  1. Dom Cosentino ✔ ‎@domcosentino Source confirmed Jets are hosting ex-Bears DL Jarvis Jenkins for a visit, as @JasonLaCanfora said. Source added visit is today.
  2. Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 20m #Bears were not awarded a compensatory draft pick and have not had one since 2009. NE, DAL, SF get 4 each per NFL. Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 18m #Bears had 3 compensatory picks in 2009 and they were used on WR Juaquin Iglesias, G Lance Louis & WR Derek Kinder. Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 15m Based on start of free agency this year, #Bears might be shut out of compensatory picks again in 2017. Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 15m Since league began awarding compensatory picks in 1994, #Bears have received 17. Only 7 teams have received fewer.
  3. Chris Emma ‏@CEmma670 2m2 minutes ago Danny Trevathan was given word that the Bears would be adding more pieces to their defense. The linebacker is pumped for what may be coming.
  4. Gresham and Hicks will be at Halas hall tomorrow. Kearse on the radar as well and I presume we'll look at a safety at some point or another person within the secondary.
  5. Good move. He's a good ST player.
  6. ‏@AaronLemingNFL Aaron Leming Retweeted Bob Condotta #Bears reportedly in the WR market & on Jermaine Kearse. Aaron Leming added,
  7. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter Former Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham on way to visit Bears, who are shopping Martellus Bennett.
  8. He's visiting tomorrow. Per Biggs.
  9. I have a good relationship with someone close to Weddle. Weddle wants to stay on the west and is interested in Raiders. Overall though, wants to play for contender and Cowboys were also on the radar. No mention of the Bears. Not to say something couldn't come up down the road.
  10. Chris Emma ‏@CEmma670 7m7 minutes ago I'm told the Bears have not engaged in contact with free-agent safety Eric Weddle. Three-time Pro Bowl player, but 30 years old.
  11. Been told that #Packers QB Scott Tolzien is making a visit to the #Colts today. The #Bears are also showing interest in him.
  12. Easily outperformed? When has Miller put up pro bowl numbers over a full season. Miller benefited significantly from one broken play by the Rams (yes, he ran really fast...but it was a wide open TD and Bennett gets a TD on that play as do a lot of TE's in this leauge. You continue to point to an absurdly small sample size for a guy who is significantly older than our pro bowl TE who has put up top of the league numbers the past few years and was again on pace to put up strong receiving numbers. Guy has also played through some significant injuries as well in the past and is a total playmaker. This is not me knocking Miller, like him as a backup, but you are really letting a small sample size (and not a small sample size from a rookie or some young up and comer, which I can kind of understand) cloud your judgement for a guy who has a long sample size of not playing and/or being a backup.
  13. Watch the Bears deal Cutler to the Niners for their 1st round pick.
  14. Aaron Leming ‏@AaronLemingNFL Aaron Leming Retweeted Daniel Boaz David Bruton & Walter Thurmond are two names I have heard that the #Bears have talked to.
  15. Akiem Hicks - DL - Patriots Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times hears the Bears are "working toward a possible face-to-face meeting" with free agent DT Akiem Hicks. That meeting could happen as early as Thursday. ESPN Patriots reporter Mike Reiss predicted the Bears would make a play for Hicks, who already knows GM Ryan Pace from their time together in New Orleans. Hicks earned PFF's 14th-highest DT grade out of 70 qualifiers last year while backing up Malcolm Brown and Alan Branch.
  16. Marc Mariani - WR - Bears At least four teams have shown interest in free agent WR Marc Mariani. Chicago is one of those teams. Mariani was forced into a bigger role last year because of injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal. He managed 22 catches for 300 yards over the course of 535 offensive snaps. Even in a thin wide receiver market, it shouldn't cost the Bears much to keep him.
  17. Chris Emma ‏@CEmma670 3m3 minutes ago Chris Emma Retweeted 23Grand Hicks may sign by tomorrow. Bears are among the favorites to land him.
  18. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs Sounds like #Bears could be lining up a visit for DL Akiem Hicks. GM Ryan Pace knows him well but Fox/Fangio might want to meet him.
  19. Aaron Leming is pretty confident (on the radio right now) that Zach Miller will be re-signed.
  20. You can choose to apply portions to this year's cap (signing bonus, etc).
  21. I was probably too generous with shut down corner, but in relation to the pourous secondary we saw the past two years, Porter's above average play looked so much better, haha. I should also point out Fuller did seem to make some strides later in the year. Hopefully with a full year in the new system under his belt, we can see Fuller become a real player.
  22. Nope, i did not. By the way, I'm not of the belief that we will get a ton for Bennett. I think we get a 6th rounder at best. When it came to B, I thought he was much more of a malcontent than Marty and had a bigger history of it than Marty. That said, if Marty truly is a giant pain and it is unsolveable, than it is time to move on. However, I hate the thought of us using a high pick on a TE. Do we look at Vernon Davis? He's about the last quality TE out there and he's clearly past his prime.
  23. Honestly, with all of our cap space, I don't quite get why we wouldn't have front-loaded the deal a bit more. That said, love the numbers.
  24. I realize you love ripping on Marty, but Marty is a better blocker than Dwayne Allen or Fleener and basically when healthy put up combined the same numbers two of them did. Guy is a top 3, worse case, top 5 TE in this league. All that said, you say he's not worth any of this and than say we can get massive value for him. Reality is, guys who are holding out, don't get traded for much because the Bears have zero leverage in this situation and other teams know it.
