  1. One caveat - we will have a minor outage later this week; Fingers crossed this should be a pretty minimal one (1-2 hours max). The big lift is behind us and Az - we held it up a few days for you and were able to ensure no posts being lost
  2. With us on the new server and new software - please let us know how it is working. If you are running into any issues let us know. My immediate reaction is wow is this site running fast. I also recognize we will have some hiccups as the dns propagates.
  3. Let’s get to this game healthy and let this be the start of a truly new era of Bears football - one that puts the Bears back on the map as a truly elite franchise!!!
  4. Sweet - glad to see its working smoothly. Upgraded server for what is hopefully the most DOMINANT era in Bears football that is about to start!!!
  5. Hardy has shown a good motor. I think if it weren't for the Booker hype we'd hear more about Hardy. With that said - booker and Hardy's production has been against back-ups so I think we need to take it all in stride. I am a bit intrigued about the UDA Linebacker from UCLA. He has some real tools (sub 4.5 40 speed) and is making a shift from being an undersized linemen to LB. I am hoping he'll be able to stick on special teams and than continue to develop from there.
  6. Can you confirm you can see this and no issues. If you can see this - you are officially on the upgraded forum and seeing our new server. We finished our server migration and upgrade today. I will note that you may run into some issues in next 24-48 hours as we are on a new server - so your computer at home or work may access the site perfectly fine while your phone doesn't (or vice versa). Just let me know if you are running into any issues. Additionally - if you want to test post on here just to make sure everything is humming along that would be awesome.
  7. That td he threw to Rome was real pretty (despite Rome being out). Drive before was good too - that was a dime to Tyler Scott (on the pass interference). If he isn’t interfered with that might have been a 50 yard td. He was definitely rushing things and had a few spots where him rushing caused his footwork and mechanics to be rushed but there were a few special throws / plays in there too.
  8. It’s good - he need experience and starting out rough and bouncing back at end is good. Look at what Stroud did in his final preseason game last year (hint: it wasn’t pretty)
  9. Yeah - it will be like within the window that the migration happens. Ideally I would get done before the game but I don't know that the server will be migrated by than. And it would be the recent commentary.
  10. FYI - Upgrade ran into issues (no site outages - just some stuff on back end before we could get launched). It will likely be this weekend. We will also be migrating to a new, faster and more efficient server at the same time. For the record - I could take an approach and shut down and do some conversions to minimize lost posts (but with a bit more outage) - but will probably opt to just migrate over and instead of shutting this site down for a period post migration to make sure I basically reback up the database - will instead just live with 1-2 days of lost posts in order to maximize up time for the site (this should mean, *knock on wood*, minimal site downtime, but at some point when we switch over we'll lose about 1-2 days worth of posts in between the server migration. Note: The data base is large so I could restore it all - but that would require site down 4-12 hours for migration + than another 4-8 hours for the upgrade. I'll drop a note just as a heads up around the ballpark time that we'll get it rolling. My guess is it will be over the weekend - ideally after the game or on Sunday.
  11. I was happy with the preseason game - bears looked good. It’s preseason though and I’m trying to temper my expectations. I still remember Mitch’s first preseason game - that was the single greatest I ever saw a Bear qb throw the ball….what good did that do hahaha
  12. Want this site humming for a new dominant era haha. My guess is site will be down for an hour or two.
  13. Running a quick upgrade on site - should be back up later tonight but will be back online quickly.
  14. Plus if he walks at end of year, you should get comp pick back.
  15. Yeah my guess is he plays a half in each of the 2 preseason games he plays. Try to make sure he gets a 2 minute drill and maybe in one of games have him come out and play one drive in a 3rd quarter (maybe game 3).
  16. One other thing - to my point of have Caleb play the 1s. I don’t know if others have seen this or maybe I’m wrong, but I have taken note that Caleb is getting vast majority of his snaps against the 1s. Bears will occasionally work in 2s in with 1s but not as much of first team offense working against b defense. Like it - let iron sharpen iron and not baby this thing up for Caleb. I also think it is a good sign that Bears don’t see need to give him some “easier” reps. Felt like with Fields and Mitch they did it (in fairness they weren’t opening day starters either).
  17. For me part of it is - I don’t want Caleb playing against 2’s and 3’s. No benefit to Caleb and injury risk that some guy trying to make a name clobbers one of our starters just doesn’t add up. This is me presuming Texans wouldn’t see any need to start 1s. If they were playing ones than I would be in. My guess is Caleb just plays in game 2 and 3.
  18. They also get to spread guaranteed over the 6 years I think so that probably helps the cap situation, especially when Rome and Caleb are coming due. Fun to see Bears able to extend some existing talent (albeit I really look forward to getting to point it’s our home grown talent being extended like this :)). Kmet still only one I can think of…hopefully we start seeing an era where lots of our own draft picks are getting taken care of like this!!! But I lile message this sends. Highly productive player who has been great in lockeroom and community and taking care of him. Shows Poles understands pecking order and what is necessary and how to handle.
  19. I was hoping FLlorio somehow was off.
  20. This - I don't think this is an area I would cave if I were the Bears. Having that protection basically ensures Caleb is a Bear for 7 years and if nothing else ensures if Caleb ultimately balled out and liked it here so little, the Bears would at least have the leverage after year 5 to franchise and trade him. Getting rid of that franchise basically puts the Bears in a tougher spot where they would have that pressure applied more deeply in years 3 or 4 (again this is presuming he balls out). Odds are 95% of the time it won't come that way - cause if Caleb crushes it they will offer him a ton of money - but if Caleb got this in - and played excellent - he would have leverage as a UFA like no other player at a prime position would ever had (26 year old all pro QB as a UFA - that is unheard of and I could see a scenario where 3 or 4 years in, Caleb waiting that extra year to secure the BAG would be worth it. I really hope this is a big rumor and not actually the case.
  21. I hope it gets resolved this week and it is more of they are waiting to ink them both at the same time and just have some very small things to wrap up.
