maybe he'd make a good HC... The Ravens are off to a good start with Harbaugh, a former ST coordinator, as their HC. Speaking of the Ravens, man I wish we picked Flacco at 14...

I'm an offensive lineman.

Blindly defending him? What the freak are you talking about? I saw the game today, and Orton played well enough for us to win. What's going on here is you purposely bashing him to make Grossman look better. I'm always the first one to say it, we need a QB. But my gosh, MSNBC is to Obama as you are to Grossman.
-
Wow, talk about a ridiculous post. Yeah, maybe Grossman makes those throse. But have you ever thaught about any of the other 60 or so plays ran by the Bears O and Orton today? You keep bringing up those deep throws, but that's less then 10% of the game right there. And Orton played well today, and you saying he played like shit just shows how much of a bais you have. I'd gladly take a day from Orton where he completes over 60% of his passes, throws us one score (subtract one because of the pick 6), and gives us a good chance to win. I love how you keep forgetting to mention how Davis drops the likely winning catch in OT (he catches, there's a 95% chance we win), and still place all the blame (or most of it) on Orton.
-
I like you and all, but I'd be surprised if you played organized football passed grade school. I play high school football right now, and if I see any of my teammates getting whaled on by some fatass on the other team, you bet your ass that I would jump in there and defend them. There's a special kind of connection you create with a lot of your teammates, and a lot of them become pretty much like family to you. And if you can tell, Tillman isn't the only Bear that was in the middle of all of that, they just called it on him.
-
I have defended all players when they deserved to be defended. You are bashing Orton today for no good reason when it is quite simply NOT his fault for the loss today. And wow, what a BS comment you made at the end. I recall a post you made earlier about how that if Grossman was our starting QB we'd be 3-0. Now all of a sudden you don't care? Any non-baised football fan can see that Orton isn't reason for us being 1-2. However, you and all the Grossman homers all find any little thing wrong you can find and tear Orton apart over it.
-
For as long as I've been here, I have defended both Grossman and Orton when the time called for it, and I have bashed both when the time has called for it. It's no secret that both suck, but Grossman is clearly not the answer and to anyone who thinks so is quite simply wrong.
-
What Tillman did was stupid, but you can't fault a guy for sticking up for his teammates. Besides, if we don't have Tillman, we are likely not in the game come the 4th quarter, as Tillman was a key contributer all game. His forced fumble was huge for us.
-
Actually, it was Davis, but yeah, you're right. I'm trying to figure out how Grossman got all of these fans to bend over for him. Must be his sex cannon.
-
Because any one with half a brain can tell you are blaming Orton for this pick because of your bais for Grossman.
-
Yeah, it was underthrown. But saying it was picked because it was underthrown is ridiculous. That's the same as saying it was picked because it was dropped by Forte. Also, Forte is a RB, but last time I checked, he's a football player as well, so that arguement about him not being a wideout is stupid. Part of the job for a running back is to go out and be a receiver as well. If Forte was a one dimensional runningback and couldn't catch, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have him running all these passing patterns for us, and being one of our top receivers. You can't blame either of them for that pick, as in all reality, it was a lucky break for the Bucs with that guy somehow keeping the ball from hitting the ground. Or, from a bit different perspective, you can blame both of them for that pick. But to blame just one or the other for that pick is flat out idiotic and seriously question your intelligence if you do.
-
I'm just pointing our your homer-ness for Grossman. I guarantee you if that was Grossman at QB when that play happened, you would not be bitching and moaning.
-
LMAO, what a stupid ass point. And if it isn't dropped, it's a TD as well. Yeah, a pick is a pick, but my god, is your boner so large for Grossman that you are going to bitch about that interception? If you are going to bitch about one of Orton's passes, bitch about that one screen pass. Don't bitch about one that wasn't his fault.
-
the only middle ground I would see if he tries to implement it over the course of a few years like Cower's replacement is doing with the Steelers now. But still, I don't like the idea of hiring a coach to run a system he isn't specialized in. Besides, why are we even talking about this? Lovie isn't going anywhere after this season. And I am comfortable with Lovie as our HC with Babich as our DC as long as we get ourselves an offense.
-
Why hire a head coach to not run his system then?
-
And he's right. If anyone blames that INT on Orton, you're freakin crazy. Not only was it a lucky catch by the linebacker to come down with the pick, but the ball should have been caught.
-
I think the bigger blown call was the ref ruling Clayton down when he clearly fumbled it.
-
Yeah, it was underthrown, but it was also dropped. I just realized, we are all putting the blame on someone, but the one we should be blaming is Rashied-please go back to the AFL-Davis. He dropped a perfect pass right to him which would have very likely won it for us. Davis had a bad game last week, and after that dropped pass today, I'd like to see him inactive next week and have Bennett play the slot.
-
I guess we weren't watching the same game as Orton actually showed very good pocket presence today.
-
The offense got 24 points, you should be happy with that. Have you forgotten that besides for Forte, we have no long term answer at any offensive position?
-
Is it okay to say that your opinion is stupid because Grossman is a much worse QB? Lets say Grossman could hit the deep man, okay. But lets face it, Grossman wouldn't have avoided the rush like Orton did and Grossman has shown time after time he is a horrible decision maker. It is quite simple, each QB has different skill sets, and while Grossman probably would have been able to have hit the deep man more often, it's also safe to say that Grossman would have gotten sacked much more then Orton and turn the ball over more.
-
That is such a garbage excuse for the D. You know the offense was tired as well, and the D had plenty of rest until that point. This just shows how out of shape our D is. They are great for a half, but after that and going into the 4th, they break down. You know why? Because they are "too good" to have to spend the time in the offseason to work on getting better. Look at what the D did in preseason, they took it easy and looked like crap. If their preseason was any indication of what they did in the offseason, it should be no surprise to see them being gassed come the 4th quarter.
-
doesn't matter. Look at what this Eagles D is doing to the Steelers O. Imagine what they will do vs. a weaker OLine, and an overall worse offense.
-
Hiring Bill Cower would be basically conceding the next 2+ years as we would have to retool our entire defense, and not to mention, we already have to rebuild our entire O. The way I see it is the only person(s) getting fired is Ron Turner and most of his assistant coaches, but that's only if we miss the playoffs and the offense shows no progress. If we miss the playoffs, I think Lovie Smith and his coaching staff would have one more year.
-
Maybe 6 if Grossman would start. Your arguement about the interceptions baffles me as Rex Grossman is the pick master.
