The thing I hate now is that that there isn't a good way of separating the values of picks. Before you have 1st day picks which were rounds 1-3 and 2nd day picks which were rounds 4-7. It was a good way to tell how good of a prospect was. Now, a 2nd day pick, usually considered lesser picks (and rightfully so) include the 3rd round.

We'd save $613,333 by cutting Archuletta (according to LT2_3)... that amount warrants a cutting.
-
If it were up to me, I'd have the 1st round on friday night starting at 7 or 8 eastern with either 10 or 15 minutes in between selections. Then I'd have rounds 2-4 on saturady lasting from 2 to whatever. And then have rounds 5-7 on sunday from 12 to whatever.

I love the draft and I think it is so much more exciting and fun.
-
don't forget that Tait would go back to his original position of RT and be able to play at a higher level. Then, we bring in someone to compete with Garza and backup the guards, and we are talking about a complete 180 from last year.
-
I don't know what chart you've been using, but below is the correct one... http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/features/valuechart.html

Greg Jones got 5 years 18 million... wow.
-
Why would we trade our 1st rounder AND 5th rounder for only a 2nd and 3rd? That makes no freakin sense, that is terrible value.
-
Whale is so overrated, he would be no better then Ruben.
-
He has probably 3 pro-bowl caliber seasons left in him and around 3 old but still decent/good seasons in him. Ideally, we could get him to a 5 year deal that is back loaded.
-
I've been thinking about it, I'd gladly take Booker over Moose at this point.
-
Tait played up to a pro bowl caliber in the 2006 season. 2007, not so much.
-
Miller and Walker can think whatever they want... Miller should be cut ASAP, but I could live with Walker if we restructure his deal.
-
Davis never played LT for the Cards and was their RT. And when the Cowboys signed him, they signed him as a RG. In fact, he made the pro-bowl and was actually very good.
-
Well, IMO, it would be best to sign someone like Max Starks to be our RT for the next 7 years (at least), as he would be as good or probably even better then Tait at RT for a longer period of time. Tait only has 2 or 3 years left on his contract, and at the worst, will be a quality starter at LT. After all, he played up to a pro bowl level last year, and outside of about a 3-4 game stretch (when he did have some injury issues), he wasn't that bad. Then we could draft a guy to develop at LT either in the middle rounds or early next year. Also, I'd resign Brown to a cheap deal. He still can be a quality player and was injured last year. By all sounds of it, he wants to return, and if healthty, he is still decent. The I'd draft an OG in round 2 or 3 to compete with Garza and be insurance for Brown (along with St. Clair who turned out to be alright at LG).
-
I like Marty like everyone else, but he isn't going to be a major upgrade over Moose. At best, it would be a slight, very slight, upgrade, and I have my doubts about that.
-
there is not that big of a difference between Moose and Booker that warrants the cap difference.
-
Brohm for sure. If he's there at 14 we'd be stupid not to draft him (unless we somehow get McNabb. I'd avoid Ryan as he is an overrated piece of crap. And Woodson and Henne, no. I'd choice Flacco before I would choice any other QB in this draft besides Brohm. It would be right now a reach at 14 for Flacco, but come combine time, it might not be so much of a reach.
-
Wahle is overrated and he was terrible for the Panthers this past year.
-
Did I ever say anything about trading down? All I said was that if a team really wanted him and didn't want to risk waiting until second round to nab him, late 1st would be the ideal spot to draft him. That could very well mean a trade up, or perhaps a trade of a player. Plus, it was you who said: Like you said, anything fans come up with is pure speculation. Only the org. knows who will likely be drafted, and hell, no one in the Bears FO know who they will draft yet either.
-
yeah, but Moose had Smith opposite of him...
-
If we want Flacco, late 1st round would be the place to go after him if we really wanted him for sure. He could be there in the 2nd, but that could be risky.

Brohm is the no. 1 QB by far, IMO. But Ryan is no. 2 easily.
