I'd give up our 1st... but it ain't gonna happen.
-
My guesses are: Prospect A - Matt Ryan... his only real plus tool is his intangables and leadership ability. Prospect B - Brian Brohm... As I recall he has had some injury problems in the past, and the positives match him pretty good. Prospect C - Andre Woodson... okay, I cheated on this one. It stumped me at first because it completely forgot to mention his sloooooow release. Prospect D - Joe Flacco... Gotta be him. He played in the shotgun and he has great size and the arm to match it. Prospect E - Colt Brennan... This one was a bit more difficult. At first I thought Josh Johnson, but I felt the description fit Brennan better. Surprised to see Henne not mentioned.

So the system DOES work!

It's about time someone took action though. I am getting sick and tired of seeing 12 different threads about the same topic posted in the Bears section, and another thread that has nothing to do with the Bears posted in there as well. Scott has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Bears. He plays RG, we have our RG already. The two names were never linked, and quite frankly, if we signed Scott it would be a huge waste of money. Everyone knows he is just a product of the system.

Can Simms even still play football? He is so fragile and clearly not the future in Tampa. And Gradowski is garbage. I think pretty much it will be a competition for the backup job between Griese, Simms (wouldn't be surprised if he winds up on IR again), and McCown and the loser(s) get cut. They really do need a guy for the future though.

no, I haven't really seen the two names linked, but Flacco could be used as the smokescreen for Brohm. Brohm has a really good shot at the 1st round but if Flacco does jump ahead, Brohm could fall to the 2nd. I highly doubt he falls out of the 3rd though. Also, I should point it out, Brohm is my favorite QB from this class, even though Flacco is making a strong push

I could see Brennan going to the Buccs in the 3rd or 4th, and that would be a real good situation for him.

The more I am looking at it the more I think JA and the Bears intentions are to draft one of Flacco or Brohm in either one of the first 2 rounds (value of Brohm and Flacco seem to shift everyday so we'll see come draft time if they will be 1st or 2nd round selections), and then it will be either Rex's or Kyle's job to keep the seat warm for half the season or so and then hand the ball off to whoever they drafted. I could see us doing something similar to what the Broncos did with Cutler back in 06.

Wesson, do have a source for this or are you just purely speculating? I'd put my money on the later... As for who I think will be the opening day LG... it really looks like it's gonna be St. Clair (unless we sign a RT like Mo Williams or Max Starks and draft either Brandon Albert or Chris Williams). And I wouldn't hate St. Clair being our starting LG. I've always liked him as a player, and in the final however many games he started last season, St. Clair played really well at LG. We could then add depth there by drafting someone like Drew Radovich in the middle rounds.
-
I got no problem with him making the minimum with good special teams play and being a backup. Hell, I wouldn't mind him in there on goalline plays either. Just as long as he doesn't have to cover anyone.
-
well, GM's and other football related people are actually working on a new updated trade value chart, or so I've heard, and pretty much the only big change will be the value of top picks dropping due to the amount of money they get.
-
It's one thing to question the direction the team is going in... it's another thing when people make pointless threads about a topic, which we already have threads about, and say they are going to leave.
-
rumor is the Bears like Chris Williams above Clady and if he is there at 14, he will be the pick.
-
I think the mods really need to start cracking down on useless threads like this.
-
good pickup by Seattle... I wonder if they are gonna keep Morris still now though. We can officially eliminate RB as a draft area for them.
-
first thing first, if you have a great OLine you can put any mediocre piece of crap back there and have a good season. Grant wasn't all that good. He has pretty good speed and good vision, but nothing else really. However, the Packers ZBS was perfect for him. 2nd off, I'd compare the Running backs by which round they'd be available in. As for round 1, don't buy into the crap Mayock or however is feeding us, McFadden will be long gone by 14 and be a top 10 pick. However, Mendenhall would be a more logical choice above Stewart in the first. My personal choice would be to address other needs in round 1 and 2, and go after either Ray Rice, Tashard Choice, or Jamaal Charles (really doubt he'd be there) in the 3rd.
-
I actually would be surprised if he made the team. Lloyd is pretty much garbage.

I personally wouldn't mind it, as this QB carousel has gotten old and it's about time we got someone to fix it. Grossman and Orton are not answers and will never be anything more then stop gaps/good backups. I really don't see us being big time competitors again next season, so a QB wouldn't be that bad in the 1st. Plus, JA knows a lot more then any one of us, and I'll trust him. I might not have agreed with every move of his, but he's proven me wrong a countless number of times. So, if the pick is QB or OL or S or whatever, I might not like it, but I'd give JA the benefit of the doubt.

If he really wanted to get a slight chance of playing, New York is where he should have signed.
-
does anyone else not give a shit?

McCarrins was a High School teammate with Chris Brown as well...

Who is your BEARS sleeper/suprise contributors for 2008?

Bradly and St. Clair are the two most obvious suggestions, IMO. -
6 years, 55 million!?!?!?! And people thought Berrian got too much.
-
The world might explode now that Ogunleye and Booker are both on the same team.

Good signing. Our receiving corps are still a mess however. We should still pursue D.J. Hackett.
