  1. Time of possession today (including OT): Bears - 39:17; Bucs - 31:22. To say the D was on the field too long, before OT, is ludicrous.
  2. And that shows a lack of work in the offseason. I could see the D being exhausted if the other team had the ball for a good portion of the game, but we had the advantage of time of possession.
  3. The one with Forte was under-thrown, but it still should have been caught. To say because it was underthrown it wasn't Forte's fault is stupid.
  4. LMAO... when will people realize Grossman is not good. He is quite simply a head case. I'm not gonna sit here and say Orton is good, but he is certainly better then Grossman. Unlike Grossman, Orton actually has some pocket presence, can take a sack (instead of back pedaling 10+ yards and then either getting sacked or picked), is a much better game manager, and I think the team as a whole has more support behind Orton. Do we need a better QB? Of course, but to think Grossman is the answer and would have lead this team to a 3-0 record on this season is as crazy as thinking Orton is the answer at QB. Neither are the answer, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd easily pick Orton.
  5. Bears 20, Bucs 14... no explanation needed.
  6. QB is a crapshoot this year unless you pick in the top 5. Matt Stafford is the best hope for a franchise QB in this draft, and he will be gone in the top 5. Tebow, I doubt we want to take the risk with him. I say we break the bank in the offseason and sign Roy Williams to be our no. 1 WR, and then sign Kurt Warner to compete with Orton as the starter. My offseason plan: -Sign WR Roy Williams -Sign QB Kurt Warner -Re-sign OL John St. Clair and LB Nick Roach -Let the following go: RB Kevin Jones (wants big payday), QB Rex Grossman, and RT Fred Miller -Marty Booker and Anthony Adams: possible cap casualties DRAFT - I see us predicting between 16-22. Because I am an optimistic, I predict us to pick at 22. We get an additional 3rd round compensation pick for Berrian: 1.) OG Duke Robinson, Oklahoma -We get one of the best young left sides in all of football with Chris Williams at LT and Robinson at LG. 2.) SS Patrick Chung, Oregon -Somewhat wishful thinking that he'd be here, but I am an optimistic. Chung reminds me a ton of Mike Brown, as he is a leader on the field, and can play the run or the pass. 3.) OT Alex Boone, Ohio St. -Big mauler who will have to be moved to RT. Eventual replacement for Tait. 3b.) WR Sammie Slaughter, Oregon St. -Has dropped because of some injury concerns, but I like him as a slot receiver type, and can backup Hester at PR/KR. 4.) RB Tyrell Sutton, Northwestern -Yes, Matt Forte is our guy at RB, but I am not comfortable with Wolfe and Peterson as his backups if Jones does indeed leave. Sutton is about the same height as Wolfe, but he is bigger and stronger. Sutton, I think, could become a Brian Westbrook-light type of player. He has his own injury concerns, but he is as tough as a runner as you get. 5.) FB Brannan Southerland, Georgia -I'm getting sick of seeing McKie out there. Just watch this video of him, and you will want him as well: 6 & 7) BPA PROJECTED STARTING OFFENSE (D and ST stay pretty much the same) WR - Roy Williams TE - Dez Clark RT - John Tait RG - Garza/Beekman/Buenning C - Olin Kreutz LG - Duke Robinson LT - Chris Williams QB - Kurt Warner RB - Matt Forte FB - Brannan Southerland
  7. hopefully we bring Bowman back... if he's still available.
  8. do you forget that Jackson has one of the better offensive lines in football, the best running game in football, and two solid receiving targets in Berrian and Rice?
  9. He's constantly getting doubled. And as a Dlineman, if you are getting doubled every play, you're doing your job.
  10. Orton does suck... but Grossman sucks as much, if not more.
  11. Bears offseason wishlist: Kurt Warner and Roy Williams...
  12. I realize that was a stupid statement... I was just blowing off some steam.

    I Blame

true, Olsen does share a good portion of the blame. But as a coach, you have to adjust to these things.

    I Blame

Oh, it was no doubt they sucked, but the play calling was far worse.
  15. Ron Turner. This offense sucks, but you at least have to call plays where they have a chance to succeed, and Turner did a terrible job of doing that in the second half. Greg Olsen is also very close to becoming a bust.

    Offense

I think a big thing is that we have no deep threat. Hester maybe, but teams are always aware when he's on the field. Lloyd isn't fast, and Davis was garbage today, dropped a couple passes that he should have caught.
  17. This offense obviously does suck, but Ron Turner had some of the worst play calling in this game I have ever seen. He should be fired on the spot and be replaced with anyone with half a brain.
  18. The Bears show last week was no fluke: Bears 34, Panthers 10.
  19. My mock if we pick between 16-22.... 1. S William Moore, Missouri 2. RT Alex Boone, Ohio St. 3. WR Demetrius Byrd, LSU 3. (COMP. via Berrian) C/OG Antoine Caldwell, Alabama 4. QB Rudy Carpenter, Arizona St.
  20. Last time I checked, it was his Mama was talking about retirement. Young was probably letting off some steam to his mom, and then his mom goes out and makes a stupid comment to the media.
  21. I think people are making to big of a deal about this...
  22. Philly, Jacksonville, Tennessee, New Orleans, both Green Bay games, and both Minnesota games are the games that are going to give us the most trouble this year, IMO. Texans are no push over either. However, we have a legitimate shot at the playoffs.
  23. meh, he knows the system... probably wouldn't do any worse then Barton if he had to fill in at RT for some reason.
  24. He and Jacoby Ellsbury share a birthday...
  25. This I agree with. I'll go on the record by saying 10-6.
