  1. Science may have a thing or two to say about this. http://dailycaller.com/2015/01/23/physics-...-science-video/
  2. Ernie was an incredible ball player and a great guy. RIP.
  3. Seems like he was once a very bright and up and coming mind. He obviously didn't get the most out of Jake Locker (although I don't know that anyone would have) and he is pretty experienced for a QB coach. Like the hire and I don't see the hiring of the QB coach as pandering to Jay. Jay hasn't been involved in this process at all and I still think that if I'm Fox and Gase, the first thing I do is try and contend with Jay while finding a young QB who you think you can groom. You don't just want to give up your QB and be stuck with pure crap. Very hard to win with pure crap at QB in this league. You can win with Jay. Heck, I was watching the pro bowl highlights and saw Dalton and Stafford playing. In no way are they better than Jay. They are at the very least, equivalents. I know Stafford has put up some big stats in the past but I don't think very highly of him at all.
  4. Big stink about nothing in my eyes.
  5. I got excited when I heard TE coach came from New Orleans. Turned out he was an oline coach their but wonder if he did actually work with the Saints TE's (given the success of Jimmy Graham).
  6. I didn't think Fales really dropped? Wilson doesn't have near the "tools" that Hundley has (not saying Hundley will be a better QB). Hundely was considered a top 10 pick entering the season. He didn't take the steps you'd expect but his tools are very very strong. Hard to compare him and Fales since Fales has hardly any of the major tools you look for in a QB. That isn't to say he won't work out, because the most critical tool is your ability to read defenses, anticipate and make the right throws, but he has a pretty limited overall skill-set in terms of arm strength, etc.
  7. Fairly certain Hundley is going to be a 2nd round QB (possibly as early as late 1st round). Don't think its very realistic that he's going in the 5th. Isn't Crowder also higher rated than a 4th rounder?
  8. Well, Emery would have went the other direction. He'd have looked the other way when the best candidate was staring him in the face (Arians).

  10. Patrick Willis isn't on that list but with Borland developing and Willis missing most of last season, some reports that the niners are looking to trade Willis. My presumption is it will either be a late round pick for Willis or they'll just outright cut him. If they cut him, given all of our needs, I'd think we'd look at Patrick Willis to help give us a leader as we transition to the 3-4. If we are going to get good fast, we will have to hit on draft picks, but we'll also need to be very good and creative in free agency.
  11. Bernstein is now contradicting his earlier reports and saying that Pace he has heard that Pace has insisted to ownership that Brandon be kept this upcoming season (and be evaluated by the new coaching staff) and that ownership has apparently accepted this decision. While we have had posters on both sides of the fence on Marshall, I think we all have been in 100% agreement that any decision should be made by the Bears new front office and coaching staff and that appears to be the case. W/Gase having the background and fact that decisions have to be made by very beginning of March, we'll know quick, but sounds like B will be around and I presume Jay will be too, which is perfectly fine with me (I trust the new staff to make sure this works better than it did with the past regime(s)).
  12. I completely agree with you. The last thing we should be looking at spending much money on is a RB. We have Forte for at least this year and Carey showed some flashes. Not sure what he is and I'll leave that up to the current regime, but if we do want a RB, we should be using a mid round draft pick on one. This is an extremely deep year in the draft and if we see a talent their that we really like, I have no problem going with that player and giving us a lot more depth. We can't just ignore offense, although we clearly have to be focused on defense and the oline.
  13. Yeah, Marshall has been pretty active lately. Kind of fired up about him. As much as I think he might be chemistry issue I hope he isn't. On the field I love what he does and I also love his freakin work ethic. Its insane. I look forward to starting to hear about Bears offensive players working out on their own, etc, and making us all forget about last year. This is a what have you done for me lately league and this unit has every chance to make us all forget about last year!!!
  14. Thus far I like everything Fox has done. Only thing that would have made me happier is if he could have landed Toub as our ST coach (which I know was never an option since he's under contract), haha.
  15. @ChicagoBears: #Bears have reached agreement with Ed Donatell to become their new DBs coach. He replaces Jon Hoke, who has been informed he won't return. This is a great move. Widely regarded as one of the top secondary coaches in the league.
  16. Probably exactly why he was hesitant, however, lets get the right man to install something and if he kicks ass and gets another job, well than It means we had a good season and I have faith in Fox finding new candidates.
  17. Adam Jahns ‏@adamjahns 1m1 minute ago Mobile, AL In other coaching moves, sources also said that strength coach Mike Clark will not be returning for the #Bears. 0 replies 0 retweets 0 favorites
  18. Good deal. This is pretty cool. About as excited as I've ever been about a coaching staff.
  19. Dan Pompei ‏@danpompei Some plugged in people believe Charlie Weis has better shot at Bears OC job than Adam Gase. Critical hire; Fox is moving carefully.
  20. Fangio seems to be a huge fan of versatility and wants his plays to run hybrid formations. Not sure which part of the 3-4 scheme is the most critical but that front 7 in a 3-4 seems so important, whether it is the athletes at the LB position who play well in space or the ends like Justin Smith who can contain or the NT.
  21. Winston's T/O rate isn't really that alarming, especially if you look at the film of FSU and realize how bad the skill positions were this year. The numbers he put up and the way he plays is extremely impressive, imo. Whenever I've watched FSU the past two years, I always walk away impressed with Winston and knowing that the guy is going to go off in the 2nd half. He is just a flat out good football player who is not at all afraid of the moment, the pressure, etc. He has "it" on the field. Extremely perplexing since he clearly lacks "it" off the field. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if he stays out of trouble, he's a once every 5 to 10 year type QB talent.
  22. I can't remember the article I read it in, but it was some Bears capologist who said what this year's impact was (which was large) and than next year it gets much smaller (depending on when you do it). This year, the only way you move Jay is if you trade him. Cutting him is just far too costly.
  23. I literally get sick at the idea of Mariota on this team. I understand if Chip wants to get him, but other than if he lands with Chip, I think he will be a lousy QB who has an extremely high bust rate. Only QB worth taking (based upon his football ability) in the top 5 is Winston, imo.
  24. After this year, I read where cutting Cutler only creates like 3.5M in dead space which isn't much at all.
  25. Jeremy Stoltz retweeted Jen Lada ‏@JenLada 11m11 minutes ago Some Bears players have been told Adam Gase will be the OC in Chicago. Kyle ‏@Ky1eLong 4m4 minutes ago Gase Kyle ‏@Ky1eLong 4m4 minutes ago I haven't heard anything internally but seems like u guys have it figured out Kyle ‏@Ky1eLong 3m3 minutes ago I repeat - I know what you know Jeremy Stoltz ‏@BearReport 12m12 minutes ago Now the Colts say they won't let Rob Chudzinski interview anywhere. Obviously that includes the #Bears.
