the only redzone play Turner needs is the FB Dive.
-
Last year on madden, Olsen was my FB and he was a stud. No LB could cover him out of the backfield, and he would break off some long runs on FB dives. Only problem was/is his fumbling. As for Davis, he's an upgrade over McKie, but they both need to be/should be replaced. Give me Leonard Weaver, a great all around FB, via free agency, and lets draft someone like Sutherland to be the backup. I would love a jumbo set, a la the Ravens, with Weaver at RB and Sutherland at FB.

If I hear one more person say we should move Peanut to FS, I'm gonna flip. Maybe when he's nearing the end of his career, but right when he's in his prime? You gotta be shitting me. Wanting to move your best corner to FS is beyond stupid. My god, what a stupid freakin idea.

There's only a handful of college QB's in history that would have beat out Matt Lienart for the USC QB job.
-
We should have around 20 million in cap room next year, so that should leave us with plenty of cash to make a big time free agent signing, and I am hoping that signing is Terrell Suggs. Spending money anywhere else then DE in this free agent class would be stupid, IMO. Build the oline through the draft, and to fix our pass rushing problems, sign a beast like Suggs.

Give me Terrell Suggs and Leonard Weaver...

I personally feel we need a subforum in here to separate college football and the draft from the Bears. I don't know about others, but when I click on this forum, I look for Bears and NFL news, and I think separating the two would be beneficial. Thoughts?

With a competent coaching staff, we should have anywhere between 11-14 wins this year.
-
WTF? Are you planning on having the whole coaching staff fired and us changing schemes? Besides, that draft is icky. Yeah, 3-4 DE isn't much a need for us, and moving him to UT would be like moving Tommie Harris to a 3-4 DE, it would be just stupid. Yeah, he's a decent player but far from the 2nd best OG in the nation, and he sure as hell isn't worth a 2nd round pick. Besides, he doesn't fit this team's scheme any way. We need guards who can move as well, and Kraig Urbik really can't move that well. He'd be a good fit for someone like the Jags who run a big power running scheme, but that's not us. We need someone who just isn't a mauler, but can also pull and block effectively on the move. That is what makes Duke Robinson such a great player and great fit for us, and I'd love to take him in the 1st. meh. I have mixed feelings on him, but at this point, it's decent. I'm a big fan of this guy, but I would be shocked if he was here, and wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him go in either the late 20's of the first round, but more then likely in the same range that Forte did. Also, this guy is a true LT, very similar to Chris Williams, who is not a fit at RT, for any scheme. Meh, he sucks, but so do most other senior receivers in this draft. Rather get someone who doesn't suck.

I wasn't saying the players should participate in the flag football game, but rather have the former players flag football game they have every year. And for the skills competition, have the kicking competition, the QB skills challenge, etc.
-
Ced has actually been pretty decent this year, and he obviously always had the talent to be a top RB in the league, but good riddance to that scum. He wouldn't have 1,800 yards rushing this year, and he doesn't have to work ethic or drive to become a 1,100 yard rusher. We have an actual human being on our team right now, who has the drive and determination to be a great back in the league for many years to come.
-
Another thing going unnoticed about Manning is that this year he has developed nicely into a very solid nickel back.

I'm going to bring it up once again. Ocho Cinco?

I'm all for bringing in a WR, but I think we need to start bringing in players who are not only good players, but not a-hole's. Johnson is quite frankly scum, and I don't want loser scum on my team. -
the pro-bowl sucks. They should just do what the colleges do. Have a 1st team all-division for each 8 divisions, have a 1st and 2nd team all conference team for each conference, and then have a 1st and 2nd all pro team (and don't let idiot fans pick these teams, have the coaches and players decide them). Then, for Hawaii, just have a skills competition, that one flag football game they have, and invite all players on the teams to come down and enjoy a weekend in Hawaii. Fans would still go down there, and they wouldn't have to watch a boring ass game of football.

Adams has shown an excellent ability of dropping the double team, IMO. When you get doubled, especially in the NFL, odds are you're not shedding it. The difference between Dusty and Adams has been being able to feel the double team and drop it. Dusty either had no feel for when the double was coming, or was to stupid to drop it. This led to him getting driven right into the linebackers, opening up big holes for the other team, and making it easy for the linemen. Adams however would have a feel for the double on run plays and drop it, causing a pile and taking up both defenders, and freeing the linebackers to make a play. Plus, Adams showed a tremendous ability in short yardage situations, most notably on the 3rd and very short play in the 4th quarter vs. the Saints. Adams fires off of the ball, gets below the linemen, and basically blows up the whole play. It was a thing of beauty to watch (except for Olinemen, like me). I know I might be in the minority here, but I honestly wouldn't mind us getting embarrassed in the next two games if it meant the possibility of us canning Lovie and the rest of the staff (I like Angelo, but he could go as well). However, that ain't happening, even if we do get embarrassed in the next two games. I don't really mind the cover 2 scheme and such, but our version is just so damn disgusting, and for a so called defensive expert, Lovie sucks.
-
As I stated in a previous thread, our odds for making the playoffs are very slim. But, I actually don't mind as we don't deserve to be in the playoffs, we'd just get embarrassed by a much better team.
-
I don't know if you noticed, but I was pushing for us to resign Berrian since during last season.
-
I'm not saying they're currupt, but rather JA and Lovie always play their crappy picks to try and save face.
-
You think the majority of players in the NFL are worth the "coin" they're paid? freak no. But so far, Berrian has proved to be a dangerous weapon for Minnesota and is putting up big numbers with QB's as bad, if not worse, then our QB's from last year. Hell, even last year Berrian caught 71 passes and put up nearly 1,000 yards when he was quite frankly the only weapon the offense had, and that was with 3 different QB's who pretty much all sucked last year. Now is he worth a 6 year 43 million deal? No, but Hester was far from being worth 4 years 40 million. Letting Berrian go was one of the dumbest moves this current organization has done in the past couple of year. Now, how stupid is it that we gave an unproven WR (albeit he was the best KR/PR in the league) as much, if not more money, then a proven WR like Berrian? To make matters worse, Hester still had 2 years left on his contract. And thanks for making up something about me, saying I wanted Andre Woodson with the 14 pick. Early in the 2007 season I might have tossed around the idea of Woodson in the 1st round, but back then Woodson was considered a possible top 10 pick.

You know, when you have someone playing as bad as Dusty was and getting the majority of PT while Anthony Adams was inactive, something fishy was going on.
-
After today, if the Vikings win just one more game (most likely since the Giants game will be vs. their backups), they clinch the NFC North because of the tie-breakers, correct? Yeah, the odds of us making the playoffs are not good (especially since I think we are so bad that the Texans will likely beat us, and who knows with the Packers, they suck but they raped us). Man, our team as a whole is just bad. How exactly did we win 8 games so far?
-
Dusty was far from mediocre, he freakin sucked. I think you are completely right about the Angelo/Lovie ass licking because Adams is clearly leaps and bounds better then Dvoracek.
-
Are you freakin crazy? Compare him to any receiver we have had in the past 3-4 years, and he's leaps and bounds the best. He was the closest thing we had to a no. 1 receiver in a long time. Should we have given him the contract he got? Maybe, but we sure as hell should have tagged him. My god, how dense can you be?
-
As others have stated, Turner is a really smart offensive mind, but he is inconsistent and for some reason he makes some retarded ass play calls, trying to get cute I guess. If it was up to me, this whole staff would be gone after this year.
-
With Kenny Britt's total package of awesome-ness, I see him jumping up and being the 3rd receiver taken in the draft after Crabtree and Heywood-Bey. Hell, I think he could even jump past DHB if everything goes good for Britt at the combine/pro-day. The guy is simply a stud. As for 2nd round receivers, it'd depend on who is there. If it's someone like Harvin, what the hell. I'd pass on players with low ceilings like Louis Murphy and Brian Robiskie though.
