mention other players who had less talent but much more character. Time will tell, and after about a month it already is.
  21. Indeed, exactly, he is not that bright and is seriously unappreciative of the fans and franchise that made him what he is today. I am glad that he is not part of the "new Bears" going forward and he will soon be forgotten IMO...he never apologised after his outburst last year of not liking fans etc....
  22. Agreed, I would tend to think that is an optimistic view with a new staff and system along with major changes to the O line and hope that Cutler does take a step forward, which I think he will to be honest as he has all of the tools and seems to have desire as well. GO BEARS!!
  23. You sure had it right on Harbaugh, he has really turned out to be an excellent coach. His words bode well for us, how I would love to see the Bears come out this year with an up to date Offence with the nasty Defence along to make for a great team!
  24. He made some comments to the effect mentioned above in a telephone interview I heard, I am not sure I would say a smear campaign but definitely the comments had an undertone of criticism....
