Except that Mike Brown is on another team. Oh and the server thus far is absolutely flying for me. Hopefully it stays this way

That took a lot longer than we expected but the outages should be done. Let us know if you run into any bugs as a result of our server switch. We are on a brand new server and in time will upgrade the forum software to the latest version as well. However, that upgrade literally takes about an hour and I'll do it late at night where as few as people as possible notice the outage. The site will probably be a little slower than usual as we are moving some heavy databases today onto the new server related to the other forum I run on the server (Soxtalk). Thanks for everyones patience and as I mentioned before we should have even more up-time now and more importantly more room to grow

Former players rave about Bears line coach Rod Marinelli
DABEARSDABOMB replied to Pixote's topic in Bearstalk
Very cool to have a coach whose widely regarded as the best in the business at his respected position. -
We've begun our server move. The move is taking us from our current dedicated server to a bigger one with double the ram and a bit larger processor. Today we upgraded the site to version 2.6 of Invision, which is the latest version workable on our current server, but we are upgrading to the newest database software on our new server set-up which will enable us to move up to Version 3.x which is the latest and greatest. It allows for faster indexing which will be very beneficial as the sites database continues to grow. There will be a 24hr or so outage though and I'll try to give as much of a heads up as I can. Basically put the site should fly more and we should have even less down-time. Just wanted to let you guys/gals know.

The Latest on Marshall: asked to be traded
DABEARSDABOMB replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
If Stallworth gets 30 days in prison for killing someone, how the hell is Burress going to do time for shooting himself in the foot. -
I'll take Plax or Owens, pass on Marshall.
-
He was going to do something like a day in prison at one point. So my guess is he won't get much time.

Beautiful. I'm super excited for football season to begin. In fact, I just signed up for NFL Sunday ticket for the first time. Going to turn my house into a bar on Sundays as opposed to me going to the bar.
-
Over one season, I have to go with Marcus Robinsion. Than I'd have Curtis Conway, Marty Booker, and Jeff Graham.
-
You guys are knocking Roach but it seems like the Bears like him more than Hilly.
-
He'd instantly be the best WR on the team.
-
Haha, part of it is probably because he's got a super fresh arm and some extra adrenaline.
-
Completely agree, but I also think the Bears want to make sure they have tons of bodies that can play in the secondary so they don't get lit up. It just makes sense cause corners or at least the Bears CB's have tended to get hurt so you need the protection and with more and more teams running more spread type of offenses having the extra corners helps. At the same time, I think the best way to improve our secondary is to actually have a pass rush and I certainly hope we see a better and more consistent one from the Bears this season and beyond.
-
I think it is going to take some getting used to. His arm is a huge freakin difference from Ortons. I read one person who said that Hester was going to have a heck of a lot of trouble catching the ball with Cutler at the helm because he has poor catching fundementals. The bright side is he's going to hit guys in stride most of the time. So if our WR's can't catch, its there fault and the Bears will have to find new ones. I do know that a lot of players when they first went to GB had trouble catching the ball in there first minicamps and stuff as they adjusted to the velocity on Favre's passes. I expect our guys to get it together.

Interesting, makes sense with McBride moving to safety. Gives the Bears a bit more depth while they see if Vasher is healthy and if Moore is ready to make an immediate impact.
-
Wow, thats awful. I never expected him to fall that far and I still think a team gives him a call.
-
Interesting, hopefully Vasher returns to form and Moore looks like the player a lot of people think he might be (and he seems like a great fit in the cover 2, where size isn't that important in the secondary) as Manning/Mcbride are nice Nickel and Dimebacks. And Graham, well he could be a bluechipper at FS.

Strong-side competition? Pisa Tinoisamoa to visit Bears
DABEARSDABOMB replied to Pixote's topic in Bearstalk
This seems like an excellent fit and he'd be a welcome addition to our starting defense. Hopefully we can get him inked. -
Oh and I'm fairly certain if there was a line, my % would go down cause I'm certain I'd get blocked a lot.
-
I've hit a 45 yarder (a little wind to help me...sucker hit the crossbar dead in the center and bounced over). My real limit is in between the 35-40 as I'm probably about 50% from there. Of course that isn't that great, but thats with only soccer experience.

Awesome recap Pix and it sounds like you guys had a blast!!!!

Good approach Jerry. Last season people seemed to get complacent and while I like both Idonjie and Ogunleye, Oguneley specifically hasn't played all that well over the past 2 seasons so he needs to show up motivated and kick some butt.
