Honestly, how many players have we heard about besides the two QB's and players who wanted new contracts? I see with your almighty wisdom you can tell that he is wasted pick already. You've never seen him play, and you probably never heard of him before we drafted him, but that is all the info you need to declare a player a bust... I wish I had your knowledge.
-
sounds reasonable. I really believe every contract should be based off of incentives.
-
Hey ChileBear, just curious, but are you a native of Chile or are you an american living down there, or perhaps even something else???
-
I phrased it wrong... Orton can throw the ball farther, but doesn't possess the same zip and accuracy that Rex does.
-
I do think his arm is stronger, but like you said, he doesn't have the same touch on his throws.
-
I saw Beekman in college, he is strictly a C/RG.
-
LG better be St. Clair. Metcalf is a fat lard and sucks, and Beekman doesn't have the mobility for LG.
-
I think the difference is that his arms are more proportional to his body.

After Hester, do we have anyone left to lockup (besides signing Williams)? Man, it is nice to know we will have our best players for another 4-6 years with Vasher, Tillman, Harris, Briggs, Urlacher, and possibly Hester. Hopefully after this season we can put Williams in our best players list. Man, would it be GREAT if he is our franchise LT. Also, I love Urlacher on the field... but I am sure that extra million per season was a necessity for his life style. After all, how can you put a roof over your head and pay all that child support for all your illegitimate children on only 6.5 million per year?
-
nah, not really. I don't see anything "bold" happening.

DEFENSE: I see Steltz solidifying the SS spot with McGowan being a situation player and special teamer. Graham will be Tillman's backup and McBride will be Vasher's because of their skill sets. D Manning will have the nickleback spot and stay there even if there is an injury so we can avoid having to move too many players around. OFFENSE: Earl Bennett becomes the slot receiver and a really good contributor to the O. Our TE duo however will be our biggest weapon on offense. Forte has a solid rookie season and contends for OROY. Hester won't really contribute much on offense but still gives us great field from special teams.

And you by far made the stupidest comment I have seen on here in a while.
-
I still think we can win on opening day, if the defense plays the way I think it can at 100%. I think our D has a chance to be epic. We have solid D-Line depth and a starting line good enough to cause pressure by themselves without having to blitz anyone. Our LB core is as good as it gets with good depth, we have a top 5-10 CB duo with great depth. At safety, we just really need Mike Brown to stay healthy for once. If not, oh boy.
-
If our defense is indeed dominant (which I wouldn't be surprised at), and we once again have the best ST in the league, all we need is the offense to do is not to suck (and I think that's possible), and we would have a good shot at the playoffs. And once in the playoffs, anything can happen.

Bentley at 75 percent is leaps and bounds better than Metcalf at 100 percent... I really hope we sign him to a similar contract to Jones. He has a great chance to start here if he can still play.
-
the thing about Jones that I love is that he NEVER takes plays off. This guy has an incredible work ethic, and basically wants to be on the field for all of the 60 minutes in a football game. Hopefully he and Forte form a very good duo, and if so, I'd hope we try and extend him.

Keeping 4 backs in no big deal. Last year we had 2 FB and 3 RB's. Instead of having 2 FB's this year, we can just have 1 with 4 RB's. Last year we had 8 LB's, and that was much more crazy than having 4 running backs. Lets break it down: QB - 3 RB - 4 FB - 1 WR - 6 TE - 3 OL - 8 OFFENSE - 25 DE - 4 DT - 5 LB - 6 CB - 5 S - 5 DEFENSE - 25 K - 1 p - 1 LS - 1 SPECIAL TEAMS - 3 TOTAL - 53 So, as you see, it's no big deal.
-
Love it. Him and Forte can make a very good duo, IMO. Lets hope he can get healthy and start really producing sooner rather than later. I can cross Jones off my want list now. All that is left on my list before training camp are Bentley and Leftwich. Oh yeah, and to get Williams signed!

He's so stupid. He should have just stayed with the Packers. Because he retired, the Packers in the offseason were preparing to add more QB Depth and such, that's why they drafted Brohm in the 2nd round. If Farve stayed, the Packers could have focused on drafting more weapons to help them. If Farve stayed, I think they'd easily be the favorites to win the North and NFC. However, the Packers are now a mess with a bunch of controversy, and have a QB who will be eaten alive if he doesn't have a pro-bowl season. So far this has been great for Bear fans!!!

If we could get a 5th round pick, I'd be happy. If we can get a 4th round pick, I'd be ecstatic. If we can get a 3rd round pick, I'd create a shrine in my basement honoring the great Jerry Angelo.

Wow, talk about overrating a good but not great nickle back. Trumaine McBride preformed better than him last year, and in the cover 2, CB is arguably the easiest spot to turn average players into above average players. Between Tillman, Vasher, D. Manning, McBride, Graham, and Bowman, there really is no need for RMJ (whose best role would be in a man system anyway).

It looks like if Jones passes his physical with the Bears today, he will undoubtedly be a BEAR!!! Per Rotoworld:
-
He's likely signing for the minimum, so Pitt sees no problem with bringing in added depth and competition at such an important spot for cheap.
-
I hope we sign Jones and Bentley, but no to Henry and Culpepper. And Farve is just wishful thinking, there is no way the Pack is going to grant him his release and risk him signing within the NFC North. As of now, it looks like Jones could be signed as soon as tonight. So, getting him would be a great move. To go along with signing highly talented players coming off of injury, we'd be smart to go after Bentley. Like with Jones, Bentley would have a good chance to play if he signed with us as opposed to elsewhere. With both of these guys, we'd have very little to lose, but a ton to gain. As for as 3rd string QB, Leftwich has reportedly lost 20-25 pounds, and the Bears have been linked to him. He is another guy that can be brought in cheap and compete in camp with Grossman and Orton. There is nothing wrong with competition, and if Grossman and Orton fail, at least we wouldn't have to completely throw in the towel and have a UDFA start after them.
