A rumor out there regarding Amari Cooper and the Bears. For right price on ST deal, I'd say he would be a good replacement (and younger) for Keenan.
-
They can do minimal rework to a few deals and create another $20M in cap space.
-
I think they could move down a few spots from 10 - but I think at minimum 2 of first 4 will be on trenches, most likely 3 of first 4. RB will be one of the top 3 picks, imo. I also think there is a chance they take a TE.
-
I'm just not a fan of drafting a RB this early. I would have been fine paying Saquon last off-season, but I feel like getting these guys this early with everything else just doesn't add up. I am 100% fine drafting a RB in Rd 2 though.
-
Bears have plenty of cap space and can free up quite a bit. I'm okay if they hold for one more off-season for another splurge or two...but i think Dalman is worth overpaying for. I was a big fan of Khalil Mack or someone like that on a 1yr deal. Chase Young is now who I'm guessing - say a 2YR 25M deal combined with Dalman.
-
To your point - older DT's don't hold up well - and you can find real good DT's in round 2 or typically. I think we should add a free agent to help and a draft pick (2nd round or 3rd round - don't think 1st round makes sense unless Mason Graham falls to 10). DE I prefer in Rd1 and prefer big money in FA going to a pass rushing DE too.
-
He is on the older side - but relatively healthy player up until this past season where he tore his pectoral. Has a good relationship with Sweat and certainly could be an impact addition on the interior of the line. Prior to last year though the guy pretty much always played and generated a real nice pass rush from the interior. I would be very supportive of this move - sign him to a 2 yr deal with a 3rd year of dead money or something.
-
They also have quite a bit more wiggle room they can make via well managed extensions too. I also think I heard we were still closer to 50M - with other moves they can probably get to $60-65M.
-
I'm all in on this move.

That or if I'm high on Simmons - I draft my favorite dlinemen at 10 (or slightly lower) and than use my 2nd rounder and a 2nd next year to jump back into the top 20 or so and tackle a LT. Basically lock in 5th year option and 1st round with my DE and LT this year. It does make me a bit light in next year's draft as I'd be giving up a future 2nd too. At that point - the 2nd I keep, I'm moving down in the draft to a bit more to accumulate back some draft capital.
-
I think edge is a legit option too - I think LT or DE without a doubt. But I really see a scenario where they add Dalman at C and draft an LT - basically 4 / 5th's of the oline is brand new. Keep Braxton as a swing tackle/depth move, give Kiran time to earn a spot too (or swing inside eventually) - but totally changes the line. Young tackles on the edges, quality vets inside - really good balance on the oline and you have depth too. And it gets to the point Johnson and Poles made around totally remaking things. I really love that combination and if I were going to lean going heavy on oline vs. dline - right now I'd rather go extra heavy on oline to put the nucleus in place for Caleb more so and than use my next 2 picks to double down on the line (plus another free agent signing).
-
I think if they can make a strong signing at Dline in free agency, which I think they are going to do, than I really see them taking a OT prospect at 10 and if they need to move up for Campbell to do it I could see them doing it. If it isn't OT, I think it will be dline. I also think if they go OT, we see RB and Dline with the 2 2nd rounders (and if they need to move around in 2nd round to get to right spot value wise they do so). That 3rd rounder I could see being anywhere - potentially a safety or a guard/TE.
-
I think they grab one of the Colts/Eagles young linemen or one of Bosa/Mack. If they can’t sign Dalman, I could see them trading for a strong center. Than we see a number of picks in the trenches too.
-
Joey Bosa officially on the market. Been banged up past couple of years so not sure what he has left - but if he could be healthy, pair him with Sweat and a high draft pick and that is a much more ferocious pass rush.
-
Jackson will be the RG and I suspect Dallas will be the center (for big money). The risk is Dalmatian and Jackson have had some injury issues - but both should have plenty of prime years left. Thuney is the elite vet but quickly on outside of his prime - but still a very good player and a true leader. I suspect they draft an oline with one of their 1st 3 picks and than probably another one with a depth pick (especially if they move back a bit in round one or with one or both of their 2nd rounders to pick up some capital for a te, extra linemen and a rb. I think Dalman and the young Colts Dlinenmen are the 2 big moves Bears make in free agency.
-
I think Jenkins will get 10M per year.
-
This guy is a stud - if we are lucky we get 2-3 years of him still at a high level. Oline is significantly better today and I expect another high end draft pick and free agent signing. About time they take this position serious.
-
Very happy with this move.
-
I’m thinking they go with a free agent center and Stanley at LT.
-
Former Lion and still young. Johnson knows him and this allows you to have at least one spot filled. Don’t like trading but this is significantly better than the Bates move. Don’t trade picks for depth players - if you trade, get a starter and someone you expect to start for a while.
-
I still think free agent center and guard are likely - Smith would have been a lot but he was a high end player. Now we will see where they pivot. But I think Dalman, a free agent guard and someone like Mack are going to be key.
-
If they stay at 10 - I think it will be a dlinemen or if they grade Simmons out as a true LT (and he passes his medical). If they go guard or they take Jeanty, I think it would be following a trade down.
-
I think they will draft a guard early (1st or 2nd round), sign someone like Zeitler or Becton and than sign one of the free agent centers. I could even see them making a play at Staley on top of this...just to make sure they cover it. In these scenarios - if they go oline in Rd 1 - I think if it is an interior olinemen, they need to move down in the draft and that gives them a bit more to swing for some dline, oline, rb, and TE which is where the strength's of this draft are.

Huge if they can upgrade at de and push Sweat to DE 2. -
I thought they were bringing in 5 finalists for the first set of in person interviews this upcoming Wednesday. I don’t think he has any connection to Cohen, except for fact they share the same agent.
