  1. At least we won't have to see Payne at FS anymore... man, that was brutal to watch him trying to cover people. The only problem now is that we have to watch Steltz pull his AA impersonations.
  2. His stats aren't bad because he has someone as talented as Britt to throw to.
  3. But he sucks. Have you not seen him play?
  4. He's been getting doubled. Tiquan Underwood is a decent player, but he's the one getting single covered. Also, that draft site doesn't know what the freak it's talking about. Britt has been a stud for Rutgers these past 2 years, and the only reason he isn't considered a sure fire top 15 pick right now is because Mike Teel sucks. So any misunderstanding about his consistency is mainly due to his QB. Teel would have horrific stats right now if not for Britt.
  5. I'm not going to lie, if we play like we've been playing ever since Orton's injury, there's a good chance the Texans will beat us. They are a very good team at home.
  6. I agree. I think we should add someone who can throw in at LG right away (please be Duke!), and basically have Buenning, Beekman, Garza, and perhaps another draftee (I really like Trevor Canfield out of cinci in the 3rd round) compete for RG. As for 2010, this seems to be a much better class for Olinemen, with most notably Logan Mankins and Marcus McNeil, just to name a couple.
  7. Chris Kemoeatu is a decent player, but nothing special, IMO. First, he really doesn't fit our scheme where we like more athletic linemen who can move. While adding someone like him might help aid the dives and run plays right up the middle, he wouldn't help out our signiture run play of having both guards pull around the same side and make the hole for Forte on the outside. Also, after losing Faneca, the Steelers are likely to keep him. I personally would be in favor of drafting Duke Robinson in round 1, and having him and Williams pair up at the left side. Sure, it's a risk having practically 2 rookies at the left side, but there is so much upside there as well.
  8. Buenning actually started his rookie year for TB and many thought he should have been a pro-bowler that year. He had a bright start to his career, but it hit a fork in the road his sophomore year with a knee injury which kept him out of basically a half of the year in 06, and all of 07. Buenning is my sleeper for next year, as I feel if he's healthy, he can place himself at the top of the depth chart at either guard spot.
  9. The only problem with your idea there about a LG is... who? Mike Goff? I don't mind him as a solid RG, but him at LG could be a disaster, especially at his age. Plus, his play has been declining, which is expected when you are 32-33 and been in the league beating up your body for 10 years. Besides, there's a good chance San Diego retains him. The only 2 offensive linemen I like in free agency this year are Jordan Gross and Jahri Evans. However, Jordan Gross will likely sign a huge contract after his pro-bowl year this year. Also, after how well he played at LT, he will probably stay there for any new team he signs with. As for Jahri Evans, I'm a big fan of his, but he's an RFA, and depending on what type of tender he gets (if not a contract extension, which is likely), he'd likely cost us a 2nd rounder. However, he might be worth it, and he could easily slide into LG for us. He's only in his 3rd year though, so he might not be the type of guy you were thinking about. As for St. Clair, I'd love him back (possibly at LG), but you're right, a lot of teams need OLine, and if they can find a serviceably LT for a couple years, they might be willing to pay more for him then we might.
  10. Yeah, Britt's been real inconsistent. You know, he only had 81 receptions, 1,252 yards receiving, and only 6 TD's. Actually, you know what, that's pretty damn impressive for a guy who's QB was crap, and consistently being doubled. Plus, he's gonna be a stud during the combine/pro day. As for Sanchez, you're out of your mind if you think his play over the course of the season is going to drop him all the way to 3rd round. Sure, he didn't play as good as he could have over the season, but he still had a 3:1 TD:INT ratio, adding up to 30 TD's and 10 picks. Also, what he did during the season won't mean shit after his pro day/combine. He'll probably be the most impressive QB there, or at least second behind Stafford. He's gonna be a sure fire first rounder with a Jay Cutler type of rise. I could see the Seahawks surprising some and taking him in the top 10.
  11. If Mark Sanchez declares, he's gonna be a first round pick. Britt is gonna be a first round pick as well.
  12. With Rex's Sex Cannon, he can mate with anything.
  13. I wouldn't mind Marinelli as DLine coach though. Probably would never go for it, but if we are in the middle of a pipe dream... Jim Johnson DC, Rod Marinelli DLine, George Halas HC...
  14. I didn't see him lined up at receiver once yesterday. Maybe I missed it, but is it possible the coaches finally realized he sucks (at WR)?
  15. Well, his brother does pitch in the White Sox organization, so that could explain the hat. And if you think we are winning these games because of Lovie, you're way off. The only game I give to Lovie is the Eagles game. The Colts were a terrible team while Manning was going through pretty much his preseason, the Lions freakin suck (and they almost beat us the 2nd time, sadly), we won the 1st game vs. the Vikes mostly due to their mistakes, we got our dicks kicked in by the Packer for 3 halves, but the only reason why we won the 2nd meeting is because they gave it to us in the 2nd half, Rams freakin suck, same with the Jags this year, we went back and forth with the saints trying to give the game away and didn't play good at, and we'll see next week vs. the Texans. I don't know how, but we have a winning record after playing like a shitty team for the majority of the season.
  16. And sadly, you're right. So now, we have to go through another year of having him as our HC (which would have been the case anyway most likely). The packers handed us this game, and Lovie will get credit for doing a brilliant 2nd half turnaround.
  17. Yep, Rex Grossman would have certainly led us to the Super Bowl this year.
  18. Seeing the players play with absolutely no heart or passion in a huge rivalry game, as well as the biggest game of the year, is quite an obvious indication of a coach losing his team. We gotta fire Lovie, and sadly, the positives we can take out of these games is by getting embarrassed twice by the Packers and likely losing to Houston next week (Texans are a real good team, especially at home), the odds of us firing Lovie will increase.
  19. I don't even care about making the playoffs. Say whatever you want about me, but I'd rather not see us get embarrassed in the 1st round. Besides, making it to the playoffs would make it look like Lovie did a good job this year, which is far from the truth.

Nothing. Tillman has been this team's best corner even when Vasher was getting all the hype, and having Vasher return to a high level of play would give us a great corner back duo again. Having Graham as excellent depth only makes the situation better. We can keep Tillman and Vasher fresh by having both of them rotate in. Let Graham be the primary backup for both of them, and let's not forget about McBride. Also, good FS's are a whole lot easier to come by then good corners.

That's all fine and dandy, but you still don't move your top corner, and top 20-15 corner in the league, to FS. That's just stupid. I could see if Tillman was consistently struggling at Corner, but he's not. Don't fix what isn't broken.
  22. larry english is a 2nd round prospect right now with a shot at the 1st...

He's on the wrong side of 30, but he's still a great receiver and would be better then anything we have. Perhaps the Lovie connection would bring him here. However, I have a feeling if Martz stays on as SF's OC, Holt might be reunited with his buddy Bruce.
  24. lol, I guess sarcasm really doesn't work over a board...
  25. I'm really starting to buy into the idea of special teams coordinators being some of the best fits for head coaches. I was first kind of skeptical about Harbaugh as a HC at first, but now I am sold. And when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Special teams coordinators need to work with everyone on a team. They work with WR's, DB's, LB's, RB's, FB's, DL, OL, TE's, as well as all the LS, P, and K. For example, while a coach specialized on defense will interact with and be around everyone on D, they will barely interact with anyone on O. They might talk to guys on O and such, but there won't be that type of connection they have with their defensive players. Toub however interacts with everyone and makes connections with almost everyone on the team, most likely. Also, being a special teams coordinator, you have to work with new players every week. Look at us, and how many times we'd lose players and sign players off of other teams. I guarantee no other coach on the staff has worked with as many different players as Toub has. Another thing, Toub has consistently had to work different players into his schemes every week. This is something very difficult to do, and yet, the special teams has kept improving over the weeks. Also, as a HC, Toub would likely not interfere with his coaches at all, and let them coach. Toub has been mainly a special teams coach his whole career and is not specialized in anything but that. I feel sometimes, with a lot of teams, that the HC tries to coach too much. Toub would be able to let his OC and DC do their job, which is a must, IMO. And most importantly, from everything I have heard, read, and seen for myself, Toub is a very intelligent person, and most importantly, he gets fired up and is not afraid to get in someone's face. To me, he doesn't seem like the type of coach you would stay away from because he is a psycho, but rather he is a cool and calm guy who will stay that way unless you're not doing what you're suppossed to be doing. Sign me up for Dave Toub as HC after we hopefully fire Lovie after next season.
