  1. Kornheiser is terrible. I forget what game it was, but the series went something like this: Blitz-> sack and a loss of 5 Blitz-> run stopped, no gain Blitz-> screen pass for 25 yards Then, when they didn't blitz the next couple of plays, he couldn't understand why.
  2. This is what I want out of Rex. Efficient, smart passing. Go a little deeper if its there, but there's nothing wrong with 5-10 yard passes if that's what's open.
  3. Bears back on track. Hopefully this is the game that "rights the ship"
  4. Nice tackle by Hester to stop them on 3rd down. But WTF was with 44 running in there on that punt?
  5. No question that Rex should stay out there. This is all I want out of him -- 200 yards/ game, 1 or 2 TD's, and solid ball control backed up by an excellent running game. However, that TD throw to Berrian was questionable and a better jump by the corner could have the Bears down 7-20.
  6. While the play calling hasn't been perfect (run/pass balance way off imo), most of the "WTF??!" plays were Rex opting to go to someone covered deep vs. the 10 or 15 yd pass to the guy that's 5 yards open. That's all on Rex.
  7. Let's hope it was Grossman, as I'd feel far better with a controlled Rex than Griese.
  8. Let's just hope he doesn't trick us into thinking he's improved by playing a good game tomorrow night and then crapping his pants again next week. I'm tiring of "Rollercoaster" Rex.
  9. If he comes out nearly as bad as last week, he has to be benched mid-game.
  10. I don't know if its accurate to give all or even most of the blame for the declining run defense to Harris's absense. The defense had been on the field for most of the game by the time he went and were likely just worn out.
  11. I'd just disagree with Grossman only being a minor concern. I don't care if he doesn't get back to his early season form, but if he can't limit his turnovers then this team has a huge concern. In my opinion, of course. It is nice to be debating on what needs to be fixed and tweeked to win the Superbowl instead of to get a wildcard spot!
  12. Yep, these next weeks will determine how far the Bears will go in the playoffs. Hopefully Grossman can use the less-than-steller opponents coming up to rebuild his confidence, fix his mechanics, and realize that he doesn't need to go deep every time. If he's able to turn it around and put up decent numbers, this team will be sitting pretty for a SB run.
  13. I think Bears fans are upset with Mr. 1.3, not the team. They're a long way off from perfection. To me, not seeing anything wrong with this team is just turning a blind eye to the problems. If Grossman's play continues anywhere near the level its been recently, this team won't do squat in the playoffs and fans will be very, very frustrated.
  14. I've yet to see you explain, in any way, shape, or form, why anyone should be happy with Grossman's play or why he clearly should remain the starter. You've just ignored all of the legitimate criticism and cited the record or said "well you're not the coach!"
  15. They mean HFA and 1st round byes, right? They also mean getting some sort of consistancy on offense so that Grossman doesn't stay deep-ball happy in the playoffs. But if its questionable, they should see limited playing time, if any at all.
  16. With the exception of yesterday? They were calling for deep balls with less than 2 minutes left. As much as Grossman's play as of late disgusts me, Ron Turner's playcalling simply baffles me.
  17. Dude, that logic would say Orton is a stellar QB. Seriosuly, you can't point to a 10-2 record where there were 3 games that the defense/ ST had to come up big for the Bears to have a shot to win (both Vikings games, Arizona) as evidence that Grossman doesn't suck.
  18. I don't know how anyone can really be defending Rex at this point. He's had 5 games this season now with sub-65 passer rating. Two below 15.
  19. The excuse used to be that he feasted on the crap teams. But Minnesota is 31st against the pass, so there goes that theory.
  20. In what can only be called another improbable win given the offensive performance, the Bears beat the Vikings 23-13 and wrap up the division. With the Colts' loss to Tennessee, the Bears are tied for the best record in the league at 10-2.
  21. Game. Unless Grossman and Ron Turner have their way.
