  1. And they have a young QB who has been improving. They are definitely headed in the right direction.
  2. I think he's a solid pick cause he's the best player in the draft healthy. However, the Cowboys have a ton of need, but it still comes down to where guys rate on the draft board. Miami is moving up to pick a RB. Guaranteed.
  3. Well, given I was not a big fan of Henry, I am fine that he is off the board. I think we are going to go with the Bama Dlineman or the Miss State dlineman.
  4. You are probably right (I figure S / RB / DL are the direction we go, although I suppose they could go Hunter Henry since we clearly have a TE need...I just see the fact that his weakness is run blocking and I am a skeptic on that). I just wonder where we have him on our board. I fully expect us to grab one of the big Dlineman if they are on the board. But maybe they view the depth there as still strong later on and instead we opt for another position.
  5. Would you all take Myles if he was on the board?
  6. DE from OSU. Good...not one of the guys I had targeted.
  7. I think we go with a big interior dlineman, RB, or safety.
  8. Or safety. Either way, I can't blame Pace. I'd have freaking loved ramsey.
  9. Jason...you are a convincing...you sold me.
  10. They just traded Johnathan Cooper to the Pats (former 1st round pick who sucked) and last years first round pick was inactive the whole year. People would be calling for Pace's head if he had those type of 1st round failures.
  11. I don't think they are even comparable backs. Elliot is so much more talented. Huge gap . I also have limited faith in the ability to truly evaluate a Bama back. They play behind massive lines and thus you really have a hard time being able to see if they truly can deal with the size of holes and gaps in the NFL. Elliot was so freaking complete. A lot of really successful people rated him as the best back to be out in years. You have the guy who had Faulk compare him with Faulk. Comparisons to Ladamian Tomilson.
  12. I agree and when I think of Houston and Young, while I think they are both effective players, neither of them have a ton of speed and given the era of passing and the need for the LB's to cover, speed is king, and I want to see this d loaded with athletes. Plus, McPhee has had injuries in his career and its the NFL, guys will get hurt...really like this pick and I still would be fully on board with Jack or Smith (albeit, would not be okay taking Smith in the 2nd). I presume we will see Bears go Dline in the 2nd, but you have to wonder if they look RB or QB or S.
  13. Dang...I was fully on Nkemdiche board. Shoot. Now I'm thinking our most likely pick would be Von Bell, safety from OSU. I think he'd look really good on the Bears.
  14. Very much a lot of boom / bust risk here.
  15. Remember, Giants wanted him and we clearly had him above other people as well. Compare what we gave up to move up vs. what the Titans gave up (they gave up a 2nd rounder plus and got Conklin).
  16. Ashawn would be awesome too or Jack. I am pretty sure Nkemdiche would be there and I agree with you, I'd love for them to add another athlete.
  17. Tunsil wasn't going to either the Bucs or Giants so there was no need to get him. He'd have been there. Giants had been pretty open in past day or two that they had narrowed the choice to Floyd. All of there football people were in agreement, with only the owner leaning towards Conklin (who was already off the board).
  18. Agree...two totally different players. I do agree Floyd has a lack of stats, but supposedly part of that was the system. Bottom line, if the Bears wanted him, they paid a relatively cheap price to jump the Giants. By all accounts the Giants football people had pegged FLoyd as there guy, so for those saying why did we do it, its pretty clear..we did it because that is who the Giants were going to take and we liked him more than anyone else on the board. 4th rounder to get the preferred guy, is well worth it, imo. Now the real work for Floyd and the coaching staff begins...can they make him a sane version of Aldon Smith or even something close to 85% of that and that would be pretty good. He was one of the few players on the board who I thought had the raw talent to be an explosive pass rusher.
  19. Niners are going to go Buckner, right?
  20. By the way, do the Titans end up cutting a deal with us (for a tackle).
  21. Well now Buckner might be there. Elliot is off the board.
  22. Cowboys very well might take him. I think if anything, it pretty much guarantees one of Stanley / Tunsill is available @ 11.
