Who are you watching? Are you watching the TE that can't block, fumbles, rarely gets open, and oh, quits on a ton of routes?
-
I completely agree with your assessment. I thought Cutler did a better job today getting rid of the ball quickly but in most instances where he was hit, he was hit early and quick and it was in situations where often times there wasn't even an overload, it was just one of our tackles swiveling the wrong direction and not even touching the guy. Cutler might a couple poor throws, but he also did a nice job avoiding the blitz on multiple plays and during those situations into something and he did a nice job hitting some under-neath crossing patterns. He also suffered as a result of some drops. Still, I wouldn't say Jay had a good game, nor would I say he had a horrible game. But it really is almost impossible to have a real good game without an oline.
-
I can't agree with you at all. Martz is completely hindering the offense right now. The oline is terrible and instead of adjusting and dealing with it, he is putting the Bears offense in even worse situations to succeed. Oh and DA needs to be on the field. You can't just have small receivers because there is such a smaller margin for error with those guys than there is when you have at least one bigger WR on the field. Oh and Olsen with another POS game.
-
WTF, another tackle doesn't block anyone and Jay gets killed. Worse of all, we had a shot at a FG to tie this thing. Absolutely freakin disgraceful.
-
Martz combined with our oline = Cutlers funeral. Shit.
-
Time for a Bears TD!!!
-
That looked like an underhand pass, possibly a fumble.
-
Omilaye with an atrocious job there. Nice analysis by Billick all day. Our OC has been incompetent as has our oline.
-
freak u oline, pick up the blitz

After those three passes? The ball to DA was only catchable by DA, it wasn't a turnover looking to happen. bad pass, certainly. The pass to Knox was ill-advised and on 3rd down Jay was just throwing it away. Why Martz called for 3 straight passing plays is beyond me. Dude is showing why he hasn't been in football the past couple seasons. Hopefully he adjusts. That said, Cutler has had some nice plays today too. He's been rusty too though, but he's made some real nice gains and big plays out of nothing and is clearly head and shoulders better than the crap we saw the past 2 weeks.
-
Another nice throw to Knox. This is where I want a run and than a TD pass to DA.
-
Cutler with a nice throw under pressure to Knox. Knox with some nice open field moves, might get over-turned (the YAC at least).
-
2nd deep pass where we've had two players in the same spot. WTF.
-
Man, oline stinks. Jay avoids the blitz again but gets taken down. I must say, it is great having DA back in. I feel more confident now. And that pass to Bennett where Jay avoided the blitz, kept his eyes downfield and hit Bennett was a thing of beauty. Cutler has now gotten hit 6 times by my count though and it hasn't been because he's taking deep drop backs. He's made the 1st guy miss and still is getting clocked quickly.
-
Ok Jay, no mistakes here. I want at least 3, but lets get 6!
-
Seriously, a draw and you get burned for a TD.
-
It is one quarter. Seattle is owning the field position right now though so the Bears D had little room for error.
-
I don't understand that last deep pass. 2 Wr's in the same spot?
-
Last two Cutler pass attempts, 2 hits, 1 sack, and guys were pretty much un-touched.
-
Great 1st drive, offensive TD. Bad first defensive series as the Seahawks converted a huge 3rd down and torched the Bears secondary downfield.
-
I can't see how you can say the Seahawks don't do well off the bye. Whatever they've done in the past isn't that relevant since they have a new coaching staff now. I am not all that impressed with the Seahawks personell, but they have good coaches who will have ample time to game plan versus the Bears and as a result Seattle's players should be prepared. I think the Bears prevail but the wildcard, as always is the oline, but on paper, Bears just have so much more talent, imo.

The Pats have been asking for a 1st rounder for Mankins. Whether they drop that price or not, who knows, but right now that is too steap of a price. I'd consider a 3rd and a future 5th or something along those lines but I don't even know if I'd give up a 2nd rounder right now. I say that because I don't know how much Mankins will help this year. He'll be coming into the new system, having not played any games and it will take him time to get up to speed. Unfortunately I think we are probably stuck with what we have for the rest of this year and we will just have to hope that our oline can get better each week this year and that the Bears can bring in more talent during the off-season.
-
Cutler is probably pretty upset about this. First start in his career missed.

And his salary isn't getting in the way of the Bears making any decisions. Gould is one of the best kickers in the league. The big thing that scares me is I feel like we have the type of defense that should continue to improve as the season goes on and I would like to think our offense will too, but that is only the case if we don't ruin/kill our QB in the process. I am really hoping that Louis, Omilaye and Williams pan out as starters. Louis has made improvements and when he got hurt our line really fell apart on Sunday. Schaffer had just an atrocious game and Omilaye (whether you like him or not) is out of position on the left side. We need to get our oline healthy and get them playing consistently with each other. That alone should lead to some sort of improvements, despite the fact that they are ridiculously inexperienced. Note: Just because I say improvements, doesn't mean I'm stating that we'll have a good oline this season. That is impossible, but maybe we can come closer to the pack and just be the worse oline in the league instead of the worse oline of all time.

I feel the same way about Chris Williams. People are writing him off, but he looked pretty solid at LT at the end of last year and he's barely played this year. While the injuries are an obvious concern, I'm not overly worried about him being a bust yet. I think we'll see our line improve significantly with him back and Omilaye on the right side. Omilaye actually has been better than I think some people realize on the left side. The problem is, it still isn't good, but thats what happens when a guy plays out of position. Much like Chris Williams on the right side for a good chunk of last year involved him playing out of position. I want to see more of DA. It is obvious that Jay is comfortable with him and its good to have that bigger target to go to on a blitz. Plus, I really like the way DA seems to adjust to the routes. Something that Greg Olsen and Devin Hester appear too retarded to do (must be the whole "U" thing).
