Found this doing my usual rumor check... http://boards.chicagobears.com/forums/thread/979785.aspx
Not from pick 14, but to pick 27 with the Chargers. Obviously we would not trade down with them due to the fact the Chargers only have one pick in the first 3 rounds.
Any trade would either be our 44th pick and first 3rd rounder; or 44, our second 3rd rounder, and another little something, perhaps a future pick.
I'll go with Gholston. The Chiefs are high on Croyle, so no to Ryan. And they apparently really like Otah, but he'd likely be around at 17. CB is an option, and their preference is still probably to trade down, but Gholston would be a good fit for their Cover 2 D.
I'm sorry, but he is a fool. I can't stand him. I can say something 1 minute, and if I hear him say the same thing, I usually have a reversal in my opinion.
If both Clady and Albert are gone by 14, I honestly have no problem with Mendenhall... but then we have to move up back into the first (probably Steelers spot), and grab one of Otah or Cherilus (one of them should still be there).
My guess on the 10 "special" players are Ryan, McFadden, Dorsey, Long, Long, Gholston, Albert, Ellis, Clady, and Mendenhall. Other possibilities are Harvey, Williams, and perhaps McKelvin or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Why would we draft a 3-4 NT in Rubin?
Besides the 1st rounder, that would be a pretty terrible draft... Johnson and Caldwell are decent picks, but other then that, McShay is still an idiot.
EDIT: and Chad Rinehart would be a nice steal in the 5th, even though he'll probably be gone before then.
useless signing. 3 years, 5.5 million for him? You gotta be kidding me. This guy is a below average to average receiver, and a decent return guy. We can get a guy at half the price. I like him, but this is a stupid way to spend the money.
1st and both 3rd rounders....
Damn, once you think the Vikings front 7 can't get any better, they do this.
On the bright side, perhaps this leads to KC passing on Albert, and leading to the trio of Albert, Williams, and Clady all being there at no. 12. Hell, I'm not so sure Denver will take a tackle, and we could possibly get one of Albert or Clady at 14, depending on who Carolina picks!
Vernon Gholston. I doubt they go with McFadden mainly because their need at the DLine and a for an elite pass rusher is much greater then their need at RB. And they signed Fargas, and still have Jordan, Rhodes, and Bush all still on the roster.
Plus, Vernon Gholston is a physical freak, which Al Davis likes.
I say you change the default, because while you can manually change it, new members and not all posters will know about that option to increase it.
Plus, with the draft this weekend, we are bound to have new thread after new thread.
Dorsey by far... now the rumor on the street is that the Rams are looking to trade down with the Jets because they want Ryan. If the Rams cannot trade down, they are said to be focusing their attention on Dorsey.
These rumors change everyday...
