  1. Supposedly frontrunners....not done till it is done though.
  2. I'd want Graham to restructure and I'd want to make sure we are confident in Graham's health. I'm on board.
  3. The amount of money he's going to get guaranteed, I kind of hope we stay away from him. I think he benefited a lot by other special players around him than him being special. He reaks of massive overpayment. Don't get me wrong, I think he's solid, but I don't think he's an elite player or a difference maker and he's going to get that type of money. I'd much rather go for Trevathan.
  4. Colts sign TE Dawyne Allen to a 4 year deal. There goes one of few TEs on the market. 4 year deal worth 29.4 million. For those wondering how beneficial Marty's value is, there you have it, cause Marty is a lot better than Allen. Fleener still on the market, but pretty much all of the options are potential downgrades (unless we try and buy low on Jimmy Graham)
  5. Rapoport on NFL Network - top 3 suitors for Malik Jackson are the Jags, Raiders and Bears.
  6. Aaron Leming ‎@AaronLemingNFL Most of the interest I've heard about has been interior. Sweezy, Allen, Boone, etc. #Bears
  7. Rand Getlin Active market for LB Shea McClellin. Teams love his versatility. 3-4 teams like him at Mike and OLB. 4-3 teams like him at Mike and SAM.
  8. I agree, plus, I fully expect us to take a QB in this draft (and not a 6th rounder). I think we absolutely take a QB in first 4 rounds and wouldn't be shocked if it was sooner than that. I think Pace and Fox are serious about finding a long-term answer at starting QB (Jay is fine for now, but they know Jay isn't getting any younger and if Fox / Pace are going to succeed, they'll need to find a franchise QB at some point in time...why not start now, while you have the ability to buy time / be patient with Jay as the starter).
  9. Rand Getlin ‏@Rand_Getlin now One player generating a ton of early interest? #Seahawks OG J.R. Sweezy. I'm told at least 10 teams have expressed serious interest. Rand Getlin ‏@Rand_Getlin 1m1 minute ago For OG J.R. Sweezy, teams who've expressed interest: #Bucs, #Falcons, #Lions, #Dolphins, #Saints, #49ers, #Jags, #Bears, #Jets, others. Rand Getlin ‏@Rand_Getlin 2m2 minutes ago To keep in mind on Sweezy: He didn't play offensive line until he got to the @NFL. Was a defensive lineman with a nasty streak in college. Aaron Leming ‏@AaronLemingNFL 19s19 seconds ago #Bears would be wise to stay away from J.R. Sweezy. Not sure what most teams see in him.
  10. Obviously not a shocker, but some other reports indicate Jackson is very high on the Bears & Raiders lists as well.
  11. I would probably pass on this point, however, a change of scenery could absolutely do RG III a lot of good, imo.
  12. Whichever is the man in charge at this point. I confuse them too much. Mike is the one in charge, right?
  13. I'd rather have some years on the back-end, but not do a large signing bonus. If we give him that extra shot, i'd like to know we have potential upside.
  14. If we were going to bring in a veteran back, it should be Forte and no one else.
  15. Completely agree. To me it makes QB more of a priority and it also means I'm moving young / houston if I can to free up the spaces to give younger players opportunities (might even make me more willing to go another year with Shea since he is still pretty young and Fangio still likes him; a lot of reports lately that he was pretty damn injured the 2nd half of the season and that significantly impacted his play). Fangio raves about him and his (Fangio) track record is pretty good.
  16. If we are a year or two away, Young and Houston don't really do us much good. It sounds like Bears are thinking hard about cutting Houston and trading Young. I think we could probably get something for Young (4th - 6th round pick, most likely 5th) and in Houston's case given his contract, not sure if we could actually generate a pick for him or not (we can pretty much cut him with no strings attached). So if we don't buy on them longer term, than maybe we keep one for depth, but it seems like Shea would be that guy before Young / Houston and to be frank, if Fangio likes Shea that much, I'd rather give him the 1.5 or 2M per year to see if you get some upside in him than use time on guys who won't be around when we are finally there (not to mention who we might be able to use to get us extra picks). The nice thing about all those extra picks, is if you get them, you can legitimately dangle them to move around in the draft and ensure you get the targets you want.
  17. Yep - He doubled in at RB. In fact, I heard one person say if he was a full time RB, he'd have been a 1st round pick (highlighting his overall athleticism). I really like him. Whenever I've heard him interviewed, he just sounds like a guy who gets it and will kick ass (and he was really good on the field and has a lot of upside as he's still raw but seems coachable).
  18. Seahawks might be interested as well (I'm sure he'd love to be reuinted with his brother) and supposedly Seahawks might cut Jimmy Graham.
  19. That said, Bears were interested in him last year and prior to signing with the Texans, he was with Fox in Denver and was a pretty solid safety. 26 years old, so still plenty young. http://www.nfl.com/player/rahimmoore/2495503/profile
  20. Somewhere Russel Wilson was ignored, but maybe you were more focused on 1st round picks?
