  1. I can't see how it hurts to have people make their own threads, particularly as there are some members who I am much more interested in reading than others...
  2. Insightful and well-thought out comments, thanks!
  3. Sorry to make you sad....let's see what happens. One win in the playoffs would exceed my expectations this year and leave me looking forward to next year. If they win more? I am more happy!

    Brandon Manu...

Good to know where you stand...with Terra. Speaks for itself eh?
  5. Cutler really did not look good today to me....bad passes, too much panic under pressure, etc.... Olsen missed a pass that would have helped, and a timeout called unnecessarily did not help either. Peppers was held down, and not much pressure overall on defence although very solid overall. O Line was not that bad really, about as good as one would expect from our O Line...is that going to be good enough in the playoffs? I will be happy with one playoff win.
  6. If we spend a first round pick on ANY DT then next year when our O Line is not a premier line-up we will all be bitching! GET A FING O linesman in the first round!
  7. Pretty much right with you on this one, although I might be more inclined to emphasise the importance of the coordinators more, whom I bet Lovie was forced to accept. Please don't give Smith a bit contract.....at least certainly not yet.
  8. Absolutely agree, lets not forget already how much we need help on the O Line...I hope we spend at least a 1st and another top 5 on O Line unless we get some big FA signing...DT would be nice but we are solid there, hardly so on the O Line.

    The Three Bears

All deserving, and as much as I hate to say it, Urlacher deserves special respect in his comeback from injury. Briggs could have been picked too, but oh well...l

    WIN!!!

Beyond all of my expectations for the year....thanks to Martz, Tice, Marinelli, the players...and dare I say it, Smith. If we win 2 play off games I am over the moon and waiting to see who can beat us next year with some top draft choices, getting rid of some dead wood and replacing with better FA's, and another year in the systems. GO BEARS!!!

    Finally

The Bears have exceeded my expectations by far this year and I believe that is directly due to Martz, Tice, and Marinelli taking up the Lovie slack. We now have a team that, with 1-2 O linesman and another year of experience in the O system could well be Super Bowl bound. I don't think we are quite there yet but we are on the way, we have a great D and a potential HOF QB in Cutler. I am praying for this year, but also thinking of just how good we can be next year with a draft focussed on O Line and D Tackle....
  12. Particularly since we beat the Packers and have a better record....
  13. Agreed, Packers look very overrated as do the Giants and a few others IMO. I think we win at least two of the next 4 games, quite possibly all 4. It is good for the Bears to be underdogs though, less pressure. Put all of that on the NE, NY, GB, etc...

    Defense

The defence and offence seem to be improving, even T Harris is showing some flashes of life and Melton and Idonije continue to impress. Linebackers are great, secondary much more solid than in previous years. Forte showing some real burst, Cutler can pass if given the time and O Line is improving. I honestly believe ultimate success will hinge on the O Line doing a decent, not necessarily great, job so that Cutler has a bit of time to throw. Give him that time and we are tough to beat. I also feel the Martz/Tice/Marinelli coaching staff give us a huge boost in experience in big-time football. I feel we definitely belong in the playoffs.....if we continue to improve, dare I say the big game?
  15. Well said, I noticed the announcers talking about Samuel when Philly looked beatable in the early stages of the game. Very impressive win for the Bears, if we can continue to progress the sky is the limit!
  16. What a great win tonight! It is a good day to be a Bears fan...maybe we can get to the playoffs/Super Bowl.... Great win!
  17. Bears put the whole package together with Cutler having a good day with decent protection, Martz calling a good game, and the defence showing up mean and angry. Bears win, 21-10. Best of all, shown on Sky in the UK!
  18. Although I am not jumping on the Lovie Smith fan club, I have to give the coach some due. The bottom line is that he is the coach and the team is 7-3.. That being said, I think that Martz, Tice, and Marinelli have as much or more to do with the state of the team than Lovie. Either way, I am happy we are winning. I was able to watch the Miami game and overall it was not a bad performance. GO BEARS!
  19. Thanks for the review, I always enjoy reading them!
  20. Small blurb on official Bears site says Piso is out for Thursday's game, who takes his place? I assume Roach, but wonder if anyone has seen anything definitive.
  21. We don't know if we need a stud WR yet because our O Line sucks so bad that Jerry Rice wouldn't be able to have a decent year with Cutler running around and picking himself up off the turf. I say pick O Line 2 of the first 3 picks in the draft and take the best athlete with the other. As far as Moss and TO goes...come on now, they would never have helped this year at all, and would have likely caused problems. It is a no-brainer, let them go somewhere else. Do we want the Bears to turn into a Redskins-like franchise?
