I don't think he was ever a potential option except for the armchair GM's here (myself included).

Scheme is a HUGE part of it. We constantly blitz, but when you blitz so much, you need to play man coverage, and actually be good at playing man coverage, and we weren't.

Jamar Williams is really only a WILL. He skill set does not fit for SAM. I guess he could play there, but he wouldn't be able to succeed. Williams is just basically a real good special teamer, and a possible starter who's burried on the depth chart, but provides good depth. A big reason why our line backers can't generate pass rush is because none of them really have any experience blitzing or any pass rush skills. And for our D right now, we blitz a ton, and we need to add personal that can blitz. We need to get a SAM who can effectively rush the passer. Roach is more of a take on blocker and cover guy, and Hillenmeyer is a combination of slowing down and injuries.

I don't mind at all if we suck next year and that leads to Lovie being fired.
-
The only consolation is that our coaches would freak him up anyway.
-
Joe Flacco is such a stud.
-
I ask because he spelled injury as "injurie" and his overall grammar was horrific. I usually don't mind bad grammar as I am no english wizard, but when you write in a manner an 8 year old would, there has to be a reason. Also, saying that TJ is younger then Boldin was pretty bad as well.
-
I don't mind any of our uniforms except the all white away uniform.
-
I forgot that Brown had 96.
-
I have a feeling we might just see Lovie completely take over the D. Babich might stay on as DC, but he'd be just an assistant.
-
Are you high? Go to NFL.com, and such both players. Maybe you'd like to reconsider this post. Also, injury is spelled with a "y", not an "ie". Not trying to be a grammar nazi, but wow.

Michael Johnson won't be a first round pick and will do nothing in the NFL. He's a freak from a physical stand point, but he isn't a football player. Simply, he's soft. As for Harvin, we don't need any more speedy deep threat receivers, considering our QB can't throw past 20 yards. We need someone who can cross the middle and be a solid receiver for us.

Suggs is a "3-4 OLB", but he played DE in college, played DE when the Ravens switched to a 4-3 for a year, and plays a lot of DE from them this year on passing downs (mainly because his coverage lacks compared to his pass rush ability).
-
Peppers is a FA, but the odds of him not being a Panther for the 2009-2010 season are about the same as lightning striking me twice. The Panthers are going to do everything in their power to keep Peppers, even if it means them losing Gross.
-
depends on if Marinelli still remember how to coach a DLine. However, how sweet of a sight would this be: Went with 99 since 55 is already taken, and since he'd be primarily DE with us, 99 makes sense, keep the double number. His college number is 48, so I guess maybe 58, 98, and 96 are possibilities.

Why oh why would you want to bring in another short WR who's only real tool is speed?
-
Okay, I can live with that. Also, Ed Reed is a stud. And while we are talking about this game, Cam Cameron is a great OC. The Ravens basically have my dream scenario from last year of having Joe Flacco at QB and Cam Cameron as OC and QB coach.

Same arm strengh? What??? Chad Pennington has quite possibly the weakest arm of any QB in the NFL. Orton has a strong arm, but beyond 20 yards, no accuracy or touch. Pennington and Orton have pretty much NOTHING in common, except they're both white, are right handed, and play QB in the NFL.

When I was going through scenario's in my head, I was trying to convince myself that Sanchez would be available for our pick, but I thought he'd likely go in the top 10-15 range if he came out. After his Rose Bowl performance though, and he's gonna tear up the combine/pro day, I think he could potentially be a top 5 pick. Stafford still has no. 1 locked up unless he stumbles in the offseason. I still don't think Bradford declares even if he does win the BCS. He's still so raw, and while he has possibly the highest ceiling of all the draft elligible QB's, he also has the lowest floor. If he does declare, I think he'd go in the mid-late part of round 1. He has so much potential, but like I said, he's very raw, and plays in a scheme that doesn't come close to resembling an NFL offense. I think with another year, he could be a top 5-10 pick, and really become a much more solid prospect (especially if he can put up big numbers with a lot of the offense missing). A dark horse is Josh Freeman from Kansas St. Has everything you look for in a QB, but lack of production and questionable football IQ pushes him down. I could see him being a legit possibility at 18 (or 17 if San Diego goes on to the Super Bowl)
-
I thought it was just implied.
-
The more I watch Joe Flacco, the more I wish we took him with no. 14. I was a huge Flacco fan last year, and I was surprised when he went 18, but now I wish we took him at 14. Oh well.
-
trade down is impossible with any top 5 picks (unless you're trading down/up within the top 5, but that's still really tough). If we had the no. 1 pick, I'd draft Matt Stafford yesterday.
-
What's this perception that Boldin can be had for a 1st and 3rd? He'd probably require a minimum of 2 first round picks.
-
People, Boldin isn't a UFA, RFA, or anything. He's simply signed through 2010 with the Arizona Cardinals. You think they will eat the rest of the money they owe him over the next two years, and lose a great receiver, for some draft picks? You gotta be kidding me. He's going to spend at least one more season with Arizona. Now, eventually Arizona might not be able to afford him, but as long as he's under contract with them, he's gonna play for them.
