    Welcome to 4-12

I think Barton could be an eventual replacement for Tait. He has looked good from what I've seen. And he could replace Tait as soon as next year. The thing I liked most about Beekman was that he was quick off the ball and agressive. On one run play, I saw him give one hell of a chip block on the DT to help out Kruetz, and then he waddled up to backer and made an excellent block on him. However, I think he will be the eventual replacement for Garza at RG as I don't think he has the mobility you'd like for a LG. He will suffice for now though. I don't know what has caused Garza's downfall, but he was very mediocre, if not worse, last year and has looked pretty bad this year. Perhaps it's his knee's causing him to play so poorly.

    Welcome to 4-12

An Oline heavy draft wouldn't have done much for the present, as most rookie linemen rarely ever make much of an impact. However, it would have helped for the future.

    Welcome to 4-12

No one is acting like he's a "god." In fact, most people here realize that he sucks. However, some people, like me, feel he sucks a little less then Grossman. Hopefully, instead of being afraid to take a hit like Grossman, Orton will have the courage to actually step up into the pocket once in a while.

    Welcome to 4-12

The first sack was Forte's fault, but that's a tough play for any RB. The Bears had a slide protection call on to the right, and because Beekman was uncovered, it was a 4 man slide instead of 3. So, the only one that wouldn't slide down on that would be St. Clair (or the backside tackle), and he is locked up with the end, even though Tatupu was over him. Usually in slide protection, the RB is responsable for that LB. I can't really blame the Bears at all for that sack, as Seattle did have the perfect play call to counter our offensive call.
  5. I think Olsen needs to be moved to wideout. One dimensional TE's never amount to much in this league, and as of now, Olsen is a one dimensional TE. And, Olsen does have the triangular numbers and athleticism to be a good wideout, IMO.
  6. Bazuin actually had a good game last night...

    OLINE

Oh, it sucked for Grossman, he had practically no time to throw. However, he showed little pocket pressence and did his usual back-pedaling. I remember watching a play with Hanie at QB where the Seahawks got a ton of pressure on him, but Hanie felt that pressure, avoided it, and made a play. I'd like to see Grossman feel the pressure, avoid it, and make a play just one time.

    OLINE

While the Oline didn't help out Grossman, Grossman handled the pressure terribly.
  9. We couldn't have done much, and while I would have loved Faneca, he got a ridiculous contract from the Jets we couldn't match, and would be pretty stupid to pay him all that money as he is getting up there in years. The move we should have made though was to franchise Berrian. He might not have been worth that 7+ million, but he was our best offensive weapon and it wouldn't have been like we made some long term commitment on him with 20 some million guaranteed. But instead, we let him walk, and he signs with the Vikings, making them even better. Most people think Jackson sucks, but I guarantee you guys he is going to have a huge season for Minnesota. I think I could do decent with their Oline blocking for me, with Peterson and Taylor running, and two very solid receivers in Berrian and Rice. Plus, with a great D that will likely shutdown opposing offenses.
  10. Olsen needs to learn how to block or else he will never be much more then a situational player... As someone else stated, Davis very well may be our top TE after Clark leaves. The only one on the Oline I was some-what impressed with was Beekman. He looked good in both run and pass blocking. He made a couple very good double team blocks with Kreutz.
  11. I personally don't care. If what he has to say effects the team in any way, shape, or form... then well shame on the Bears.
  12. wow, if I didn't know any better, it'd seem like Tank was talking about Bears 88's mother or something.
  13. 2007 Dan Bazuin DE Central Michigan - the guy hasn't even had a chance to play wait and already he didn't work out? Michael Okwo LB Stanford - same boat as Bazuin Josh Beekman G Boston College - same boat as Bazuin Aaron Brant T Iowa State - oh, a 7th round pick didn't work out... cry me a river. You can't declare players a bust after one year. What a terrible example ----------------------- 2006 Danieal Manning DB Abilene Christian - still a solid backup and special teamer. Certainly not what we had in plan, but still an assett to the team Dusty Dvoracek DT Oklahoma - wow, because he got injured it's JA's fault? Actually, in the time DD has been healthy, he has been our 2nd best DT Jamar Williams LB Arizona State - he's one of our top special teamers and could easily start on several teams. Wow, what a terrible example J.D. Runnels RB Oklahoma - wow, a late round FB didn't work out Tyler Reed G Penn State - hey, for a late round pick, he's still around ----------------------- 2005 Cedric Benson RB Texas - can't blame JA for this pick. Have you seen what the other options that year have done Mark Bradley WR Oklahoma - showed flashes, but not living up to his early 2nd round selection Kyle Orton QB Purdue - I'd have to say this was one of JA's better picks. Do you expect all second day QB's to be Tom Brady? Airese Currie WR Clemson - a late round receiver who didn't pan out. Yipee. Chris Harris DB Louisiana-Monroe - he was a key starter for us and is an excellent starter now for Caroline. What the hell are you smoking by listing him? In fact, the mistake was trading him. Rodriques Wilson DB South Carolina - a 7th round linebacker who contributes on ST and is a solid backup is a bad pick? Seriously, WTF are you thinking? ----------------------- 2004 Tank Johnson DT Washington - Was a solid starter for us and you can't plan on him having an arsenal of weapons in his house. Leon Joe LB Maryland - a 4th round LB who was a solid contributer on special teams for a couple years Claude Harriott DE Pittsburgh - a 2nd day DE who didn't work out, yeah, JA should be fired Craig Krenzel QB Ohio State - a late round QB who actually had to start for us for a little bit his rookie year, yeah Alfonso Marshall DB Miami (FL) - a late round DB who didn't do anything, STUPID PICK! ----------------------- 2002 and 2003 hardly count as that was when Jouran was still calling all the shots. nfoligno, wtf were thinking when you made that post? Those were the worst examples I have ever seen.
  14. Did Jerry Angelo piss in your coffee or something? I love how players not even in their 2nd season already can be labeled as bad picks. I also like how you use late round picks as example. Wow, a 7th rounder didn't work out! What was Jerry Angelo thinking, taking someone who didn't pan out in the 7th round! ZOMG!@**(@^# Give me a break.
  15. Okwo will probably be on IR again... I never liked that pick.
  16. from the article: I am definitely getting the Mexican version of Madden! Oh yeah, Hanie is a stud
  17. I'd much rather bring in Ruben Brown for a shot at LG then see Fred Miller back.
  18. If both Grossman and Orton suck up this season again, at least late in the season maybe Hanie would get a few starts.
  19. Our run blocking was pretty poor, IMO, but at least they gave Rex and Kyle time to throw.
  20. The thing I loved about Hanie was his awareness and pocket presence. Plus, instead of doing that pussy ass feet first slid QB's do when they scramble, Hanie put his head down and went for every possible yard he could get.
  21. So? This is after all a UDFA from Colorado St. What, did you want him playing vs. 1st teams defenses from the minute he got into the NFL?
  22. he's out for the year, I guarantee it. Any form of back surgery usually takes a long time to recover from, and usually surgeries that involve fixing a herniated disk take almost a year to recover from. They say this is an unrelated injury to the one that broke before camp, but I doubt that. This is just the FO's way of saving face. If this injury is unrelated to the one that broke before the draft, that is one hell of a coincidence and we are the most unlucky team in the NFL when it comes to 1st round OLinemen... I think I can speak for all of us when I say, this blows!
  23. I am just looooooving (no, I'm not) the fact that Chris Williams will probably be out for the whole season now!
  24. Oh yeah, I am really hoping Farve has a pro-bowl season. If that happens, you know the only way packer nation won't be up in flames is if Rodgers has a pro-bowl season. If Rodgers doesn't match Farve's season, that will be a site to see! I think packer fans would be jumping off of buildings around the country.
  25. I wouldn't mind Pennington. He has no arm, but he is one of the best ball managers in football. However, as soon as he gets cut, I guarantee you the Vikes snag him up. The vikes have been wanting to get Pennington for a few years now, and he'd be a good fit for their offense.
