Its interesting because Urlacher seems to be having similar issues to when I strained my mcl and tore my meniscus. No surgery was required, rest and rehab is what I did, but anytime my knee made contact with anything, it would explode for a couple weeks (and I'd lose all movement). Slowly it would swell less and eventually it calmed down, but that was literally like 2 years removed from the injury. That said I'm not a professional athlete and I wasn't consistently going to therapists when it did swell. I would whack it on something (usually by diving during a baseball game) (so physically cause it stress), which would cause it to blow up for about a week to 2 (depending on how bad of a blow).

I don't care about his smarts. I care that he makes plays on the football field and stays out of trouble off the football field. Thats it.

King was on the Herd this morning and talked about how good Jeffery has looked in camp. Herd is picking the Bears for the superbowl. King wasn't quite at that level of confidence, but indicated the team is clearly in the mix/discussion but the key is going to be the oline. Said the offense looked good last night (King was at Bears game) and Marshall has been a beast.

I don't care if he's back for Indy. I want to know that he'll be back and healthy by the middle to the end of the year. I don't want to rush the guy back if it means we will never have a healthy Urlacher (and maybe we just won't ever have a healthy Urlacher). There is clearly something going on here and the Bears are being incredibly secretive about it.

Urlacher- espn- Now at 6 days without practice!!

Lot of rumors saying he's looking into getting surgery. I'm assuming its more of a minor clean-up, but I'm curious to see what is going on. -
Always liked Alex. A consumate professional and a good football player. Best wishes Alex!

Welcome back Rashied. Good special teams player and solid all around clubhouse guy. Good replacement for Thomas.
-
Sounds like he's making progress and that he's starting to get to the QB. You put his speed in space and he should make plays. The development with his hand on the ground will take time but the potential and tools are there. Seems like he's a very hard worker too.

Hopefully the Bears oline steps up and the team stays healthy. If it does, I think Jeffrey will take steps forward and eventually develop into the best home grown wideout in a long long time.

I know. Its been surprisingly quiet. I think all of that changes after the night practice and the preseason game on Thursday. I'm pretty pumped up, but right now, I'm kind of staying off of all media sites due to the olympics (I don't want to see any spoilers).

Agreed. With the older players, the Bears are going to give them the occasional rest. In fact, I kind of think it is relatively common for veterans to get some time off during training camp (especially under Lovie). Urlacher is pretty old. I hope his knee is okay cause the Bears really don't have a viable option at MLB (Roach won't cut it) if Url gets hurt. -
Arguably sure. However, the Lions and Packers both had great records last year. I can see the Bears being the best team in the division, but I can also see them being the 3rd best team in the division. The difference between the teams is minimal and in football there is a very small difference between winning and losing. The Bears oline is stil unrpoven and to be frank, so is its offense. No one knows how it will perform under Tice. They also have an aging defense. I'm very excited about this team, but there are question marks and the other 2 teams in the division (who finished #1/#2) both have prolific offenses (and I hate saying it, but you can't argue the stats and points the Lions offense put up) and as a whole good teams. I still think the Packers have the best team in football.

Interesting. I assume its something minor. Maybe another dlinemen or a corner? Or I suppose a offensive linemen.

He had some horrible things happen in the past year and punched his teammate right after his sister passed away. This past year he put up 3 sacks despite coming back from a serious injury (and playing at what he described as 60%). However, it sounds like he's still a bit out of shape now. Guy has a world of talent, especially when you consider the Bears picked him up for a 7th round pick.

I like it. Glad to have Forte inked and glad the two teams could come to terms on what is a fair deal (and in line with market comps).
-
Contrary to a lot of people on this forum, I think Forte has by and large been very classy in this situation. It is a business and he's always worked hard and put himself in tremendous shape. The Bears are also making a business decision. I personally hope the two sides can agree to a fair long term deal today.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2225624.story Bucs have told him he won't be with them. Bears have had interest in him in the past.
-
Sweet. Not as nice given that guys really don't hold out anymore, but its still nice to be done.
-
Completely agree. Jeffrey has potential and looks nice, but he's still a rookie that has yet to play a game.

OT: Explain your username and how you became a Bears fan

It was originally DABEARSSHRINE, which was led by Jeff (DAWEBMASTER). Part of the old rivals network (which crashed and burned and then started up again). When rivals went under, some people split off and had there own network and at that time, the site changed to Bearstalk.com. The Bearstalk domain was lost and at that point, TalkBears become the new domain, which is something that is now owned by us (vs. a 3rd party). -
I was surprised he fell so much and as an Iowa fan hope he does well. I think he'll have a shot to be a solid #3 wideout in this league.

ARE WE NOW JUST DELETING POSTS WE DON'T AGREE WITH?
DABEARSDABOMB replied to Lucky Luciano's topic in Bearstalk
I don't remember, but it must have been a suspension of sorts. I'm not going to say we are perfect but I'd like to think we are one of the most open and accessible forums on the web. Very accepting of multiple thoughts and viewpoints as long. My personal stance is, we are all entitled to our opinions and any opinion is fine, as long as we treat one another with respect. When I debate with someone in here, I know one thing, at the end of the day, we are all cheering like hell for the Bears to succeed!!! Either way, I think its great we have so many Bear fans with different perspectives to share. For pete sake, when we pass on lineman in the draft, I get an image of "Jason" throwing his remote at the TV, haha. -

Not sure where this is coming from but I don't' think anyone other then a spammer has ever even been banned from this site. -
I can't go any less then a B. I think it has a shot at being A. We got some guys with upside and who filled need positions. TO be honest, I could see this turning into a great draft. It also has some pretty high bust potential though. The fact that we took two cb's great is nice too cause we have a need there and Emery has had a history of finding some good corners later in the draft.
