Seriously. Yes please.
-
Is that the next Packer all pro QB. Will be interesting how Rodgers reacts to this.
-
The raiders technically net out an extra 1st in total. They got 2 from us and giving up 1 for Ngakoue.
-
I hope we don't somehow have a pick today (unless it is an absurd trade in our favor...i.e., Mitch for a 1st round pick).
-
The Bears have offset protection so if he signs for $500K, Bears save $500K.
-
I could very much see the Bears eventually signing him plus Osemele. Will give them a lot of flexibility heading into the draft. I kind of think they take 2 wideouts with their first 3 picks (or a WR and TE) with the first 3 picks.
-
We have need for speed and playmaking at wideout. This is a historically deep draft at wideout. We can't finish this draft having not addressed that position and played to the strength of the draft. I just hope we pick the right one (unlike the year we picked Shaheen in a deep TE draft).
-
The problem is they have to deal with his contract a year from now. I Think they need to understand whether they intend to spend money on him or not. If they don't, than I think it might be better to move on from him a year early (vs. late). Learn from the Floyd situation.
-
Interesting there are now reports that Bridgewater turned down the Bears because they weren't ready to guarantee him the starting job (want to make sure there is a competition for Mitch). I think that indicates exactly where they stand with Foles. Expect a full blown competition and I personally hope Mitch wins (because if he could actually take things to the next level, it would be HUUUGE).

I've seen we might be getting up to 3 comp picks (which would be a nice bonus a year from now).
-
Welcome aboard and I agree with you entirely. Good news is this WR draft is one of the deepest in years so the Bears should be able to get 1 or 2 pretty darn good receiving talents.
-
Fairly certain none of them will step-up.
-
I agree - There is reason to be cautiously excited about Roberson.
-
I would be really annoyed if we gave up even more future draft picks.
-
One of which is likely a draft pick (probably one of our earlier picks). I'd like to move down a bit and target a couple wideouts, some DB's, some olinemen. If a TE were to fall, that would be great too.
-
THis would be a nice move. I remember wanting him a couple years ago.
-
Floyd is very underappreciated as he's a very good all around LB. Just not a sack machine. Mingus isn't that, but he's a good special teams player who maybe in the right scheme can be a solid depth move.
-
Right now I still think Mitch is the answer. The Bears brought Foles in because if Mitch doesn't take steps forward and fast, they can pivot pretty quickly to a guy who might just be a really good system fit. And if Mitch does take off...Foles is just a great dude to have around. Its kind of a win / win move (other than fact I don't think we needed to give up the pick...but it sounds like other teams were offering at least a 5th rounder).

Newton was never healthy. With a whole off-season, someone might get an incredible steal. If he's healthy, he's worth his weight in gold. IF he isn't healthy, oh well. No QB who changed teams this off-season has more upside than Cam (and that includes Brady, imo). I say that because Cam is still young enough that you wouldn't be shocked to see the former MVP regain his footing and be a well above average QB for a few years. On Brady's case, his best years are definitely behind him...that not to say he isn't solid, but he's getting paid more for past success than future success, imo (and this is coming from a huge Brady fan).
-
Yeah - I don't think Bars was really healthy enough / physically strong enough (given his rehab) to be a day 1 starter.
-
The good news is that is basically $16M that can be dumped and applied to some real players a year from now (not quite 16M but I don't think there is a ton of dead money on either player after this year).
-
IF Burton is healthy, he's by far their best tight end. Bears have massive hole at TE and had to kind of make this move when the TE market was full of crap. They will need to address via draft, but could pass and just rely on who they have now. Not great, but last years TEs were the worst in the history of the NFL.
-
Wasn't Prince / Gabriel cut (so no comp pick for them). I think I read where we are projected for 2-3 comp picks (based upon Kwit, Nick Williams, KPL, HHCD). Don't think we get jack for Floyd/Prince/Gabriel. Floyd is the one that hurts.

The way Pace trades picks...we'll probably trade up our entire draft for 1 pick. Nothing pisses me off more about Pace than his inability to build up draft capital. Dude consistently mortgages the future and I just don't like it. I do like the fact that he has balls, that I'll give him, but he could benefit from building a surplus and understanding when and where it makes sense to be aggressive (in buying) but also when it makes sense to sell (i.e., we could have sold Floyd and gotten something for him at the deadline). And for everyone that calls Floyd a bust...dude is a very good LB, he just doesn't get the sacks everyone expected. He'll start for a long time in this league.
