I hadn't either. So now I fully am convinced that one of the tackles is falling to the Bears. Might increase chances of Elliot falling as well. Buckner to the Cowboys or are they going Ramsey? God I'd love Ramsey to slide to Bears.
-
Goff & Wentz officially off the board @ 1 & 2, respectively. I think something crazy happens and we end up with Bosa or Lynch. Realistically, I think we'll take the Dlineman from Louisville.
-
Gabriel and Lemming have both indicated Rankins is the Bears guy.
-
Elliot was on Dan Patrick this AM and indicated that he thinks the Bears absolutely love him.
-
IF Elliot is there, there is no way they are passing them (outside of Bosa / Buckner being on the board).
-
Marlin Jackson clinched them playing in the superbowl and was a solid starter for them for a number of years before getting injured. He than signed with the Eagles as a FA and tore his achilles. I honestly don't understand what some of you expect, but look at even the great teams and they miss at a pretty high percentage.
-
Oh I fully agree, if Buckner and Bosa are on the board and we picked Elliot, I would be absolutely upset. That said, I find it highly unlikely that either Buckner / Bosa will be available when we pick. A week ago, I'd have put the odds at .1% that we'd have a shot at them at 11, now I would say maybe we have a 5% shot one of them falls. But if Bucker and Bosa are off the board and Elliot is there, to be frank, he is in a different class vs. whomever else I project to be available @ 11. None of the LT's grade out as stud LT's...both have issue and Stanley has fallen a lot recently. I'm a huge fan of OT so I'm still fine with it, especially if none of Buckner / Bosa / Elliot are there (which is by far the most likely scenario, imo) and instead we are looking at one of the LT's or reaching for a LB (unless of course Myles Jack falls to us) or reaching a bit for a CB (but hey, its a need so I'm okay with it). Reality is the talent in this draft falls pretty significantly after the 8th or so player and we are picking 3 spots down from that.
-
The draft grade on the DE / OLB and even CB just don't even compare. Ezekiel is head and shoulders above everyone else. By the way, it is likely a moot point as it seem highly probable that either the current Browns team or the former Browns (Ravens) team drafts Ezekiel.

I don't know if he can get that type of money long-term (given where we are in FA and with most teams having used up there cap space). I'm intrigued but I didn't realize he was already 28. It also seems to me that a lot of big money FA CB signings tend to bust. I don't know what it is about CB's, but I figure it must have to deal with the variety of schemes, etc. That said, Norman seems like one of those guys who isn't a scheme CB and should fit anywhere. I'd prefer Wilkerson if they were both on the market (given Wilkerson's age and his ability to disrupt the line and pressure the QB) but Norman is a premium DB and we could use improvements in the secondary. That said, I don't see Bears sniffing unless he's willing to go shorter-term and I can't imagine that happening (his current asking price is extremely expensive).

Bill Polian has Ezekiel has his #1 player on his draft board.

Went back and watched some of his film, dude can play. He's an athlete and when I read more about his off-the field issues, the bigger concerns are of him just being a unique spirit, not being a guy with a major issue. He did have one huge mistake, but he's a massive man who is immensley athletic. I'm not advocating taking him @ 11, but I am advocating him as a no brainer in the 2nd round (if he is there) and I'd go as far as saying I'd be willing to either move down later in the 1st (to get him) or move up from the 2nd to get him. This is a guy who could be a true game changer on this defense (something we sorely need and lack). If he busts, oh well, shoot for the great is what I say!!! http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15159447...mdic-nfl-future Thought the above was a good article / spin for those who advocate drafting him. Draft reports would make you think dude is some criminal or something. By all accounts his teammates loved him and he seems like a unique, but talented guy who has a good heart. Below is something that stood out about his football accumen: Bottom line, I think everyone on the planet overanalyzes the negatives heading into a draft and they are completely ignoring the fact that this guy is a top 5 talent who was a great teammate, doesn't have major legal issues (yes he had a dumb incident but it was an incident that only impacted him...never impacted anyone else).
-
Doesn't Jaylon project as a guy who can basically play any of the LB spots?
-
Honestly, I'm on board with Joseph in the 2nd and love Smith...I'd be in love with that draft. I don't know that you could draw out a better looking top 3 picks in my eyes. Never happens though (no way does Joseph fall to the 3rd).

Everything I've heard is Giants are locked in on an LT.
-
Oh I agree I wouldn't make it, it only works for the Rams if they truly think they have a franchise QB. I think they would hvae been better off taking Lynch at 15 and drafting another QB in the 3rd round as I don't think the difference between Goff or Wentz or Lynch is that significant.
-
I don't think that is enough to move down those 4 slots. I'd ask for one extra pick, but yeah, than I'm game (unless Bears graded Stanley as top on the board). On a sidenote, I don't think Stanley will be there. Giants are taking a tackle and you know Tunsill will be gone as well so I see at least 2 tackles going before our pick (possibly a third).
-
I think the Titans might actually look at our pick and move up if Stanley is there (and that possibility has increased given this trade). Titans will easily have the flexibility. If they don't move up, to your point, if a team goes another direction, we might get lucky and get a top 8 talent (which by all accounts is where the real talent gap drops off) at 11.
-
Good move by Titans but the quality LT at 15 vs. where they were picking is significantly worse. Still, they should be able to have multiple picks to help build a strong line in one draft while also addressing other needs. Great trade for them and for the Rams, if they truly think one of these guys is a franchise QB, than I can't fault them for it. But serious risk. I've long been a huge believer in the trade down philosophy.
-
Either way, if he is 95% of either of those, than getting him at 11 is a no brainer and a steal. Both are all time greats at the respective position.
-
The leader comment is the typical MO on him. Against the blitz he's rated very well, he has all the tools, performed very well in a pro style offense, etc. If it weren't for this "leadership" question mark because he wasn't anointed captain, he'd be a surefire 1st round pick.
-
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/...th-bears-49ers/ Bears are clearly taking a QB somewhere in the first few rounds (given who are current back-ups are) and the fact that we are meeting with practically every QB (or so it seems).

Very informative read from Gabriel on setting a draft board. I always persumed teams evaluated player by round grade, but looks like it is more just lined up top to bottom and you pick whomever is on top regardless. I say that because I would have assumed someone may not have been on your board in the first but is on your board in the 3rd (say if a 1st round talent slipped). The way it looks, if someone isn't on your list, you stay away from them and I suppose it makes sense and that is why you might see a 1st round graded player fall and continue to fall (as plenty of teams just keep laser focus on who they scouted and evaluated and went with from the beginning). http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/04/07/gab...-a-draft-board/

Love Karl Joseph and that 3rd round pick scream great value. Honestly, love it. Probably my favorite mock I've seen and I'm not even a huge Shaq fan.
-
Georgia's system seems to overrate / overinflate its pass rushers stats and get them overdrafted. Doesn't mean Floyd isn't good, but we'll see.
