my favorite thing about Forte is his explosion to the hole.
-
WR is definitely a need, but outside of really the top couple guys in this draft, none of them can really make an impact, IMO. Yeah, you have your Colston's, but that is something you can't count on. For WR, I think we should just bring in some late rounder and/or UDFA's to compete with Haas, Riddeau, and Lloyd. Lets be honest here, the only WR's that are going to produce (or have the chance) for us are Hester, Bradley, Booker, and Davis, along with Clark and Olsen. The rest are for depth purposes.

Think of it this way, if Forte pans out, and Benson finally produces, we are much better off and can have a very good running game once again.

I would have personally drafted Albert over Williams, but I can understand going with Williams over Albert. At first I was kind of upset, but then again, JA and all the scouts the Bears have know a lot more then me. I think it came down to the fact that Williams has played LT his whole college career and is very smart. If he can get some nasty in him, he can be a hell of a player probably. He was already probably the best pass blocker (outside of Long) in the whole draft, now we just have to teach him to run block.

I'd be shocked if we didn't draft at least 2 more offensive linemen.

drafting a QB in the third would be pretty much drafting a guy for the sake of doing so. Johnson, maybe, but I am not very high on him like others. Rumor has been that our secondary choices at QB were Paul Smith and Colt Brennan. I wouldn't mind either of them in the 5th or 6th. One guy however that has intrigued me a lot has been Kevin O'Connel from SDSU. I'd take him in the 4th. As far as the 3rd round goes, we need an OG. My personal favorites have been Schuening and Kerry Brown. I probably prefer Kerry Brown due to the upside he has and he could be a dominate LG. He would probably still be there with our 2nd third rounder. For our 1st third rounder, I'd go with Dre Moore, if he's there, to help solidify the DLine. WR, maybe, but I just don't see how any of the guys available could really contribute. Yeah, I'd go with Moore and Brown in the 3rd, with O'Connell in the 4th.

I gotta give Scott Wright and nfldraftcountdown credit for his prediction of Duane Brown going in the 1st. I doubt there was another draft expert around with Brown going in the 1st. Obviously we would have prefered Flacco, but he wasn't there. Unless people here wanted Henne, RB was the next big need, and Forte was a perfect fit for what we needed. The only guy I would have taken over Forte would have been Trevor Laws.
-
Because he also excels at blocking, he can probably play a little FB, making it that much nicer that we drafted him. We now can carry 4 RB's with only 1 FB because we know if McKie gets injured, we can put Forte in there.
-
I lost. I don't think I got more then 5 or 6.
-
The only people who don't like the Forte pick are people who've never watched him before, and because he doesn't go to some elite school and isn't talked about on ESPN 5 minutes. Forte was an excellent choice. Stop being stupid. Just because you've never heard of him means he sucks. Get a grip.

I hope you don't mind, but I made some late revisions and sent in a new one. Please ignore the one I sent in earlier. I also completely understand if you do not accept the revised version and stick to first one I sent in.

another on of my usual brain farts... I meant Albert and Clady.
-
I'd have no problem with that.
-
I'll be playing baseball, so have fun without me...
-
If both Clady and Albert are gone, I could see Williams being the pick... but he better not be the pick ahead of either Clady or Williams.

Yes boys and girls, another year has passed and once again, it's time for the NFL Draft. This thread can be used to post which team picks who, talk about trades, etc. Please, do not start a new thread for every bit of news, just put it in here! Unfortunately I have baseball practice at 4, and won't get back until 9 tonight. So, I will not be able to enjoy the draft live, or discuss it with you guys. However, I will be back on tonight to provide my thoughts! Go Bears!
-
I have been talking about this for the past couple of days. If it ensures we can get either on of Albert or Clady before the Broncos and Panthers are up, it'd be worth it.
-
sending it now... I'm not to proud of this mock draft, as I had some guys falling who probably shouldn't have.
-
well, Brohm was measured to actually have the 2nd most velocity on his throws at the combine... Flacco was no. 1.
-
I think he is similar to Thomas Jones. Jacked out of his mind, but more of a speedy and shifty runner who can give a hit when he needs to.
-
The only way Baker starts at LT in the pros is if he's in a ZBS. While our OLine is a slight variation of the ZBS, Baker is not physical enough to handle LT for us. He'd be a G in our system. Plus, he isn't very powerful, isn't a good run blocker, and is as overhyped as they come.
-
so? he has somewhat long hair. When I saw you say you hope he gets 100 catches, I thought you I was going to see a picture of him with 100 shaved into his head. However, I hope he has 100 catches as well.
-
I'd say it's pretty high considering we have no QB of the future. We aren't going to draft OG 27 overall, let along 44 overall. WR, maybe, but I doubt it since we already have 5 spots locked up pretty much, with other interesting guys. And I doubt RB that high as well.
-
what don't you understand... Great Oline's turn mediocre players (QB's and RB's) into good-great players. Great players turn shitty OLine's into nothing, as the great players can't do shit if they get no blocking. The OLine is where it all happens.
