  1. - Pretty excited about Marshall. - Indicated he talked to Marshall yesterday and Marshall is very bummed about the incident and perception but Cutler said Marshall is a good guy and Cutler will do what he needs to keep him out of the club. He said don't be too quick to judge Marshall though - When talking to Marshall said they needed to be patient and he's going to have to work and get familiar with the offense, etc. - They talked a bit about Weems, he didn't know much about Weems - Talked about Eddie Royal signing with the Skins and Cutler interupted saying he had not been signed, indicated he'd love to have Royal on the Bears but it was dependent on if the price was right. - Indicated Knox was working hard to get back.
  2. Marshall might have punched a girl in the face (depending on which report you believe) and he's been stabbed by his wife and had multiple other incidents. Now I'm not aware of Marshall's past incidents involving him as being violent. Briggs had 1 incident in his entire career. I've never heard him involved in anything else ever.
  3. I think Moore would remain the nickel db regardless.
  4. Bucs spending a lot of money. I still believe this is too much money for a guard but what do I know. Either way I don't really think the Bears were ever really serious players in the Nicks sweepstakes.
  5. Mincey resigned with Jacksonville last night to a 4 yr deal.
  6. I'm fine with bringing him in. Bears need depth and he's a solid corner. He's just very injured. Unless of course the year off of football helped him.
  7. He is a very good special teams player. I wonder what the cost was.
  8. Briggs has never had an off the field incident with exception to what probably was a DUI. Again, not something I condone but not even in the same arena as the type of crap most athletes get in trouble with.
  9. To point out, this happened yesterday, so I'm assuming a lot of stuff is still out there. I'm not surprised the Bears didn't know (if that is the case).
  10. This could be terrible, especially because the Bears, even if a deal is nixed (and it turns out to be serious and he gets suspended...not to mention it makes him a giant problem), the Bears would have missed out on all of the top wideouts.
  11. They were at 26M to start. Take off 9.5 + 3M and that is 12.15M. That would bring you down to 14M or so. You also still have to sign your draft picks and other FA's.
  12. I agree he's better than some of our other guys but he has had 2 straight unhealthy seasons and at this point you have to have major concerns over his health. I will point out that Landry has the same issues. I like Conte quite a bit and am okay bringing in another safety to compete. Especially since I think the Bears will give Wright another shot.
  13. Not at all. Depending on if the Bears get a DE in FA (which it looks like they will), I fully expect them to go cb early in the draft.
  14. Not sure it was on the Bear report, but quite a few people reported it, including Jason Cole of Yahoo. I think he was visiting tomorrow.
  15. I don't know. Bears didn't beat around the bush and just jumped in and signed him. I think the difference is only about 1.5M (between him and a cheap backup) and that probably doesn't ruin things, although I could be wrong. And Jason is significantly better than an ordinary backup. Dude could start on a few teams in this league. I also am not sure if the 3M dollar is the exact amount yet or not.
  16. Not so fast...reports out there that Williams will be taking other visits and Suntimes just put up an article saying Bears are still in on Williams. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...bell-signs.html Cripes I just got crazy giddy.
  17. I had heard it was the Panthers pick but I could be wrong. I think the big difference, even though the average cap hit is close (Marshall is 2M less technically) is the fact that the Bears don't have any guaranteed funds so technically they could walk away from Marshall at any point.
  18. I think the Bears leaked stuff intentionally to throw people off there trace. Normally I'd call myself a conspiracy theorist, but Emery wants to keep things hush hush and it seems like he's done exactly that. I wonder what is next.
  19. With Finnegan getting 10M a year, I'd say the odds of the Bears drafting there next CB (1st or 2nd round) appears far more likely. Bears are not going to pay a CB 8-10M per year.
  20. He was a special teams player on the Niners last year.

  22. The knock to some people, is that 5 of his 8 sacks came against the terrible Colts. The massive amount of pressures is a really good sign though.
  23. Tried to verify on twitter, no verification. Williams has not yet agreed to terms with the Bills.
  24. Curious to see the details. Great move for the Bills. They had a lot of money and need to find a way to become relevant.
