My dream "first day"...trade down for a 1st and 2nd in the 20's... 1-23?) Chris Williams, OT - Vanderbilt -Future LT and starts right away 2-13) Joe Flacco, QB - Delaware -Future QB and learns for a year or two 2-23?) Roy Schuening, OG - Oregon St. -Future G who comes in right away and competes (similar player to Logan Mankins) 3-12) Tavares Gooden, LB - Miami -With Briggs likely leaving, and Urlacher's health in question, he adds some depth and contributes on ST before eventually taking over for someone in a few years 3-27) Jonathan Hefney, DB - Tennessee -Adds depth, can play FS or CB. Could allow us to keep only 9 DB's instead 10 (9 DL, 7 LB)

Wolfe is a RB/WR and return man. He is more of a WR then he is a RB though.

Anyone else miss this time about 1 year ago? The good ole times.

Hey Terra, I'm only gonna tell you this once, and if you don't get it, it's hopeless. The most import position in all of football is the OLine. Think about it, you CANNOT do anything without an offensive line. With no offensive line how is anything supposed to happen? OLine make things happen. And while yes, there has been some busts on the OLine, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be taken early. OLinemen, believe it or not, do have talent. I think it takes some talent to be 300+ lbs and have the type of quickness and athleticism some of these OLinemen have. Just look at the Browns, they went from garbage to one of the better teams in the league due to the complete overhaul of their line. By the way, Gallery and D'Brick might not be the elite prospects we thought they were when they first got drafted, but Gallery, while is a bust, has turned into a solid linemen. And D'Brick isn't a bust, he is still one of the better LT in the NFL. Just because he isn't elite doesn't make him a bust. I'd gladly have him as our LT. One guy doesn't make an OLine.
-
Yeah, OLinemen have no talent... The offense NEVER relies on the OLine. What do they do? Block? Who needs blocking? Let the RB and QB take on the whole defense by themselves.
-
usually takes place at the combine.
-
Weaver is a beast and is a RFA... I'd love to sign him if he doesn't get a high tender from Seattle... just throwing this out there
-
well, they want a competitive game... divisional games are usually highly competitive. So, Bears vs. Vikings?
-
with the way JA value draft picks, highly unlikely... and I would be strongly against it anyway. And Berrian has the vale of a mid-high second rounder at best, IMO... If a team is willing to sign him to a contract and give us a high 2nd rounder for him, good bye.
-
You don't need a scout to see that Bently (was), Steinbach, and Thomas are all top players at their position, you need a GM who is willing to put absurd amounts of money into the OLine.
-
Bently hasn't even played one regular season game for them and he probably will never be at the same level he was at before they signed him though...
-
I think you are being overly optimistic with Jones and Hardy being available in those spots.
-
Dunn is just what his name says and Norwood is far from a feature back. Plus, they have the 4th overall pick and there is no QB worth that pick. Plus, Ryan has said he will not play for Atlanta so I think we can rule him out.
-
interceptions are probably one of the worst stats to use when evaluating players.
-
true, but Johnson is not nearly the type of head case Owens is... also, this might be a bad idea anyway since we would have no one to throw to him most likely...
-
yeah, but he is still better then Cromartie.
-
Mike Mayock is a tool.
-
I know Cromartie is an athete, he has great size and speed. But he has only started 1 game in his college career and is still at least 1 year away, but more likely 2-3 years from actually becoming a good cover corner, if ever. Being a good corner is more then just being a good athlete. Oh, and Deangelo Hall is still one of the top 5 CB's in the league, even if he is a headcase.
-
Charles Tillman, Al Harris, Charles Woodson, Asante Samuel, Nnamdi Asomugha, DeAngelo Hall, Ronde Barber, Marcus Trufant, Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard, Quentin Jammer, Deshea Townsend, and there are plenty more. And that's not even naming the injured players who are better cornerbacks to begin with. Sure Cromartie made a lot of picks, but he is far from a top corner back in the league. He still needs a lot of work on how to actually play corner. This is a guy who only started 1 game in his whole college career.
-
it'll take a lot more then that to get 85... maybe something like our 3rd, next years 1st, and a something else?
-
I always thought we were premature in releasing Columbo... boy, would he look good as our RT for now and many more years.
-
yeah, that was bad wording... but seriously, Brown, Payton, and Sanders >>> Sayers
-
Who cares if they went to the same college. It's a matter of getting the best prospect. Just like JA shouldn't shy away from drafting BC linemen because of the Marc Colombu disaster.
-
Because when you think of great running backs, he should be one of the first 3 names you think of when talking about great running backs. Brown, Payton, or Sanders are by far the 3 best running backs to ever play the game and Sayers was no Jim Brown, Walter Payton, or Barry Sanders.
