  1. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m1 minute ago Saints officially released LB Curtis Lofton today. Presume Bears will touch base with him.
  2. Troy Renck ‏@TroyRenck Terrance Knighton is not close to a deal with #Raiders...seen that out there. They are still in play along w #Redskins, #Bears, #Colts
  3. Titans reportedly becoming more aggressive. I think we'll get something real from them. Not sure if we will move up to #2 but I expect at least a 2nd and a 3rd, if not a 3rd and a future 2nd.
  4. Aaron Leming ‏@AaronLemingNFL 8m8 minutes ago I'm getting mixed returns on these Cutler trade rumors but I will say that @dan_bernstein has legit sources & it's very likely true. #Bears Aaron Leming ‏@AaronLemingNFL 4m4 minutes ago I will say, there was a rumor swirling last week about Cutler to the #Titans for basically the swap of 2nd & 3rd round picks. #Bears Dan Bernstein ‏@dan_bernstein 10m10 minutes ago Source: #Bears actively shopping Cutler, would move him for "reasonable return." Offers to this point have underwhelmed.
  5. I agree it will likely be ugly without Jay and I think QB is a crapshoot but I have a lot of faith in this regime and am okay with them wiping the slate clean and trying to build this thing and get it sent in the right direction. I also think Kap would be a pretty good fit if we are looking into turning ourselves into a power running team with a strong defense.
  6. Evidently they already have some offers but are working hard to maximize and get more in return. I've said it before and I'll say again, he'll be gone and we'll get more than we expected for him. There is zero QB market out there and it is a weaker QB draft (that said, Its all a freaking crapshoot anyway when it comes to QB's, imo).
  7. He also wasn't much of a fit in the 3-4.
  8. John Mullin ‏@CSNMoonMullin 22m22 minutes ago #Bears in play with #Buccaneers ILB Mason Foster - not a covg fit with Cover-2 base but solid inside where #Bears want to funnel runs
  9. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...h-stephen-paea/ Had a great contract year with us and wish him the best of luck. Too bad he couldn't have put it together sooner.
  10. Justin Smith is also retiring for the Niners.
  11. Allen's ends after this year and I thought Houston actually doesn't have much guaranteed money left at all (at least from a cap perspective). I thought we could cut Houston for relatively cheap.
  12. I hope we aren't about to give him big money. He wasn't really all that great last year. If this is more just bringing a stabilizing veteran who can help teach some young safeties while we clean house, fine, but lets not tie a bunch of money up in Rolle. We should be aiming higher, imo.
  13. They might hamper us this year but starting next year none of them will really hamper us. Also, I can't really blame Emery for Young. That was a really good value signing and it is just unfortunate that he had the injury.
  14. I wonder if Willis rethinks this and goes somewhere where he is comfortable. Maybe reunites in Chicago with his old DC?
  15. I will tell you right now, I am okay with this move.
  16. This is interesting. Curious how he will handle more playing time, etc. Definitely fills a major need. Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider · 23m 23 minutes ago Pernell McPhee to Chicago Bears on five-year, $40 million deal, nearly $16 million guaranteed: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/...0309-story.html … Pernell McPhee emerged as top under-the-radar pass rusher with 7.5 sacks behind Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil, played half the snaps Aaron Leming @AaronLemingNFL · 37m 37 minutes ago Re McPhee: was rated the 2nd best OLB behind J. Houston last year via @pff & can be effective at either OLB or 5-tech. He's 280. #Bears
  17. Surprised Eagles were able to get back a pretty high upside young player in Kiko. This might actually bode well for Forte. Haven't heard league perception. Obviously Lesean is better but both are old and have high mileage (in RB terms).
  18. Didn't see this and was surprised. Chip getting one of his former Oregon boys.
  19. I think if either QB is somehow there at 7, Bears will select him. Mariotta, while I have my personal doubts on him, has a lot of strong leadership qualities, etc, and big time tools. I just think he's relatively high risk given none of us know how well he'll be able to anticipate and run a pro offense.
  20. Reported by local radio, etc. Everyone was kind of excited about him in preseason, before he went down. He's never been able to stay healthy though.
  21. https://twitter.com/jasonphilcole/status/571343926394814464 I like their history of trading high picks for veterans (see Trent Richardson deal).
  22. A lot of the quotes were from Mooch (who had no problem being anonymous). Why in the heck would a scout for an NFL team indicate what team he worked for (as that might give insights into that organizations views of a prospect).
