There's no way he gets credit for this one. He's the one who wanted to bring in Adam Archuletta, the "model player" for the Cover 2.
-
Hester made some crucial catches in one of Griese's late game drives and made some nice (not necessarily difficult) catches in the last game.
-
Parcells was going to be brought in as VP, not coach. He was, presumably, going to be evaluting talent. To me it seems like that would have helped rebuilding, not hindered it. Coachs seem to have zero responsibility to honoring their agreements/ contracts these days, but with teams firing guys at the drop of a hat some times, I can't say I blame them.
-
If he is willing to sign a short term (1 or 2 years) deal on the cheaper side, bring him back. He isn't worth more than that.
-
No, going 1-14 on 3rd down screwed the Bears. I have no problem with that Giants TD. It looked pretty clear to me that he caught it and controlled it.
-
Tillman did say that, but I think he also said that they were playing more C-2 due to injuries and needing to stick with a basic defense.
-
Yeah, Rex or no Rex, Turner needs to go. What a joke.
-
Add a late INT trying to come back from 2+ scores down in there and it seems reasonable.
-
I was 100% in favor of Griese replacing Rex early in the season, but after seeing him play again last week, I've given up on him. Sure, he'll post a good stat line, but the offense just isn't very good with him and he makes some very stupid decisions.
-
Orton's one chance will be against a Minnesota team that's on a roll? And at home in one of the toughest places to play (when the Vikings are good)? Hopefully its just BS for the media.
-
The "Rex plays like a gay man" reference. Instant classic.
-
If the Bears resign Grossman, is the best move really to bring in another OC and have him learn yet another system?
-
Griese will put up a decent stat line, but after watching him play again he just sucks. I don't like Rex all that much, either, but its easy to see that he's the better QB since coming back.

Why isn't coaching getting most of the blame?

You really need great safety play to run it effectively. Look at what happened to Chicago whenever Brown goes down, and what happened with Indy when Sanders came back last year. They went from being near-last place to one of the best defenses. Lovie's too much of a system and game plan guy. He will rigidly stick by it no matter what. -
I'm pretty sure that's never going to get old

That's pretty much how I feel, too. I always want the Bears to smash the Packers, but I don't find myself rooting for them to lose otherwise. It's a better rivalry when both teams are competitive. As far as Vikings or Detriot, Detriot has been so bad for so long that I have to dislike the Vikings more. I hate anything associated with the Metrodome.

Thank god, this guy was a complete joke out there. Hopefully he's just on his way out of the NFL.

Found this site last year via Soxtalk. It's weird seeing more than half a dozen posts here a day.

Did we worry about the wrong youngin?

If you take out his one 10 yard run, LT was held to under 1 yard per carry against the Bears -- you can't judge a RB's ability off of one game. I agree that there are significant concerns with Benson, but I'm holding off judgment on him. -

Why not give him more than one game, on the road, against a great defense before judging him so harshly as a starter? -
I think its time for Chicago to wish Mike Brown the best and part ways. They need stability at FS and I doubt Brown will ever provide that.

Over at chicagobears.com, someone posted quotes from TJ's time in Arizona. It was almost identical to Benson's whinning. Once he got what he wanted (a starting job), he shut up and played well. Hopefully, Benson does the same. If you think about it, why would Benson whine about playing time if he didn't want to work? I'm willing to give Benson several more games before I start to judge how good he may or may not be. -
Leaving the scene of a single-car accident isn't all that big of a deal, IMO. If it were to come out that he was drunk/ drinking and obviously did it to avoid the DUI, the Bears should do something. I think a game suspension would be appropriate in that case.

That was a nice and easy TD. -
The first of this year's Grossman threads

"The preseason means nothing" is an excuse for sucking in the preseason. When he's showing the same basic, fundamental problems that he was having all last year (7 muffed snaps, IIRC), it means that he hasn't improved. And, based on his comments, he doesn't really care. It is his 5th season in the NFL now. I know he was a "virtual rookie" last year, but how many more chances does he get? How many more dropped snaps, poor scrambles, or Miami-like games does he get before we say "enough is enough?" Do we want another roller-coaster season from him, not knowing if we get "good rex" or "worst-in-the-league rex"?
