  1. What does that say about hte level of talent on our D that we lose our top 4 LB's and we play better. LOL.
  2. Peggy Kusinski 14 mins · iOS · ‪#‎Bears‬ injury report includes: Briggs, Boggs, Bushrod, Dixon, McClellin all ruled OUT. LB Bostic & McManis Questionsble & did not practice
  3. Did anybody notice that 2 straights weeks, Trestman called out Marshall.
  4. Suh, along with our young DT's would be fantastic fit and depth and I'm all for spending the money. I'd also be intrigued at what safety / lb would be out there.
  5. The biggest reason I have faith in Cutler is this is the first time in Chicago where Jay has had a good oline and consistent playbook and under both years under Trestman to date we've seen significant growth in the level of calmness, etc. I think at some point we'll see more of this stuff go away. I already think we've seen so many less WTF Jay throws this year then a year ago and multiple years ago, still, there have been some pretty foolish mistakes and the pick number is excasperated by at least two that were entirely on the skill position players (Marshall - 1; Bennett - 1). Take those away and you are talking about a relatively minimal number of picks and a pretty good TD / INT record, a significantly improved completion %, etc. I just don't understand how we were so conservative in the 2nd half and how we haven't gone to the deep ball more often, especially since we would seem to have set it up so nicely the past few weeks.
  6. If Jeffrey wasn't healthy, why would you be running him on reverses, fake reverses and trying to get him the ball in space? Makes zero sense.
  7. Rodgers is insane. People seem to not understand that. He is the best QB in the NFL and his skill set matches it. Put him against our D and we are going to have a lot of trouble. He has a hose, can run, and is extremely accurate with the ball. Oh, he's also pretty smart with it too.
  8. Bears remain very secretive about the injury.
  9. Agreed...the extreme quietness of it is odd, although the latest report indicated Bears don't believe it is a season long injury. However, by all accounts it was a scary injury.
  10. If you notice, Jay has not publicly blamed anyone but himself in regards to throws this year. He's been a much more mature player and it really started last year after he had his child. He's doing what you want QB's to do, he still takes responsibility, regardless of the situation. In the case of Marshall, which was even more evident, he just said miscommunication and didn't put blame on Marshall or say it was his fault, just that he had to work in practice or something along those lines and get better and fix those types of issues.
  11. Uh oh. Knee injury. Makes me think based upon reaction he's done for the season. We've had extremely bad luck in the injury front the past year or two.
  12. More importantly, practicing is so important to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  13. After that play, Bennett, immediately put his head down and he apologized for Jay about the bad route. Bennett was supposed to settle on that play, not keep going.
  14. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...1001-story.html + Slausson / Garza in pads although not full participation.
  15. Trestman was quoted multiple times indicating that Marshall was supposed to run a hook route and he ran a hook and go route again. Marshall even apologized to the media yesterday for ignoring them and said he has to work to get better, etc. Week 1, Bennett, while not the same quotes, had similar quotes and you could even see Bennett apologizing to Jay immediately after the pick was thrown (1 of the 2 picks in the Buffalo game). You have to watch the game. A good offense isn't all on the QB...are they a crucial part, certainly, but it isn't the only thing and its no secret the very best offenses have consistent personal and consistent systems and are able to outrefine the rest of the league because they are more synchronized, etc. This offense in general has been more synchronized then a year ago but its still growing. It is early in the 2nd season of the system.
  16. Wait, we should have won this game? How? We never stopped them?
  17. If not for Jay, one of the picks was on Marshall. Have you heard Trestman talk about it. He threw one pick, it happens. Big deal. Guy is on pace for 40 TD's.
  18. I've been saying it since last year, this is a different Cutler and we are seeing him grow. I hope Dilfer is right and he can be top 5, but I have no doubt he's top 10 and will have a very good season. He's been good in every game. Hasn't been great yet, had moments of great, but those have been washed by moments of bad. 2 of his 4 picks have been on his teammates not being where they should be (Bennett / Marshall).
  19. Every team does. If I'm a Pats fan I'm doing it for Brady as well. Bottom line is QB's can only do so much on their own. Look at Brees record so far this year, look at Brady right now with crap oline and crap weapons around him. The very best play in consistent systems and have steady protection. Heck, look what happened to Eli last year when his oline deteriorated. My whole point to Cutler is why waste resources on finding another guy, when the one we have is fully capable of being a top 6-10 QB. Go with that and spend rest of the resources on other areas and ensure we put the right systems around him and maybe then he can be catapulted to a higher level. We are getting there from an offensive side but defensively so many holes to plug.
  20. I think the LB's. The middle of the field was torched and the majority of it was in the range where the LB's should be helping out. Nickel coverage was also torched significantly. Safety play was bad as well but lack of pass rush was also a huge factor.
  21. Sorry, I had apologized in a later post. I thought he was giving up on the Bears, which is something I find inexcusable.
  22. See I assume all Bears game vs. Packers will end in a loss. Makes it much easier to watch. I also think my young daughter has helped me. I tend to get more excited with the good moments but less disappointed with the bad. Bottom line, both teams have terrible defenses and the Packers have a top QB in the league, who I personally think is the very best QB in the league. Bottom line, add in a below average special teams unit as well, and we are going to have a hard time winning those games. I still am optimistic because we've seen progress out of younger players on D and our offense has continued to make improvements and well quite frankly I think it will keep getting better and get more and more on the same page with additional continuity and not many teams have Rodgers. I think we are a somewhere between an 8 and 11 win team with the most likely outcome being 9-10 wins. PS: Watch the Patriots game yesterday, goes to show that even the very best can be pretty bad when they have a poor line and or limited to no talent at the skilled positions. I also saw Brady throw yet another pick to a wide out who ran the wrong route (again something that happened a lot with the Bears in the early Cutler era). I still think a lot about being a good QB has to do with surrounding the QB with the right personnel and consistent systems. Most important being a good line and the consistent system. We are just starting to do that and we will continue to see strides. I'm calling it right here, people will get too high / low this year, but next year the Bears will be in the NFC championship game and quite possibly be super bowl champions. Remember this moment. I think our D will improve (and part of that may / may not be with a new coordinator depending on what happens).
  23. I thought you were giving up on watching the team. I'm all for various viewpoints. I think in my statement you can see I don't think Cutler is a top 5 QB and don't think he ever will be. I think he is top 10 though and I think you can win with him, however, it can't be without help from other phases. He is not good enough to do that, imo. I hope he proves me wrong but his long track record speaks for itself. I think he's been good this season though and while I put the week 1 loss on him and others for turnovers, this loss is on our defense and they can not be absolved. Bears need to fight to maintain .500 up until week 8 and then at that point, we see if they can break past that, imo. Schedule is just very tough early on and the number of road games is just shocking. Have to win against Carolina cause I'm afraid what Brady might do to our defense.
  24. Don't let the door hit you. Everyone knew we had a tough early schedule and GB had backs up against the wall. We will lose all the time if we ask Cutler to be better then Rodgers. Rodgers is better, hands down, he's the best. If we are going to win, we need Jay to play well but we need other phases to show up. Defense was absolutely horrendous.
