  1. It's never too early to look ahead.
  2. I'm not a gambling man, but damn, I wish I was one earlier tonight.
  3. Buening might be a nice addition and eventually replace Garza (who has been playing pretty poorly, IMO). IIRC, some felt that Buening was a pro-bowl guard his rookie season, but injuries set him back after that year and then he got burried on the depth chart. I also wasn't impressed with either tackle, but they were one of the better pass rushing duo's we'll see all season. I am really starting to like Harrison as well.
  4. It was refreshing to actually see a Bear QB actually call audibles at the line for once. Part of it probably had to do with the fact the Bears did study film of the Colts and Peyton for all of the offseason and preseason.
  5. Damn, was off by a total of 3 points in my prediction... Marcus Harrison is a freaking beast! I'd say we have the best trio of DT's in the league now with Tommie, DD, and Harrison now. That's not including Idonije who looked pretty darn good as well.
  6. I've seen High School Defenses that played more physical then the Lions did today.
  7. I know it's not gonna happen, but I can't help but be a homer...
  8. Call me crazy, but... Bears 31, Colts 14.
  9. I think signing Willie would be a solid move.
  10. Did people honestly think we would be stupid enough not to carry 3 QB's, especially when Hanie showed more potential than all QB's in camp?
  11. As long as he would be brought in to replace Grossman and not Hanie.
  12. Also, Ugoh is overrated. If he played for the Bears, he'd likely not be that good... however, he was put in the completely perfect situation with the Colts. The Colts could make any bad-mediocre OLineman and turn them into all-pros. And I don't blame us for the trade down, we got a ton of value for that pick. It was poor execution with the picks though... even though I think we should have kept Bazuin.
  13. I fail to see why we would keep Toenia instead of Bazuin...
  14. I don't care if he had been playing with it his whole life pain free... I still wouldn't have touched him with a ten foot pole. Taking someone that high who does have back concerns is quite simply stupid, even if he was "healthy."
  15. I never said anything about cutting. Bazuin has looked pretty good on the field this preseason, contrary to what some people think, and is our 4th DE. Mark Anderson is our pass rush specialist, but in all reality, that's all he is. He doesn't have the size our power to be a fulltime DE as we saw last year. So if one of Ogunleye or Brown goes down, that leaves us just with Anderson. It's never a bad thing to have a lot of depth. Also, Idonije isn't a DE anymore, and I wouldn't even say he was a DE for us before. The only time he will play DE for us is if we either have mass injuries at the DE spot or perhaps in goalline. Idonije will be our 3rd down DT.
  16. I have always gave Angelo the benefit of the doubt and have defended him in a lot of cases, but this is freakin pitiful. I wouldn't be surprised to see Williams take the same route as Colombu, except that Williams will never catch on with another team... Back injuries stay with you for your whole life. Look at Joe Crede right now. freakin boneheaded move. We could have Branden Albert right now too...
  17. I would be really surprised to see Bazuin IR'ed. Okwo on the other hand though...
  18. It has always seemed to me that the bad teams always have good records in preseason and the good teams bad-mediocre records in preseason.

    Usain Bolt

If he has any idea how to play the game of baseball, he should try and be a PR specialist.
  20. too be honest, after watching Rex completely suck it up Thursday night, I would not be oppossed to cutting him and bringing in someone else to be the backup... perhaps just cutting ties with him all together would eliminate any possible distractions.
  21. People must remember not to put too much stock into preseason games...
  22. DE's aren't suppossed to go inside unless they are on a stunt. They are suppossed to go from the outside in. And they did do a good job of not biting on the play fakes and roll outs. And don't complain about Tommie Harris not making an impact. He was making an impact all night because he was being doubled all night. He took up 2 defenders and allowed his linebacker to do the work. The primary goal for a DLineman is not to get pushed back into the linebackers. Also, when Adams, Harrison, or Dvorcek are lined up next to Harris, he makes them better because they only have 1 blocker to beat.
  23. This is a bigger blow then some might think. Not huge by any means, but he was a solid backup and very good special teamer. The final two linebacker spots are now between McClover, Roach, and Okwo now. I don't think we will carry more then 6, but you never know with the Bears.
  24. Josh Gattis will probably come right down to the wire. Good special teamer and backup at safety. The other 7 though, yeah, they gone!
