Addai is a really good pass blocker, however, I think you want to have a back who is a good in-between the tackles short yardage runner to compliment Forte and I don't know that Addai is that guy. I actually think Barber is a really good fit as that change of pace guy, where as, Bell is the better guy if Forte is out to get the bulk carries. So I kind of like the three rb's the team currently has in the fold.

I tend to think Barber is better than Jacobs. There have been sometimes where Jacob has looked pretty bad since getting his fat contract. That said I realize Barber made some boneheaded plays last year but he's a pretty solid backup if the Bears want to keep him (and not expensive). I'm one of the few not calling for him to be cut, since you want to have at least 3RB's on roster and I'm fine with Bell/Barber if Forte suffers another injury.

The Patriots have 4 major targets plus some rb's who can catch the ball. Thats quite a few weapons. Packers have Driver, Jennings, Finley, Nelson, Cobb, and James Jones. Saints have there TE, Meachem, Colston, Henderson, More, and Sproles.

You guys talk about wanting a great offense. Look at a lot of the great offenses in the league and one thing they have in common is not only a great QB, but great offensive weapons. You want to be high-profile, give your QB lots of toys. I want at least 3 wideouts. That could mean resigning Roy and drafting 2 (which probably isn't preferred) but the Bears need to give Jay weapons. And they also need to make sure they pick who they want at TE (whether that is Davis or a guy like Carlson) to go with our backup in Spaeth.

FA OL, FA WR (VJAX), and FA DE (Wimbley). Sign me up. Add a wideout in the 1st. I'd be exstatic if the above came true.

The 3AM story is very well known. And Vjax was not the only one there. But as a whole, there are a lot of reasons why the Chargers aren't fully enamored with Vjax. That said, the dude is productive and the Chargers have lost a lot of talent in FA the past 5 years.

I am 100% sure that the Bears are drafting a wideout in one of the 1st or 2nd rounds. This is irregardless of whether they sign Jackson or any other wideouts. That is why I think Royal is a really great option as a 2nd FA wideout signing.

I think the comparison to Knox is fair, however, Meachem is a bigger receiver. Knox and Hester are two of the faster wideouts in the league, but they have size/strength issues that Meachem doesn't have. Meachem also has better hands. How good he will be away from New Orleans is yet to be known, but I think in a situation where he is more of a go-to-guy we would see his numbers increase. But we also know I happen to think our wide receiver corps is pure garbage.

Royal was hurt. When healthy he put up a 90 catch season with Cutler throwing him the ball as the #2 option behind Manning. I think the comparisons being used in that statistical analysis are not very accurate. Meachem and Manningham are both better than Knox/Hester/etc. Bennett, maybe not, but everyone else, absolutely.

Meachem also has very very few drops during his career. I've seen a couple article who indicate that NFL scouts think Meachem is a better bit to succeed outside of New Orleans than Colston. Apparently there are quite a few scouts (based upon some articles I've read) who think Colston is more of a system guy where as Meachem is the type of guy who should excel in the typical pro sets ran in the NFL. I think Meachem would be a really solid signing. Dude is talented and I'm sick of the Bears having this untalented hacks at the position. I'd probably argue that 3 of the 4 wideouts listed above, whether pu-pu or not, are better than the Bears wideouts (maybe with the exception of Bennett but I base a lot of Bennett on what he did with Cutler when healthy; his injury issues have to be something you worry about though).

And it also depends on what the team thinks of Enderle. He was a late pick and was Martz guy. The Bears might not think much of him and you could have McCown as your 3rd stringer with a better 2nd stringer. McCown did a good job last year in limited playing time, but, we know what he is, and it isn't like he's some stud backup QB.

I think if you get other quality individuals, than it works well. Especially if you add 2 of the lesser wideouts plus draft a wideout early and sign a TE. Add in a CB and a tackle or a CB and a DE and to me that is a pretty damn good off-season. One in which your team has not only added more talent, but has done so in multiple areas.

Marcellius Bennett (or whatever his name is) would be a pretty good signing if you don't go Carlson. Above average blocker, young, physically talented. He's improved a lot and is a former 2nd round pick.

Meachem, Manningham, Eddie Royal, Lauront Robinson. Definitely no one the caliber of the above players, but there are some options.

He has major injury concerns, so I'd pass.

I'd argue you can upgrade the wideout position even after signing Mike Williams. I'd rather have Williams and Garcon or Wayne + a lesser wideout than Vjax and some garbage. Just my personal 2 cents. Especially since this is a deep wideout draft so they should be able to identify talent in the draft as well.

I'd be surprised if he's there than. I think if you want him, you trade down and take him late in the 1st or early in the 2nd, knowing that you take a risk that someone might be more in love with him and grab him even sooner.

I also think we'd be better spending that money on an impact DE than a wideout who makes us better but isn't like a Fitz, etc. I think in FA you are best finding bargains who slide or signing studs. Paying big money to guys that are in between can be dangerous, unless it is to fill the need to make the superbowl. And I think some would argue that Vjax could do that.

Robinson is interesting. Did he really finally break out or is he more of a fluke. He has great athletic skills so you have to like his tools, but the question is why did he get cut and struggle so much previously. The issue i have with Colston is he is more of a slot guy so I wonder how the Bears would do having there 2 best wideouts being slot guys (e.g., Bennett & Colston). That said, depending on the system the Bears run, you have those two guys, and add a speed guy like Hill (or Wright) on the outside and combine that with Hester/Knox and it wouldn't be that bad.

I agree. I've bagged and been anti Moss, but if he is running a 4.3, forget it and sign him.

Chad Henne would be an interesting option.

Dude wasn't even ready to play in there big playoff games cause he was out hammered till 2 or 3 AM. Jackson has all kinds of problems and I've heard tons of bad stuff about the guy from one of his teammates on the Chargers (who is a probowler...it isn't some nobody). I haven't necessarily heard it direct, but i've seen it via email correspondence with my buddy (who is also one of my senior's that I manage) whose shown it to me (cause him and I talk major crap on each others teams; his being the Chargers, mine being the Bears). Jackson is talented and he's clearly an upgrade but he's got flaws and some of them are concerning.
