Well, I think it would still be a good idea. I watch college football and am a big draft guy, I'd put those subforums to work.

When will people realize Berrian is our best offensive weapon? He has been having different QB's throw to him all season, no running game, and no opposite receiver, and he still is able to rack up close or possibly even surpass 1,000 yards. I really don't care if he signs FHOF under all of his autographs... believe it or not, a lot of people in the NFL think highly of themselves and have goals. If anything, it makes him better wanting to become a FHOF.

They do/did, but none of them can actually take over for them after Garcia leaves/retires.

I don't know I put Brown, I mean Manning Jr.
-
cutting both Brown and Archuletta would save us about 4 million, but a lot in the long run with Manning Jr. as his salary escalates past 4 million in 09 and '10.

Will people please stop with Colt Brennan? God, it pisses me off that people think he might even be remotely a good fit. The only way we draft Brennan is if we get an OC who impliments to WCO, as I am almost positive that a WCO team will take him. I see him going to Tampa in the 2nd. 2nd, 9 million for Faneca? I'll pass. I'd rather spend that money to resign Briggs and Berrian.
-
Beekman obviously sucks since Anthony freaking Oakley is active while Beekman isn't. That says a lot to me about how Beekman has played in practice. And if we got Faneca, which I doubt-have you seen how much money decent OL have been making in FA?, he would play LG. No way would you pay kazillions of dollars for a RG.

Hopefully Bears Related - Joe Flacco - Fri - ESPN2
BearSox replied to Clenched_CLAW's topic in Bearstalk
he's probably the 4th best QB in the draft and I'd love to get him with our 2nd round selection. I have been calling for him for a while, and he is similar to Rothlesberger, except he has a stronger arm but less mobility. And Flacco is listed at 237 I believe. -
If we get Bob Sanders, which would never happen in a million years as there is no way the Colts let their 2nd best defensive player get away, Mike Brown wouldn't be brought back.
-
eww... It's most likely Trumaine, all signs point to him... He must like the thick white chicks.

whats the deal with Nfo?

I thought I'd start up the suggestion box cause there are a couple ideas I have lobbying for, and what a better time to bring them back up when the board is expanding? Here is my quote I made in a different thread earlier...

please stay away from any Indy OLinemen, they are just products of a really good system.
-
just IR Vasher and Urlacher...

I'm one of the talkbear'ers, and I'm awesome But, what I add to these forums are good draft/college football insight (at least I think), and strong Bear Pride! However, I'm still young (17) and still have a lot to learn.

Terrible, terrible idea.

We really don't have a choice with Berrian. He must be brought back. People need to realize, he is our best offensive weapon, even if he isn't anything more then a no. 2 He is our no. 1 receiver. Just think about it, look how bad our receivers would be without him.
-
Frank Okam wouldn't be that bad of a pick. He's a good fit for NT in the 4-3 and can cause some pressure... I personally like my idea of signin Corey Williams however.
-
Mendenhall is gonna be a top 15 pick if he declares.
-
not really, when you consider how much he will make if he hits the market. Franchising Berrian would be common sense. No way is worth a 5 year 35 million deal, which I believe he could get.
-
well, hopefully Kennedy can do some good stuff for us and be brought back next season to compete in camp. It'd help us with the offseason.

I've been thinking about seeing RMJ cut, but he will cutting him now really won't save us much more then a mil or so. I think it's best to keep him, and then cut him before the 09 season (he is slated to go from 1.8 to 4.7 in 09). Miller getting cut saves us about 4 million, Arch about 1-2, restructuring Brown about 1 million, and a couple other cuts, Walker wouldn't lose or gain us money, but with a few other cuts (perhaps Moose? That'd save about 2 mil), we can jump from 20 million in cap space to 30 million. I see Briggs and Ayanbadejo being resigned and Brown's contract restructured, and Berrian franchised. With the extra cap space we could save from cutting players, we can afford to perhaps overpay Berrian for a season but it would be worth it as we don't have to commit long term. Ruben Brown can comeback if he wants to for about 2 million. So, if the above happens, we would have enough to work out an extension for Harris.

what a horrible bears pick, and that is a pretty bad mock anyway. No way Slaton goes first round, let alone top 10, lol. And Ellis is probably gonna jump ahead of Dorsey.

Nice to have a numbers whiz! I am not an original soxtalk'er, but I believe it was originally just Soxtalk with people to talk White Sox baseball, and then around 1-2 years ago, or something like that, they expanded to make forums for most chicago sport teams. There aren't a whole lot of regulars from talkbears though, only about 10, maybe a couple more then that.

There are a couple options we have... 1. If Orton rocks, screw Grossman 2. If we draft a guy first day (but not first round), like Joe Flacco (me heart Flacco), then I think Griese is the guy to keep along with Orton due to Griese being a veteran and being able to teach the young QB more. 3. If we don't draft a guy first day, which would be most likely stupid, then yeah, bring back Grossman on the cheap.
