  1. Haha, thanks again. I'm now 26 years old. So I've gone through high school, college, and 4 years as a working stiff but never have I changed Bear sites, haha.
  2. I'd like to see Olsen learn how to catch the ball, but damn does Knox look like a nice player.
  3. I briefly mentioned this in the game thread, but this weekend, my girlfriend bought herself a Cutler jersey and treated me to a trip to Chicago which included tickets to the Bears/Steelers game. In week one she went crazier than I did during the Bears game (especially at the end) and while she's a noob to the sport of football she is now reading the Tribune to try and learn more, haha, and has actually became a fan of the Bears, especially after seeing the game in person for week 2 and taking part in Bear Down Chicago Bears. Anyway, after the game and after a romantic dinner, I proposed to her and am now engaged. Crazy to think when I first started posting on this site (back on Dabearsshrine) I was probably a snot nosed 14 to 15 year old who had a love affair for Curtis Conway, haha.
  4. I was at the game and let me tell you, given the pressure and everything he had to see, he was absolutely stellar. It was the best QB performance I've seen out of a Bear in a long long time. Jim Miller had that run of a couple games and Kramer had some, but what Cutler did was against the defending super bowl champs with rookie WR's. freakin phenomenal game. I literally can count only a couple of plays that he actually missed all game. One was in the 1st half where he missed Knox on what would have been a 20 yard plus completion on 3rd down. That really was about it. HE made great quick reads and beat the blitz numerous times.
  5. I tried to find you before the game, but in the middle of the game it was too crowded. I was in 350, Row 2 for the game against the Steelers. Ended up getting on CBS after the game giving my opinion on the Bears W!!!! Game was a ton of fun to be at. And to top it off, I proposed later on in the evening in downtown and am now engaged.
  6. I think I'll be by you at today's game. Me and the lady will try to stop by. Hopefully we get to cheer on Bears win #1 in the Cutler era!!!
  7. You've thrown a handful of decent guys together over a 10 year period. At no more than one or two seasons did the team have what would be considered a decent set of WR's. Having your #3 playing a #1 and a #4 playing a #2 is not a decent WR corps. Its a below average to very bad one.
  8. Briggs has been by far the best player on the D for 3 years people.
  9. I don't think Davis was on the field for anything but special teams. DA was listed as doubtful but I believe he should be back any-week.
  10. Time for the 1st W in the Cutler Era....I'll be there sporting the Jay jersey!!!
  11. She's a playmate and Baskett's soon to be wife. They have a reality TV show on some channel that my girlfriend watches every once in a while.
  12. When I referred to Wade, I was talking about the years prior to them picking up Berrian. Notice now a year into Berrian's days (along with the drafting of Percy Harvin) he's now out of a job. The Bears WR's have been bad, very bad. Are some serviceable #2-#4's sure, but having a guy thats a #3 most anywhere else be our #1 is the definition of a bad WR corps.
  13. Those guys were #2-#4's everywhere else. The Bears looked at them to be #1's. That is the definition of crap. You didn't prove me wrong.
  14. Desmond Clark summed it up perfectly.
  15. Briggs has been the best player on our defense for 3 seasons and he'll take over as the leader. I'm very confident in my Briggsy.
  16. Berrian's stats were very similar between Minny and Chicago so I'm not quite sure I understand what your saying? The Bears flat out developed Berrian and unfortunately let him walk (I was the one screaming to put the tag on him because of the lack of anything else at the WR position).
  17. None of what you are selling me jumps off the page. Those guys are the definition of retreads. Eddie Kennison put up big numbers in a spread type of offense . Wade and Gage haven't been very good and Booker was not near as good outside of CHicago as he was inside. Bobby Engram was rock solid when he left and Terrell underused? Terrell went to plenty of places where WR's have excelled and never did anything near what he did in Chicago (which was pretty much butkus). That list you rolled off is the definition of below average WR's.
  18. The Bears have not had decent WR's over the past 10 years. They had one star, Marcus Robinson, who got hurt immediately after becoming a star and two good WRs (Marty Booker and Bernard Berrian). Thats it. Other than that they've had nothing and over the past ten years have arguably had the worse WR corps in the NFL. Heck the 4th best WR in the past 10 years is probably Justin Gage (and he did nothing while in Chicago) (I'm not counting Engram because I don't believe he was on the Bears anytime during the past 10 years). Boddy Wade would be the 5th best and he's out of a job and was only getting the reps he was because he was on a Vikings team that had a very shitty WR corps.
  19. It is too bad Plax got all that jail time cause he really would have been the perfect fit.
  20. Just from looking at the replays, it looked like Hester was open on a good number of plays and seemed to be doing a much better job running routes and trying to help his QB. Clearly though, Cutler has known Bennett for longer and will look at to him right now but I really hope we see Hester develop that rappore as well. And ultimately I'd still like to see the club bring in another very good WR as well and in the future we could have a corps of Bennett, Hester, Knox, another good WR and that would be a nice corp's in time, imo.
  21. But did anyone notice how when Cutler needed to throw a ball, he rarely looked at Hester. I thought Hester played great, but the two need to do whatever it takes to ultimately get on the same page because Hester will be the WR most likely to get open as he is just so stinking fast. Bennett definitely grew during the game though. Boy would I love to have Isaac Bruce or someone like that though. You think we could make a deal with the Niners for a veteran like that who could really help our young WR's and give Cutler a crafty vet to look at.
  22. I'll be at the game and I'll be bringing home a Bears win.
