  1. Here comes Paea or Hankerson, imo.
  2. The thing is, the teams that are passing on him, are passing on him for the same reason so if they don't think he can play, they wouldn't take him at 10 or 40. Eventually some team isn't going to be as concerned and say, screw it, but its just hard to potentially throw away a draft pick, when your medical people are telling you there is a better than not chance that medical problems prevent him from ever being the same player. And it isn't like is upside is a 15 sack end. He's probably a 7 to 9 sack good all around end. Which is fantastic and next to Peppers would be phenomenal but I think of him as a little better version of Alex Brown. Great to have, yes, but if Austin is on the board who is a first round talent and healthy, I'm going with Austin. However, I won't gripe if we get Bowers in rnd 2. But if he ends up never being able to play, I guarantee a ton of Bears fans will say, what was Angelo doing, he should have known.
  3. The Lions are heading in the right direction now that Millen is gone. They are doing some good things, imo. Although I am not in love with that wideout pick they just made.
  4. They do have a ton of weapons for whomever the QB is. But it didn't seem like a position of need at all. I guess though with garbage at wideout they figured they'd add a 2nd TE, which might not be bad, cause both are decent enough blockers and they'll probably run the ball a ton with Apete and than use a lot of play action to those blocking TE's, both of which are legit pass threats.
  5. Lions could take a chance at putting together a hell of a line if everything panned out.
  6. Little probably goes before the Bears pick. However, I'd be able to get behind Bowers at 62. The thing is, doctors have said there is a good shot he doesn't do anything in the NFL due to injury concerns and that is a pretty serious medical red flag. I also wouldn't be shocked if Bowers is there. Austin and some of the other guys we've thrown out, highly unlikely. But I'd rather take a character red flag on our dline than a medical red flag so if both Austin and Bowers are there, I'm taking Austin. I say that because there isn't a dline coach I'd rather work with a character red flag than Mr. Marinelli.
  7. Ok, I like it even more. IF he's a natural LT that would be phenomenal.
  8. If Cutler really said that, hillarious, haha.
  9. Austin is not going to fall all the way to our 3rd round pick. No way, no how.
  10. Sure, he had an off the field incident, but the guy can produce and is probably a much better fit in Martz offense than Rice. I'm calling it now, Bears will sign Santonio Holmes!
  11. I'll at least give JA credit for handling it classy, but man, those two guys that didn't make that phone call are idiots. And quite frankly, it just seems like a horribly unlucky sequence of events, but who knows. For now, I'll ignore it, but it could have been a complete and utter disaster where we ended up not getting our guy. Chiefs grab him and we are shit out of luck. It does say something to me that we liked him that much that we would move up though.
  12. Wow, after seeing this stuff this morning, sounds like it was a pretty bad goof by the Bears. I'd be ok if they decided to move there 4th rounder to move up in the 2nd round as a way to save "face". I'm happy either way. We got our guy Carimi.
  13. A couple years back the Ravens did the same thing to the Vikings and here is the quote from the Ravens GM: "The deal was not consummated," general manager Ozzie Newsome said at Baltimore's headquarters. "A deal is not a deal until I talk to Joel Bussert, and I never talked to Joel Bussert."
  14. Pea or Austin (I really want Austin cause I buy into Marinelli working with him) would look awful nice. And I wouldn't be completely stunned if Bowers was still around when we pick. His injury sounds really bad.
  15. When was the last gaffe? I don't recall us ever not pulling the trigger on a deal before. And from what I heard from NFL Networks analyst they indicated that it was more timing than JA doing anything wrong. There just wasn't time to get the approvals from both teams.
  16. My question would be, why did we draft a RT to play LT? Why wouldn't we let him settle into the position he is set to play and let him play there for the next 10 or 15 years. I don't want another Williams situation where we are constantly moving the guy to the point that he may never figure things out on the line (and yes, injuries were a factor and the fact that we had pure crap on our line also was a factor since it meant we had to really move guys to different spots to try to put together our best oline).
  17. Every insider within the NFL who works for tv/radio is reporting that it was what the Bears were doing and that was before Angelo's comments.
  18. So do you guys think we play him at RT or will he be at guard? If he's at RT, who will our LT be?
  19. NFL Network is reporting that we were moving up for Carimi. Deal was agreed at the deadline and after the Ravens confirmed the trade with the league the Bears were unable to confirm with the league in time and KC had passed in with the pick. Ravens wanted Smith and got him...Bears wanted Carimi and ended up with him! Pretty sweet, we didn't have to give up anything to get our guy.
  20. To me, the key is, without time to throw to the big fancy wideout, we are in trouble. Now, we have another young olineman to go with a guy that i really believe in (Tice). I'm going to hope that the Bears still go out and sign another lineman and we can really see things figure out. I don't know what the hell the Bears are going to do with the oline and where guys will play, but I'm starting to think we at least have some talent on our line.
  21. I don't get how a guy coming off of a serious hip problem, who was a bust until Favre got to him, is this huge priority to go blow our wad on. I'd much rather go hard for Ashmunga at CB. Just my 2 cents and I'd be fine if the Bears spent there money on Rice cause he's better than what we have, I just think there are major risks there.
  22. I'd have been happy with Carimi, Bowers, or Austin. I even would have been ok with Jimmy Smith (who went 2 picks earlier). I'm a happy camper. Carimi should be a maller and should play on our line for a long long time. I expect a dtackle with our next pick and if Austin slid I could even see us move up to get him.
  23. Fairley makes that dline even scarier. Vikings...ROFL. Never in my wildest dreams did I think Ponder was going #12.
  24. How does it work? Does the entire first round not occur today?
