Two great games for Jennings!
-
Not sure what game you watched, but the defense was outstanding.

I 100% agree. However, I actually am still very confident after yesterday's loss. The Bears did a lot of things wrong, but I no longer think the Packers out-talent them and I think as this offense improves and gels, it will do a better job against GB. What I saw was a horrible game plan with even more terrible execution. What Tice asked his line to do was Martz-esque early in the game. The best o-line in football would have struggled against this game plan (and we all know the Bears aren't that). The defense was outstanding last night though.

OL was terrible and the play-calling was terrible. The Bears could have ran the ball all night long, but for some stupid reason they didn't. Where was the mis-direction plays to throw the scent off. Where was the constant use of our running game (which was effective all night). Those are just some of the things the Bears could have done. Where were the adjustment (3 step drops). I could have sworn Martz was calling the plays. However, I don't think this game was as bad as it would appear. This wasn't like past games against GB, where the Packers beat the Bears. This game had much more to do with the Bears self-imploding. Consistent drops (and Bennett single-handedly causing an interception on what would have been a 1st down), bad play calls, and stupid penalties (Carimi's penalty was brutal and cost the Bears what would have been at the time some points). Cutler had a brutal night, however, to be honest, I fully expected him to suck ass from late in the 3rd on. He was spent after yelling at everyone and getting hit. The last couple sacks were 100% on him being an idiot holding onto the ball too long. Jason, I think it was you, but you talked about how Cutler was spending too much time looking at Marshall and last night, that is exactly what happened. He kept waiting for Marshall but with the double-coverage and the play taking too long, by the time he realized he didn't have him, it was too late. I really hope the Bears use the next 10 days to realize they have a lot of work to do (and I expected this offense to struggle a bit out of the gate at time as they still learn what is going on and get comfortable working with each other). Hopefully Forte isn't too badly injured and the 10 days off will mean we get him at near 100%.

Lets start off the year 2-0. Lets go Bears!!!

I thought the same thing. I had read Cutler's quote about a day or two days before the article on NFL.com and took nothing of it. But the media knows how to blow quotes out of context. Either way, the key to this game is the Bears executing. They have the talent to beat anyone in the league in my opinion, but how they execute, well, thats the difference, imo. Protect the football, protect the QB, get to the opposing QB, stay in your rushing lines, make sound tackles, and force some turnovers.

I'll be watching it with a steak grilling on some charcoal.

Best performance I've ever seen from a Bears wideout. I know they've had guys put up more yards, etc, but he had some dominant plays. Total game changer. Beautiful to see. He makes everyone so much better as they all move into more complimentary roles. I hope Alshon learns from Marshall's prowess and abilities on the field.

Defense did look susceptible. Real poor defense against the rush and the middle of the defense looked soft at times against the pass. Still a lot to work on. As a whole, I'm happy, but they will have to continue to improve. Oline really did a nice job after the 1st 2 drives. Spencer was the worst and Webb really had a great game. The thing is, Webb's issue has alwasy been the bonehead plays vs. the great plays. He's going to have to show that he can do things consistent and it will take a while to prove that. Hopefully he does. Kellen Davis is garbage. Rodriguez had some nice blocks though and I won't be surprised when he's starting by the end of the year.
-
Spencer has looked bad.
-
I'll agree with that. While we are Bears fans, YBR just seems like a total jackass with agendas and more often then not, provides very little (and often times) inaccurate information.
-
This will be a really tough game. Bears have a hard time blocking 3-4 defenses, so that will be a real test. Packers offense is real good and Bears pass d does give up quite a bit of points.
-
A. The quotes aren't bad. B. I understand why he'd want to get some more carries near the goal line. C. I'm sure he will get some ocassional ones. D. I love me some Matt Forte. Just a total professional in my opinion.
-
Unanimous in your eyes. I haven't seen it from anyone else.
-
The guy had one injury at Wisconsin. One. He got hurt while playing. Give me a break.
-
My understanding was they have been resting him a bit as he's still getting in game shape and recovering and they don't expect him to get back to 100% until he plays in real games as there is no way to simulate some of the endurance necessary.
-
McKinnie restructured his deal and will stay with the Ravens.
-
Stupid tackling caused the injury but the good news is he should be okay and he was considered more of a project anyway. Hopefully Wright/Conte step up and Hardin does a good job learning and developing himself during practices. He's a good athlete and I like his potential.
-
Not at all surprised. The guy is way past his prime and was brutal in the preseason.

Word on the street was that Williams really dissapointed the Bears this off-season and during camp. He wasn't in shape and really hasn't done what was necessary and that is why there is some talk of him being cut.
-
I was in Chicago the past few days and there was a lot of talk by the various analysts on the radio that they would not be surprised if Williams was cut. I personally don't see why you would cut him. He's still a swing tackle who can provide depth and as far as I could tell, a passable guard. However, I agree, Webb has won the job (well, he's proven he's the better of the two...which doesn't necessarily say much).
-
Agreed. What the Skins do doesn't matter, ultimately it is the results and Webb played a solid game. In fact, I think he played a better game then Williams (who was also solid). I think most of the experts that watched the film as well had similar comments.
