Bears need to win this. Really tough schedule coming up.

You guys still think Cutler checks out of games
DABEARSDABOMB replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
Cutler really wasn't that bad all game. He had 2 sacks on back to back plays which I felt were on him (one being the fumble that led to the Panthers TD). Other then that, I thought he played pretty well. Missed a couple throws (including underthrowin the ball that was intercepted). However, he made a lot of good throws that were dropped for 1st downs (that were routine catches in this league). Those non-catches were huge as they prevented the team from continuing drives (and really prevented them from gaining momentum). Late in the game he came up huge though. Was real nice to see them get the ball to Earl. -
Get healthy Alshon and keep working out.

Finally going to my first Bears game Sunday

You got to see a good one!! -
Great win. Now its time to get back to business and focus on improving and getting ready for those Lions.

The game against the Lions is going to be tough. Lions are going to have their backs against the wall and when on can put up some points.

Chris Williams Permanent Residence In the Doghouse
DABEARSDABOMB replied to lemonej's topic in Bearstalk
Webb has had two straight above average games. He's going to have some bad ones, but those were two games that he had in which I don't think Williams would be capable of. That said, he'll also have a couple stinkers which I don't think Williams would be capable of having. -
Chris Williams Permanent Residence In the Doghouse

All training camp those following the Bears on a regular basis were saying that Williams was stinking up camp and there was a chance he wasn't even going to break training camp on the roster. That was an indictment enough. Supposedly he was lazy, put in little work, and didn't do anything the coaching staff asked him to do. Which is really pathetic when you consider he was fighting for a spot. -
They still have to do it against teams with above average to elite pass rushes. There are going to be games that the Bears are going to have to score a lot of points and against strong pass rushes. That is our achilles heal.
-
They had almost 200 yards of total offense in the 1st half. It wasn't like they weren't moving the ball. Game was very simlar to the Cowboys game. Effective offense in the 1st half (but not enough points to show for it), domination in the 2nd half.
-
They didn't get the points in the first half, but offense was moving the ball pretty effective during the 1st half.

Dude had his 3rd highest rating of his career. When you look at a small moment, things happen. Big picture, things are fine and the Bears are moving forward and getting better, which is exactly what they need to do.

Jennings is playing stellar.
-
Shea has looked pretty good. Where were you the other days when he had pretty solid games. Guy is getting better and has shown a consistent motor and knack for getting into the backfield.

Really fun night!!!

This will be a tough game. Lets step up and get a W!!! Protect the QB, run the football, limit the turnovers, attack their QB.
-
This offense will get better. And this Bears team will win 10 to 11 games.
-
I've long said they should have traded him. While he was a special returner, he's always had special blocking on those returns as well.

Not sure what game you guys were watching, but I saw Cutler miss on maybe 2-3 throws all game. Otherwise, when he got time he made good throws and when he didn't, well he still at times ad-libbed and made plays. If it weren't for the Bears dropping some easy passes (as well as Marshall whiffing on the one that led to the only interception), his completion percentage is much higher and the Bears offense would have put more points up. I had zero issue with the way Cutler played today. Offense made mistakes and the line was bad, but Cutler was solid.
-
Big game for the Bears. Rams are a solid team.
-
Given some of the questions going around, I will call it close to a must win game. If the Bears were to lose and the offense struggled, that would be terrible. However, I could see a scenario where the team lost but it didn't necessarily ruin the seaosn (e.g., offense plays well, but Bears lose on special teams plays/bad breaks or defensive lapses). This is a huge game for the offense and the team though. No doubt about that.
-
Point taken, but Cutler needs to take blame himself as well.
-
Agreed. Bears really need to get passed this game and pick up a win against the Rams. And Jay Cutler needs to mature. He's improved as a QB, but to take the next step, he has to mature as a man.
-
The worse part is, Cutler throws all of his picks in bunches and he certainly seems like it is primarily against the Packers. Cutler had won 6 straight games prior to this loss. I think most people are overreacting, but most importantly, I really hope the Bears learn from this game.

Personally I think it is far too early to say that. In week 1 the Bears put up the 5th most yardage ever by a Lovie Smith coached team. Week 2 was a disaster, but I'm not ready to make that statement. I think Marshall was the bigger need. That wasn't to say we didn't have a need on the o-line. And I still think this isn't the worse o-line in football. It definitely isn't one of the 10 best either though and the goal should be to get it to that spot.
