  1. It does make sense, but I'd prefer to keep him around, even just for the clubhouse. My dream scenario is getting either Rashad Johnson or Louis Delmas (preferably Delmas) in the draft and start right away at FS with Brown and Payne platooning at SS.
  2. Um, that doesn't really make sense considering Chavous didn't go to the Rams until Lovie was long gone.
  3. I don't know if you've heard or not, but Holt and Pace are all but done in St. Louis.
  4. I love John Tait, but thank god.
  5. this gives me hope for Jordan Gross...
  6. I'm pretty sure we're interested in A LOT of players right now.
  7. There's no point in even reading it. McShay is worthless as a draft expert and talent scout.
  8. If you're in the top 5, it's gonna be almost impossible for you trade down, unless the team you're trading down with is in the top 6.
  9. Was that Jerry Angelo or Lovie Smith answering those questions, or a sports columnist for the sun times? I'd be utterly SHOCKED if Nathan Vasher is still with the Bears next year. He deserves to be cut and holding onto someone because of their contract is stupid. You win some, you lose some, and we lost this one. And please stop with this crap about moving Tillman to FS. You want to replace him with a rookie and play him at FS? You're certainly downgrading at one position if you do that, and I think Tillman would make a terrible FS anyway. Tillman is above and beyond our best CB and better then most likely any rookie CB. It'd be utterly stupid to move him to FS. Now, I got no problem drafting someone to replace Vasher as our other CB, but that's a completely different deal.
  10. If you think Sam Bradford would have been the best QB in the draft, you are sorely mistaken. Bradford has talent, but hasn't played in anything remotely similar to an NFL offense.
  11. Stafford is an ELITE talent and is very smart and a leader on the field. I'd rank him above any QB in the past 3 years, and there's been some pretty good ones, including Cutler, Flacco, and Ryan.
  12. I read about this the other day. He'd be a real good option at FS. I want either him or Luis Delmas as our FS next year.
  13. The fact that the only playing time he could earn last year was a couple plays vs. the Texans, and from what Ron Turner said about him practically being terrible. He'll probably make the team though next year as we did invest a 3rd in him, but we did cut Bazuin and Okwo a year after we drafted them, and they were 2nd and 3rd round picks.
  14. Stafford and it really isn't even close.
  15. Furrey would be a very solid pickup to be our slot receiver. It sounds like Earl Bennett isn't cut out for the NFL, and will be lucky to make the roster next year. Furrey runs good crisp routes, is quick, is tough, and has reliable hands, everything you look for in a slot receiver. If we draft maybe Hakeem Nicks in round 2 (I think he'll be the for us, I see about 5-7 WR's taken before him) and sign Leonard Weaver, we have the potential for a solid receiving core: Z Receiver: Hester X Receiver: Nicks Y Receiver: Furrey/Olsen TE/4th Receiver: Clark/Olsen/Davis *FB: Weaver H Back: Forte
  16. 1. Moore will likely go in the 3rd to a team that needs a small, quick RB like New England. Plus, we don't need him as Angelo already said he thinks Wolfe's role will improve next season. Highly unlikely. NFL Scouts think so low of him he didn't even get a combine invite. At best, he'll be a 4th round pick, and that's if he REALLY impresses at his pro day. 2. I'd rather take DHB, Britt, or Nicks instead of Maclin, but whatever. Not a big fan of Maclin either, but to take any of the other guys over Maclin would be pretty stupid. 3. Bomar is a 5th or 6th rounder. Bomar is at worst the 5th best QB in this class. Granted, it's a week class, but he's definitely a round 2-3 prospect, and a 4th rounder at the latest, unless he really stinks up the combine for some reason. Bomar, IMO, is the 4th best QB in this class. 4. Loadholt had an awful Senior Bowl week and is now projected as a 3rd. I wouldn't mind getting him there. Loadholt had a very solid senior bowl week, and if anything, his stock went up. He's a solid round 2 prospect with the possibility of sneaking into round 1 with a very good combine. 5. Canfield had a great Senior Bowl week and now will go in the 2nd. I wouldn't mind getting him there. You can never tell with guards. Right now, Canfield is still a solid round 3 prospect.
  17. I'd gladly take Holt for a 3rd if he'd re-work his contract a bit. As for Pace, no.
  18. If for some bizarre reason Dawkins does not resign with the Eagles, I want him for us.
  19. Like I said a while ago, it's about time Lovie put his money where his mouth is. However, I don't trust Turner basically having full reigns over the offense now.
  20. ^ Brick Haley is who you're thinking of.
  21. I guess he's interviewing today, but odds are extremely unlikely that he'd accept the job. According to his agent, there's no way: http://www.collegefootballtalk.com/2009/02...r-to-pitt-talk/ While it would be utterly awesome if he excepted this job, it seems like the only way is if Wanny offers some sexual favors and he gets a nice big 3-4 year contract, which would make no sense for Pitt. However, it would be awesome if he did get the job, we bring in a new OC from the outside, and bring in a whole new offensive staff.
  22. The Pats won't trade Brady. 1.) he's proven that he's the best, or 2nd best, QB in the NFL, prior to his injury. 2.) He's the face of the franchise. and 3.) He's a captain on the team and trading him could affect the clubhouse.
  23. If Barden runs a 4.55, he'd be a lock for round 2.
  24. the only possible thing Wolfe can do in pass pro is cut. He doesn't have the size or strength to do much otherwise. I think we should install a package with him at RB, except that he rarely ever stays into block. When he's in, we either have FB in to provide pass pro, or we keep a TE in pass pro. The most blocking I want to see Wolfe do is pretend to stay in and block on screens, or chip the DE before going out for a check down route. I do like Wolfe however for 1-2 series a game to really change the pace with screens, swings, check downs, outside zone (stretch runs), and draws. If we could get a bruiser to compliment the balance of Forte and the quickness of Wolfe, that'd be a pretty good RB trio. Right now, I'm not very high on Peterson as anything more than a Special teamer and a backup RB/FB. My hope for FB next year: Quinn Johnson in round 4 or 5 of the draft, or Leonard Weaver via free agency.
