  1. To close the loop on this. Vjax signs with the Bucaneers. 5yrs 55M. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...incent-jackson/
  2. Wimbley is guaranteed 4.5M this year. The problem with his deal is some terms in it that will force the Raiders to guarantee an additional 17.5M (and impact there cap) if he is on there roster by Friday. The full extension he signed last year was a 5yr 48M deal. Which would put his average over that deal at just under 10M per year.
  3. McCown would cost 1.5M. I guess the question is do you prefer that or now that you invest 2 to 3M in your backup do you go with a cheaper option? It is a 1 year deal per Schefter.
  4. One rumor making rounds is #Buccaneers tried to trade TE Kellen Winslow to #Bears who did not bite. Per Brad Biggs.
  5. Quality move. I expect McCown to be cut and Enderle to remain the backup.
  6. Supposedly Abraham wants 12M per year. If that is true, than Freeney probably wants similar. Not saying it will happen though. But when guys like Whimbley are talking about 6-7M how the heck do those guys get 12M per year. Maybe Whimbley is about to get paid a lot more than I think.
  7. I don't think he will get anywhere near that, but if he did, he isn't signing with the Bears. Mincey had 8 sacks and is 28 and the talk is he'd sign for anywhere from 4-6M per year. I realize Freeney is the better player, but he's older and has had injury issues, so I'm not sure he would get more.
  8. League source says TE Kellen Davis will visit the Cowboys, Steelers, and Bengals.
  9. First year as starter. Lot of scouts have said some good things about him.
  10. Not surprised. I fully expected such.
  11. Mercilus is dependent on what the Bears do in free agency. If they sign a nice DE, they probably don't go that route. Martin would be quite nice.
  12. He played well. McNeil is solid too. The thing that really worries me is both of those guys have major health red flags.
  13. Some reports indicate that. However, Sean Jensen (Sun Times) and others have indicated we started with 26M (including Forte). So this would bring the total cap space down to 19M. This does not include money set aside for draft picks and the resigning of other players.
  14. Bummer. He would have been a nice signing and I figured he'd have been interested (in the right price). That of course assumes the Bears had interest.
  15. Nothing available in FA. If there was, the Bears would offer them the moon.
  16. Have the Bears cut Meriweather yet? Or was he just a 1yr deal? I don't remember.
  17. He's a good player. Makes a lot of sense at the right price. Definitely not a guaranteed starter though.
  18. One thing to remember is Winston is a RT. Carimi is supposedly an RT. Not sure how much sense it makes unless the Bears think one can play LT.
  19. Don't be shocked if the Bears eventually add Freeney (if they go the right of a Winston or Nicks/Grubbs). I say that because the latest reports seem to indicate he'll eventually get released and I think he'd like playing for lovie and the Bears defensive players. Plus he wants to win and would probably be willing to take a bit less (and a short term deal) late in his career.
  20. He was better than Carson Palmer last year and would still be the Raiders QB had he not went down. He's a really solid backup and when your total cap is around 120M, I think you can spend 3M on a good backup. Especially after we saw what happened with the Bears last year.
  21. He will be visiting the Chiefs first. Biggs indicates Bears had interest, not sure if the Marshall deal impacts it.
  22. Supposedly his contract would be for around 3M. Per Jason Cole of Yahoo.
  23. FYI. Winston is supposedly set to visit Miami later on today.
