wow, people are making such a big deal about this signing. The guy was a UDFA who was pretty much cut twice. He is probably a decent fit for the cover 2 and there still needs to be bodies filled. He'll probably be cut and if anything put on the practice squad. If this guy was so good to warrant taking a spot from someone already on the team, why would the Bucs have cut him twice? They are in pretty bad shape right now at DT. Also, whoever said the team might cut Adams, that makes absolutely no sense. And Garay has been out the door since the drafting of Bazuin, Idonije probably being primarily a DT now, and trading for Walker. Garay might still be eligible for the PS and if he is, he will wind up there but some team would probably claim him. Garay's only shot at making the team is if someone like maybe Bazuin goes on the IR.

don't forget about the Rush!

NFL suspends Obafemi Ayanbadejo four games
BearSox replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in Soldier Field
stupid move by him... hopefully it was unintentional, the Ayanbadejo's, from what I can tell at least, don't seem to be that type. Pretty much the 4 game suspension is for being stupid. You should know which over the counter substances you can or cannot take. -
Lovie said he shouldn't miss significant time. He won't play in the preseason game obviously, but hopefully he will be back by seasons start. I think HH is a very underrated part to our D.
-
that's right, they were both on carolina prior to last year.
-
nice... A lot of trades this preseason compared to years past.
-
we should cheer him for showing up.
-
He was told not to show up tonight for the practice and he will be either traded or released. Not surprised, he really disappointed last year with poor special teams play, something he was brought in to do good at. Peggy Consinski (sp?) reported it on sports sunday.
-
Well, less then one week away people! Amazing that the season is only 5 weeks away!
-
yeah, we picked that up a while ago... welcome aboard!
-
hopefully... I really like him a lot as a receiver and would like to see him stay healthy. Also, anyone else notice that he has old man face disease, like Greg Oden...?
-
Also, the 5th round pick Graham can return kicks also.
-
well, I bet Harris is happy to get traded since now he will be given a chance to start in Carolina. Also, Brown will likely play FS this year and Arch will play SS. If Arch goes down, I think Brown would shift back to SS and Manning would go to FS. I think the Depth Chart will look something like SS: Archuletta | Brown | McGowan/Payne FS: Brown | Manning | probably Graham or McBride

We have a pretty good TE trio. Olsen is the big play threat, Clark is the savvy veteran, and Gilmore is the big blocker.
-
I doubt it, unless Leak really impresses the coaching staff.
-
firgured. So basically, we traded Chris Harris for Walker and to hopefully/probably move up in the 5th round a few slots.
-
Jerry Angelo was on the radio earlier today and said the Bears got a solid second day pick for Harris... but he declined to say which round.
-
Well, this likely means that both Archuletta and Brown have looked good in camp, as well as Payne and some of the other guys like McBride and McGowen. But then again from what I have heard, besides Griese and Bazuin, everyone has looked good in camp.
-
always liked him. Never flashy or the best guy out there, but he did his job. Basically, we probably just traded Harris for Walker. Wish him the best of luck.

A thought just came to my mind. With Hester getting an increased role on offense, and D. Manning getting what seems to be a decreased role on defense, I could see Manning getting some kick returns and punt returns to help keep Hester fresh, or rather not to banged up. Plus, I expect to see Rashied Davis get a couple kick returns here and there as well.
-
well, the Bears don't have many weaknesses, and I really love this D JA has assembled. I truly believe, baring injures of course, that this will be the best defense since the 85 season. Plus, if the offense can preform in the the at the very least the upper 10-15 teams and be consistent, watch out league. Oh my, imagine if the offense lives up to what is being said and is a top 5 offense to go along with what I believe is going to be the top D in the league... Also, I don't see Griese getting cut/traded this season unless Leak really impresses the crap out of the coaches and Orton keeps up his good work. In all likely hood if things went our way, and Grossman proves to be our franchise QB, he will be resigned and Orton will stay as the fulltime backup with Griese getting cut/traded in the offseason. And he is making a fairly decent amount, so the money saved from cutting/trading him would go to signing perhaps Grossman, Berrian, and of course extended Tommie.
-
well, I am not that big of a fan of the contract size, I can't complain. In all likely hood, he won't see all that money. He is what, 31? He will be 36 or so when that contract is over
-
oh thank god... finally! Great work once again guys! That old skin made me want to... well, you know the line.
-
I don't know about his ability to stop the run, but he sure knows how to get in the backfield and get to the QB.
-
love this move. It makes me feel a whole lot better about our DT situation. It was looking like Garay would be the 4th DT but with Walker, Garay will probably not even make the team.
