  1. JA and the Bears are always the quickest to sign their draft picks. Last year we were the quickest to have all the draft picks signed as well.
  2. Hester was f-ed up position wise at Miami. I bet if they left him at CB, he could have become a pretty good one. Right now, he seems to me like he will just basically be a situational guy on offense, never anything special, but making plays when he has the ball. But, this also means he will get a nice break between kickoff/punt returns since he won't be on defense anymore.
  3. Tank was wearing a Yankees cap!!!
  4. Been two months already? Time really flies... Good news, and I hope he only gets 8 tops.
  5. Im starting to warm up to the local kid. Him and Benson could make a pretty good combo, with AP mixed in there.
  6. No, there will be a shotgun formation added and used. And it would be a very wise move.
  7. It probably would have been better to keep him until PS or something, to see what he can do, but who cares anyway. The odds of him impressing enough were slim, and like others have said, this means a couple guys probably impressed in camp.
  8. Oh well, I hardly can give 2 shits anymore if he does or doesn't play.
  9. They also drafted Garrett Mills in the fourth round last year (106 overall), but he is more of an H-Back. They really didn't need another TE. And they already probably knew they were going to trade for Moss anyway. So offensive targets was not a need at all for the Pats.
  10. Olsen should get plenty of playing time. Dez will start off as the starter probably because of his blocking, but I think Olsen will make good improvement blocking-wise, and take over as the starter in the first half of the season. Also, we should have a lot of 2 TE sets, and we could even line up Olsen in the slot like Indy does with Clark. Also, I like Payne and all, and I have no problem where he was drafted. He was slated to go around rounds 5-6. But I am just upset about the team passing up Wendling. I don't think Payne has any starting potential. I see him a lot like Todd Johnson. But Wendling has a ton of starting potential, IMO. He is the same size, but faster and has more explosion. With some work, he could have turned into a huge steal. But oh well, I am sure JA will prove me wrong once again.
  11. Like I said, Leak will be the practie squad QB unless someone else signs him. ANd maybe eventually in a year or two, he'll make the team.
  12. Unless Leak has an insanely good camp and such, and Orton does piss-poor, Orton aint going anywhere. You don't get rid of a player with Orton's tools with 2 years of experience and a full year of starting for a developmental guy like Leak. Leak will be the PS QB.
  13. exactly what I voted for. I think he will be used mainly as a receiver more then anything. They will work on his blocking a bit, but he would be thrust into it.
  14. it all depends on his progression as a decision maker and how much he improves on his mechanics. And of course the x-factor, can he stay healthy. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a Grossman fan, but for the Bear's sake, I want him to do good. I like the fact they will run more Shot Gun this year, and Grossman has some good weapons around him. Best case scenario right now would be that he throws for about 3000 yards, and get 24 TD's, with a passer rating of about 85. But most importantly, that he becomes consistent. Most forget that if the Bears had a good consistant QB last year that there was a good chance they would have been undefeated last year.
  15. disappointing. I think Idonije is going to bulk up a bit more to be more of a 3-tech, and then there is always Garay. I really hope Tank gets a short suspension now. Bummer.
  16. I love all the Benson haters saying that he is going get Rex killed. Well, TJ was good at picking up the blitz, but he wasn't that good a blocker. Benson has pretty good form blocking, but he needs to read the blitz's better, and that comes with playing time. I see Benson getting 1300-1400 yards and 11-14 TD's if he stays healthy for the whole season. Don't forget, he was a major workhorse at Texas, and got better as he got more carries.
  17. pretty much... but then again, Tom Waddle was the greatest!
  18. Well, I could see why one like him would want to stay in the AFL. In the AFL, he is a star and could be considered the best player in the league. In the NFL he'd be a 3rd reciever best on a team, and not really be known.
  19. Divison II against weak competition, and is relatively small and slow. But he does have great hands and runs great routes, and isn't afraid to go up the middle.
  20. Rashied Davis came out of the AFL. In fact, there are a lot. They usually make the practice squad first, and then move their way up.
  21. and kick it out of bounds, and we get great field position... it would be a win-win-win!
  22. I really, really like the Graham pick. He fits the cover 2 great, and from what I have read, he is a great return man, better then anyone on this team not named Devin Hester. We could work something out between the two, and always have an explosive returner out there. Like after a couple kicks or punts that were kicked away from Hester, we can plug Graham in, and then wham, he takes it for a big gain.
  23. I think 8 games, but he could get the whole season, but with the possibility of coming back after week 10.
