  1. The Bears will carry 6 WR's, 3 TE's, 3 QB's, 8 OLinemen, and 5 backfield options, just like last year. That makes for 25 players on offense, leaving space for 25 players on D, and 3 ST'ers. I am almost positive we will carry 4 RB's and 1 FB. There is absolutely no need for 2 FB's, especially when Forte could step in at FB if injury occurs.
  2. If Monk doesn't beat out all of Lloyd (Lloyd has basically no chance to make the team because of his refusal to play ST), Rideau, Hass, and any UDFA's brought it, then Monk will likely get the redshirt IR treatment... I think he has a good shot at making the team actually.
  3. Because he has first round talent and the risk was worth taking in the 5th freaking round.
  4. It amazes me that people actually get upset about picks from the 5th round and later...
  5. He needs to develop his blocking, but from all accounts, he has the potential to be a solid blocker.
  6. I would have preferred Albert over Williams as well, but you can't fault the team in picking him. You could have gone either way. people are severely underrating the role John Gilmore played on this team, and a TE like him was needed. Also, while at first I did not like the Bowman pick, I cannot help but to like it now. That pick has steal written all over it. Plus, complaining about picks made past the 4th round is really goofy. Once you get down to the 5th, 6th, 7th round range, the success rate is not that great. In that range you start looking for steals and add depth. I would have liked Schuening however.

    Bennett

Bennett's future role is to replace Booker. Right now, I'd compare Bennett to Steve Smith of the Giants. Someone who can come in right away and make some contributions, but still has time to progress his game.
  8. I'm actually starting to really like the Bowman pick. Here is a scouting report by Scott Wright about him: Looks like if he wasn't plagued with injuries, he had the chance to be one hell of a player. I am really liking this pick right now.
  9. well, all of a sudden everyone here are scouts and know more then the Bears FO.
  10. please move this to the idiot overreaction thread
  11. hell, this Baldwin guy doesn't sound to bad either... http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...7/80413047/1048
  12. neither was John Gilmore, yet he contributed a whole lot more then most 3rd string QB's. All you like to do is bitch, and it's getting really freakin old.
  13. I just find it comical that people are actually complaining about a 7th round draft pick.
  14. I guarantee that the TE we drafted is going to contribute more in one year then any QB we could have drafted instead of him would produce in 3 years.
  15. yeah, we were counting on that 7th round draft pick to start for us...
  16. why don't you go and bash the Forte pick some more because you never heard of him before.
  17. freak man, Colt Brennan is gone. He was gonna be our QB of the futurue! Yeah man, is Jerry Angelo stupid or something&^$&*#@^!
  18. Oh, and to all those people crying about passing up on Dixon, Johnson, etc... who gives a shit. At this point in the draft, any QB you take is a project and is likely not going to do much.
  19. We needed a third TE. I don't see why anyone is complaining. It's not like we took him in the 3rd. The pick that should piss most everyone off is Bowman. We already have 5 good guys at the position. I really don't like the Steltz pick either due to the fact he is pretty much a less athletic, but younger, version of Archuletta.
  20. can we merge all these idiot threads of people complaining about picks because they never heard of the guy into just one mega idiot thread?
  21. I wouldn't mind Woodson, upside is there with him. Other possibilities are Paul Smith from Tulsa and Colt Brennan.
  22. I know about you guys, but I'm more upset about the CB pick Bowman. Seriously do we need 28 corners?
  23. McFadden is a saint compared to Manningham... Manningham is scum, and I could see him getting into a ton of trouble in the NFL.
  24. I actually only get 3 right... so flea and I are tied.
  25. Manningham is a waste of talent. I wouldn't touch a slime-ball like him with a 10-foot pole. Doucet and Bennett are both good receivers a la Steve Smith of the Giants, but I don't think either can make a big impact. I feel someone like Dre Moore makes a bigger impact. WR is one of those positions you need time to develop at.
