  1. Jones/Hardy/Oher are all pretty likely 1st rounders. The only one that legitimately could fall out would be Oher simply because there are a shitload of tackles out there (which is one reason why I could see the Bears taking a skill position at 1 and than go oline in two...in fact if Ryan falls to 14, which I doubt happen, I'd be stunned if the Bears didn't take him). Right now I'm thinking the Bears only make the pick at 14 if a stud falls to them, otherwise I think they move down. If they only move down a few spots, I think they'll take a WR or RB (assuming a good chunk of olineman are still on the board) and than they'll land a lineman at 2 and target Flacco in the 3rd (but have there ears to the ground in case they need to trade up to get him). I'd be happy with an impact lineman (Baker or whatever tackle ends up being there at 2, a QB like Flacco, and a quality skill position guy, whether Mendenhall who can come in and help as a great receiver out of the backfield and a guy with a shitload of speed/athletism which would be an awesome combo with Benson and Peterson as the 3rd string). Maybe find a taker for Wolfe for a 4 or 5th rounder.
  2. Well, I can't complain with any of the three guys in round one. They all look like legitimate NFL starters and any of the three would fill a major need. The second round picks are very hopeful, considering there is a chance all of those guys are off the board by the early 20's, which makes it highly unlikley they make it to the 14th pick in round 2 (if any of those guys are there at 2 good lord you take them). Jones may be off the board by the time the Bears pick (he has the ability to rise that quickly, although having Mendenhall/Stewart also in the class makes things more likely that one of the backs falls till late in the 1st, maybe early in the 2nd). The fact that you have Hardy on the board in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds (considering the lack of talent at the WR position, you'd have to expect a major run on WR's to go and any worthy WR to be off the board by the end of the first and if they make it to the Bears pick (I'd take Hardy in a heartbeat) in the 2nd I'd be thrilled. Falco may be gone by the 2nd round and there is zero chance he is there in the 4th, zero. Let me say I hope I'm wrong in all of this cause if the guys you have down are on the board in each of those rounds we are going to have one hell of a draft.
  3. I think you are right about Moose. The big reason why is that Moose is a great guy to have around Hester to teach Devin the intrecacies about being a wide-receiver. Now, I know thats why the Bears pay to have a WR coach but it isn't the same. Having a guy out there on the field that can help Hester is just as important, not to mention Moose is currently playing in the league and has had lots of success in the league so there are many things he'll be able to pass on that Drake may not be able to.
  4. If you could get a receiver like Chad Johnson for a 2nd round pick and Alex Brown you do it. If you could get them for even less you do it. All I know is Chad Johnson is an impact WR. He's the type of player the Bears have never had at the WR position (in the history of the franchise). Financially the Bears have cap room and adding him probably allows you to let Berrian walk (or if you sign Berrian you clearly have a pretty lethal WR core with Johnson/Berrian). And to an extent I buy into what Johnson says because when you have an elite WR, you have a WR who can be a QB's comfort guy (plus Greg Olsen/Dez Clark) and it will make it easier for Grossman/Orton to have bail-out guys to go to. I'd be totally down with a Johnson, restructured Moose, Bradley, & Hester WR core.
  5. The more I've seen of Flacco the more willing I am to take him as high as the 2nd round. I'd be giddy if they got him in the third, but this guy has all the NFL tools. The only questions surrounding him are a little longer release (and I've seen many analysts indicate that really isn't an issue) and whether of course he can break down and read defenses (and in all reality, that is a question about every QB entering the NFL). I'd also be all over Brennan, but not till round 3. I'm starting to think if the Bears can address the line via FA, that I would be okay with going with Rashard Mendenhall in RD 1 (I know it isn't a massive need pick, but the guy is a stud). Stewart is another guy I really like too. Than you hit QB in RD 2 and draft some project lineman in the 3rd round (cause the Bears do need to draft some olineman, but if they sign a guy or two via FA they can afford to take a couple lineman later on). Another thing I'd be down with is taking Jamaal Charles (Texas) if he's there at three (if you go olineman at 1, Qb at 2, Charles with your first 3rd rounder). Charles is the perfect compliment to Cedric Benson (fast as a mother f'er but probably not big enough to be a 30 carry a back player, but thats fine, you give Benson 15-20 and Charles 10-15). The problem is the Bears had that terrible pick in Garret Wolfe last year.
  6. Check out Fox's website as they may stream it, but also hit up some torrent sites. Basically google tv show torrents and you should find plenty of places that would probably have it available for download.
  7. I don't know much about the recent minivans, but the Honda Odyssey's have always gotten pretty good reviews. I would hit up edmunds.com and read up on the various minivans for the model years you are interested and see what they have to say. The Chrysler/Dodges were pretty darn good for a number of years but the last time I researched/looked at minivans was probably 7 years ago so I'm sure things have changed a bit.
  8. I would probably think long and hard about Stewart/Mendenhall and the Olineman. I don't think there is a WR on the board worth picking, but the RB's would be solid value picks at that spot as would the tackles (even though they aren't the lineman). The only question would be what Angelo truly thinks of Benson. If he has faith the Bears won't draft a pick that early and will instead bring in a veteran backup. If they don't, you will see them pick a RB in one of the first two rounds.
  9. Considering the friendship/respect Lovie has for Rod Marinelli I would put the odds at very slim that Lovie would go out and pick up a football player that Marinelli cut for attitude and other various reasons (simply because if Rod doens't like him, that probably means Lovie wouldn't see him as a fit either).
  10. Haha, I love that Chuck Norris one. I think we need a Rambo one after the awesomeness that was the latest Rambo movie.
  11. I would love Flacco in the second round, but I think anything sooner than that for a QB would be a mistake. He has a buttload of tools and would be a perfect guy to come in behind Orton/Rex and be groomed for a potential starting position (and if Orton or Rex develop you have a good problem in the sense that you'd have multiple QB's with talent, none of which would have high price tags and you could eventually swing one of them off for a draft pick). I should also note that I want the Bears to move down in the draft and just stockpile as many day 1 picks as they can (as I think they have multiple needs which can be filled real nicely by having a late 1st, 2 2nd's, and 2 3rd's (we already ahve the 2 3rd's and if the squad can find a way to use its first round pick to get another 2nd we would be in business).
  12. Fantastic hire. This is one of the real good OC's in the league and he got sucked up by a team in dire need of some offensive direction. THey also will have to get some offensive skill players though cause an OC alone will not save there ship. Saunders is another very good OC out there right now as well.
  13. In all seriouness, if this is Al Davis plan than the only thing I see happening next is him moving the team back to LA. Afterall, that would be the only thing left that would be dumber than firing your young head coach to get a tard like Denny Green. The Kiffin hiring got a lot of heat last year but he's a good mind who did a nice job with a shit team. Davis just has no patience and is a complete tard.
  14. This really doesn't make sense. The new head coach should be the one to bring in his assistants. Williams and Saunders will quickly find jobs though. Good lord there are a buttload of really qualified coordinators out on the market right now.
  15. Mid to Late 1st, but I would imagine that a positive workout/combine would move him into the top 15.
  16. Maurice Jones-Drew is a strong back. He may be small, height wise, but his body type is not that of a skinny/undersized running back. Drew can run strong through the holes and take a beating while not losing his speed. He is the exact opposite of what Wolfe is currently and what Wolfe will ever be. Garret Wolfe will be nothing more than a potential 3rd down back. He was a horrible pick and I hope somehow the Bears figure out a way to make him productive but I am not holding my breath. That isn't to say he wasn't great on those screen passes, but I don't see much value in a guy who does one thing right and everything else poor (when you can't run inside the tackles you are pretty worthless in my book as a RB).
  17. I want to quickly remind people that while Crowton was innovtative (he brought the bubble screen to the NFL) he was far from a good offensive coordinator. His show proved to be a gimmick in the NFL. The same would be proven if some guy came to the NFL and decided to run a collegiate like spread offense or the option offense. I am thrilled to death the Bears will never have to deal with Crowton again. I'm not going to deny he isn't a good offensive mind, because I think his system works pretty good in college but it doesn't mean it will work in the pro's where the players are smarter, faster, bigger and well BETTER.
  18. While I know deep down there would have been some issues with Martz in Chicago I must admit I'd have been excited to hire him. I still think Mularckey & Sporano would be better choices as OC's but it isn't going to matter as Turner is going to get another season to work with things. I'm guessing it is largely because Turner's success will be tied to Orton/Grossman who are going to get another season. If things work out, both will be back and the Bears will be in the playoffs and heading in the right direction and if things don't work out, well the Bears might find themselves in a slight rebuilding mode. I'm an optimist because I believe strongly in Angelo and to a lesser extent Lovie (although I think Lovie made some awful decisions as a coach this past year) & Grossman (hell of a talent, but there is no denying the step backwards he took for most of the year) and I expect the Bears to be successful again next year.
  19. Nickerson resigning had to do with personal reasons. He has had some people close to him fall ill and it has made him want to spend more time with his family. I think he was a hell of a football player and I know he'll be a heck of a coach when he ends up coming back in a few years (he said he will be back, I think he is waiting for his kids to grow up a bit more and things to stabilize in terms of the health of his family). The Bears definitely are going to have to find a quality guy to bring in, especially since Jamar Williams is going to be fighting for a job and depending on the development of the Stanford LB (Okyo or whatever his name is), you may end up having two new starting Lb's before all is said and done.
  20. This show was freaking entertaining. It hurt watching the one girl tear up her knee. After I tore mine up a while back anytime I even think of someone hurting there knee it flat out creeps me out.
  21. I would absolutely love Mendenhall. He has the ability to be a legit, top notch RB. He has game breaking speed, good vision, and it appears to be enough strenght to be an all pro running back. However, the Bears have a major problem and without a good oline your QB, RB, and entire offense won't have any success and because of that the Bears don't have the luxury of taking a RB in RD 1 (unless they spend some big bucks on the oline via FA). Rice had a very impressive game at Rutgers and he is the type of back that I think behind an above average oline has a fantastic career. He has good speed (not great), with great vision and strength and always seems to go forward and gain yards. I think he could be an Emmit Smith type back (ie, not amazingly fun to watch, but gets the job done...and no I'm not saying he will have Emmit's career). I think Rice could be one of the people the Bears target in the 2nd round. I also wouldn't have as much of a problem going with Mendenhall if the Bears moved down to the 20's and drafted him but also stocked up on first day picks to add some talent (this would be based on them signing a FA Tackle and than using the draft to nab a guard or two).
  22. I think Orton will get a serious shot, but if Rex plays/practices at a high level he will be the guy because he has the better skill set. However, Orton really seemed to impress Lovie and a lot of the Bears brass and I know he opened my eyes quite a bit, especially by the way he seemed to really feel the pass rush and make things happen. Kyle definitely has the worse tool-set but that doesn't mean he can't be an above average QB in this league and I for one will be excited to see the two battle things out in training camp. However, once a starter is named I want them to get every opportunity to succeed without having to completely look over there shoulder cause the last thing I want to see is Kyle for 2 games, Rex for 2 games and just a steady back and forth between the two.
  23. I absolutely love this move. Swisher is going to be the face of this franchise along with Buehrle for the next 4-5 years.
  24. I'd be stunned if Rex got a big money contract. No one is going to openly offer him the starting job and at that point he and the Bears know it is better off for him to come back to Chicago where he knows the system and knows that the coaching staff believes in him and that he will end up getting a fair shake in the competition. I like it too because the competition will hopefully make both guys better.
  25. I got to admit, I liked how Sapp had fun on the field. It may come off as jackassery at times, but when a guy loves playing the game it is fun to watch.
