I would be surprised not to see Runells on the Bears practice squad come opening week, unless he catches on with another team to have a role on the 53.

Brown is/was faster and more of an upright change of pace runner. But because of his upright running style, he left himself exposed and that is where all the injuries occured. I really think Peterson is a better back. He can block better, and with all the injuries brown has had, he probably has a better speed-power combo. Plus, Lovie loves AP and has said as long as he is the coach, AP will have a spot on this team. And if Brown was brought in, that would have meant that Wolfe is doing bad in minicamp, but that doesn't sound right as the coaching staff loved Wolfe in rookie camp and pre-draft workouts. Now, some would say Brown would have been brought in to just fill up the preseason roster, but you don't bring in players who won't be cheap to be a place filler. You bring in some undrafted rookie or a young rb trying to find a job.

I don't think he can play in pre-season. I think he is BANNED from the NFL until after week 8 (or 6 if it gets shortened). Him being banned means he can't do any team activities or any sort like that. I am pretty sure Tank has to work out on his own and such, and hopefully when the ban is over he'd be in good shape. I am sure the Bears are going to send him a trainer and such though.

Stanton is also a very good scrambler. But I'm not even gonna check out this article as Peter King is an idiot.

Yes.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=roto...mp;type=fantasy Is Wolfe sucking? If so, a big waste of a first day pick. And I doubt they are replacing AP unless has absolutely sucked and came to camp out of shape or something like that, because Lovie and co. love AP.

Oba signed a 1 year contract today. And I also feel that way. Something about Brothers playing together even in High School up to Professionally is just exciting for some reason. I don't know why, I guess cause it gives you kinda a heart warming feeling. Also, it will be exciting to see both Ayanbadejo's being special team aces.

Maybe he was the badass of his block and all the inmates gave him their money and/or desert, or else they got a sock full of batteries.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=3511 (scroll down) I am a big fan of this move, and I hope Oba gets a contract.

When Culpepper is released should the Bears get him?
BearSox replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Soldier Field
No, it's just not doable. -
I don't know about scary, but at least better then bad.

I thought this was always pinned... But, it would be nice to see more introductions. Our last one was on January 22...

Hopefully whenever there is a 3rd and long, they will go into the shotgun formation. My third and long play would probably consist of something like... Peterson in the backfield, duel TE set with Olsen and Clark, and Moose and Berrian at receivers. I'd have Clark on Grossman's blindside blocking. Peterson would be to the right of Grossman. I'd have Olsen on the right doing a chuck block but then moving up the middle of the field for a pass. Mosse would run a hitch, and I'd have Berrian on a fly. Peterson's first priority would be to block any free defenders coming, but if there is none, go out for a swing. Thoughts?

I agree with the length, but what I don't agree about is how he can't work out or practice with the team. But it will likely be reduced to 6 if Tank really means that he has become a "new man." So, if it is reduced to 6, we would probably see him return about week 8 or 9 because it would take him some time to get adjusted, and into shape. Also, this could be a great thing for us. Tank always seems to have a great first half or so of the season, and then he just fizzles off as the season goes. This way, we could have a fresh and very productive Tank Johnson for the more important later part of the season and hopefully playoffs.

JA doing what JA does.

Was he allowed to take his wallet with him in to prison?

I saw this on youtube, and it looked pretty cool... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh0S4A4GuHw...ted&search= (part 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xJKLP6z3iM...ted&search= (part 2)

Olsen a C+ is laughable... He was projected to go top 20, and there really wasn't anyone better available.

Speaking of the Supp. Draft, rumors are flying that Jared Gaither the OT for Maryland will be entering it due to academic problems also. Now Gaither is one huge man and has a lot of upside, but is very raw to say the least. Looks like if he does go he will likely be a 4th-5th rounder, with 3rd being the absolute highest. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bears get him with their 4th as we do need depth at tackle.
-
If McNabb's contract could be re-worked to make him more cap friendly, yeah, I'd do it.
-
Yeah, I know what you mean. Here is how the Supp. Draft works, for those of you who don't know how it works... per Wikipedia.

Paul Oliver, CB from Georgia, widely considered a top 10 player next year, and the census top CB of the 2008 draft will enter the Supplemental Draft this July. Due to academic reasons, he is inelligible to play. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2873910 Now, I wouldn't mind bidding a 3rd rounder for this guy. He is 1st round talent, a lot like Ahmad Brooks last year. But instead of character concerns, he has Intelligence concerns. I for one wanted Brooks last year, as I didn't think his character concerns were that big of deal. He had an unreal sophomore year, and has great size. We could have gotten him for our third rounder, and he would be starting at SAM for us. He was compared to Brian Urlacher as well in college. With both Vasher and Tillman being free agents next year, adding more CB depth wouldn't be a bad idea. We have an extra third rounder for the 08 draft, so we could bid that pick for Oliver, but I don't think that would be a good enough bid. I would actually maybe bid our second round pick on him. But the thing is, he is more of a man-to-man corner. But with his intelligence issues, a the simple-ness of the cover 2 scheme could fit him well. And if we did get him, that would mean the end of Vasher because they are similar CB's. Thoughts?
-
At least he is going by it in a professional manner, unlike someone else on the bears who wants a trade also.
-
I bet we could get a 3rd rounder. Good DE's with good contracts aren't easy to come by, although he will probably want a new contract anyway. Plus he probably knows that Mark Anderson will beat him out for the job. I am just really sadden by this, because I have always liked Alex Brown. But IIRC, he was said to have some work ethic concerns coming out of college, and this could be the case right here. He doesn't want to work to stay the starter, so he demands a trade. Typical.

Well, I like Payne, but I am still pissed about the team passing on John Wendling for him. But, standard JA procedure going on with the early signings...
