  1. I have to say I believe the Chiefs to be a wonderful team. I believe they were a young playoff team had they been healthy.
  2. Is he the only candidate to be provided a 2nd interview? If so...I'd have to call him the front runner. I've been candid on this board stating Ross is my pick, but obviously I'm not listening to the interviews. Whatever these candidates tell Phillips and others in the interview room has to count, but if they're telling them what they want to hear in stating they want to build off of what the Bears already have in place and try to win with what they have in place..... I have a hard time not saying they should have kept Angelo.
  3. Either way, it is a good time to be Flynn's agent.

Thanks for the insight on him- I have seen him on tv 4 times since seeing him in person at Camp Randall. I still want him if other needs have been filled and there is a need to replace Briggs.
  5. I've heard so much about RGIII to the Browns, but I see them making a big push for Flynn. Flynn would make sense with his ties to Holmgren/Fritz's style of QB considering their extended involvement in Green Bay.

Thus is why I stressed his pro-day and combine times. If he has great times- his skills, size and production are absolutely out of this world and he'll grade similarly to Blackmon.

Oh I hope you're wrong....if you put Burfict next to Urlacher he could play anywhere. He'd fill Lovie's position like Derrick Brooks always did and Lance Briggs always has. I'm not saying he's my first choice, but if they sign a V-Jax type and end up dealing Briggs (like some of us hope)....I'd love this pick.

http://www.thesundevils.com/sports/m-footb..._vontaze00.html I just wanted to get this message somewhere on this board that Vontaze Burfict is a guy I pray the Bears look at should they deal Briggs and sign a #1 WR in FA. I saw him in person in Madison last year (Fall of 2010) when he was a Soph. He's the best defensive player I've ever seen on the collegiate level....he would fit Chicago's LB tradition like a glove.

There are plenty of teams needing WR in the top 10...it is very possible both of these guys go in the top 10- especially if Floyd runs lights out at the combine and his pro-day.

It all depends on what Floyd runs at the combine and at his pro-day.... My guess is he'll run in the 4.4's and become a top 10 pick.
  11. Emery certainly has the most experience of all the candidates....but I'm a bit worried he may be a dinosaur. I'd rather they hire Ross, but Emery's experience is undeniable and I don't believe his connections with the Bears is a bad thing at all. I wouldn't hate this.
  12. Bostad just followed Cryst to Pitt to be their OC. Tice has familiarity with him from Tice's son being UW's 3rd String QB. The fact that he considered to be an OL Coach for the Bears rather than call plays for Pitt is a compliment to the Bears. It makes sense that he would stay and call plays at Pitt after JUST accepting the job there.
  13. No he can't spout his trap all he wants even if he plays well. It creates a terrible vibe for everyone and causes unwarranted hostility towards management. Briggs coming out and complaining only hurt the organization's negotiation stances with several players as their agents could point to all of the ticked off players on the club....Briggs being one of those players is an absolute crock. I understand that twitter is like a loaded gun for some of these guys, but for Briggs to support Chris Harris' crying ways was BS throughout the year as well. There is no question Lance is one of our best players and he is also PAID like it....new management will need a roster that buys into what they're selling...they need a roster that is conducive to facilitating an environment where there isn't a chip on every player's shoulder about their contract. There is a much less chance of that happening with Briggs here.
  14. Ah- my mistake! I'm just tired of seeing Briggs negativity in the news through the years and everytime I first read his name I think, "What now?"
  15. Funny how guys light people up next to Urlacher.... I've had enough of Briggs as there is an issue every other year seemingly...I won't forget him crashing his Porsche and refusing to cooperate with the investigation of the police. Sure his teammates love him and they chose to follow him as he didn't set a great example for everyone else as he cried publicly about his contract situation AGAIN. He helped create more adversity within the front office when it wasn't needed as they were already dealing with Kreutz's and Forte's issues. The Bears need a fresh start as bad as he does.
  16. What Briggs did to management last off-season was dirtypool. The contract he signed was front loaded and after the front was finished he wanted a new one. He goes public EVERY single time he doesn't get his way- I blame his agent, but Briggs facilitates his employment and doesn't mind killing morale. He can GTFO.
  17. Well it's the off-season and it's a message board.....so yeah. I'm merely speaking my piece here so I can feel better about complaining later IF they sit on their hands. Why would a team trade their only legitimate WR? That WR makes a ton of coin and that same team is looking at around 5-11 with or without him. Why wouldn't a GM want a bag of picks to help his new HC succeed and tailor the team to the HC's strengths? It is worth talking about as Cutler spoke publicly of wanting Marshall and Marshall wanting Chicago....with Cutler being perhaps the 2nd most powerful person in the Bears organization....there is smoke to this fire. In reference to Briggs- I believe multiple contenders would line up to acquire him for a 3rd Rounder as a trade could potentially humble him. I don't know for sure, but the Bears have got to be sick of dealing with his garbage so I hope they send him somewhere else. I got excited to the Finley speak as this was the first publication I've heard state the Bears will have interest. Who knows if it is true....but I HOPE it is. You're correct on not having a GM in place makes this all moot....but there is still staff in place at Halas Hall and that will matter for the immediate off-season at least to a degree.
  18. I live in Madison, WI and watch the Packers every week (yuck) and Finley had a terrible game against the Chiefs and that was it. IF Finley actually hits the market (I believe he'll be franchised) I WANT HIM. In regards to Blackmon---I doubt a new GM would want to deal most of his high picks this year and next year away for one guy. Besides, lets wait and see how Blackmon interviews...he may be like his mentor Dez Bryant in that regard and really put teams off. We'll wait and see. I'm in the camp to deal Briggs for a 3rd and then sending a 2nd and two 3rds for Marshall while signing Finley if they can.
  19. I 2nd Ross. He seems as bright of an upcoming star in the front office across the league. Great article on the Ivy Leaguer! http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/01/a_...c_ross_of_.html
  20. Oh I'm not stating he does EVERYTHING on his own- absolutely not. I'm only stating that every final decision ends with him...if he doesn't OKAY it...it doesn't happen. I don't mean to say Payton is a dictator or anything like that, either. I don't doubt the people around him aren't great, either. However- Payton was given all the control he wanted to actually go to New Orleans post Hurricane Katrina and it worked out very well for them.
