Lovie earns an extension if we make the playoffs this year, make some noise, and than are 6-0 or 6-1 heading into a hypothetical bye week next year. At that point, count me in. Until than, no iffs ands or butts about it. The only exception I have is if we win the superbowl. I can understand that would lead to an automatic extension.

You must have a short memory. The Bears kicked the shit out of the Cowboys and in regards to the Lions game they dominated from the 2nd half on. A lot of our early struggles should have been expected with a brand new offense and a new oline. Especially when the offense is supposedly a notoriously difficult one. Buffalo has played quite good the past 5 weeks, record or not. And the Bears played well in that game. They left some things on the field but made a ton of strides. Packers committed penalties, often times because Julius Peppers forced them in that game. Peppers was a complete monster on that day against Green Bay. Panthers got clobbered with our 2nd string QB that is absolutely freaking horrible. And we ran for a ton of yards. That game was never ever even close to in question (we were up 3 scores early in the 2nd quarter for pete sakes).

All that said. Tyler Thigpen is a pretty solid quarterback so the Bears can't sleep on him and in a short week there is going to be very little adjusting that can be done on the fly. It is going to be a tough game, especially since Miami has a very good defense and a strong rushing attack. Oh and they have Nolan as there DC and he is about as good as it gets at disguises his blitz packages. This game will be a huge test for our oline, imo, as well as our dlineman. Step up to the challenge Chicago!!! Dolphins only losses are to very good teams (Pats/Steelers/Ravens/Jets).

I completely agree with your post and I think you hit the key positions right in the head. Surprising that safety isnt' on the list but I like what Manning has done this season (sans his PI this past week) and Wright has shown some promise in his limited action. Chris Harris isn't great but he's solid and has made some nice plays. When it comes to our corners, we could always use more, but you got to love the way we have found a new nickel back (Moore), but it is about time we start to look for a replacement for Charles Tillman. Plus if Bowman isn't going to eventually step up and play like the Bears have felt he can (once he's healthy) than we will need someone cause Tim Jennings isn't a legit starter. I'd probably put our needs in order as: OT, DT, WR, CB. DT/WR/CB are all very close to each other because we lack an elite player at any of those spots.

The defense has played phenomenal and the Bears have played hard all season. All I see are people constantly whining about the Bears coaches and you know what, I think they deserve a little bit of credit. We have one of the top ranked defensive units in the league after 2 plus years of having one of the worse defensive units in the league. Job well done guys. Offensively we've made progress each of the past two weeks. Martz has done better and Tice has gotten the oline playing better than it was 3 weeks ago. Hopefully the coaching staff helps the players continue to progress and we see the Bears continue to progress and win!!!!

Seriously? Cutler is going to make mistakes but the last two weeks he's made very few and he's made a ton of positive plays. It should be pointed out that we wouldn't have even been in that spot had Jay not made some nice plays to extend the drive. And no, he would not have ran that in for a TD. He would have gotten clobbered around the 4 or 5. Jay should have thrown it away and we should have gotten 3 points.

2 straight games where they have been better. They clearly have improved. No one said they are great or even good, improved they have been.

Listen, if you think the Bears aren't getting their moneys worth than you aren't watching the games. Peppers has been the most dominant defensive player on the field pretty much every single game the Bears have played. Nuff said!

What the freak Knox? How many times do I need to see you cause picks. We had what should have been a big 20 plus yard completion and 3rd down conversion and instead it is a pick and Minny is driving thanks to 2 defensive holding penalties.

Tribune just reported it. This means it will be BB and a banged up Percy Harvin. Both of which are questionable. You have to expect to see a whole lot of Apete.
